Ab Igniter Black Review

Ab Igniter Black Facts

  • Ab Igniter Black comes from Top Secret Nutrition.
  • 60 capsules per bottle – enough for 30 servings.
  • Take as advised before each meal and it adds up to 1240mg of caffeine a day.

Top Secret Nutrition Ab Igniter Black is a fat burner that combines stimulants with ingredients that may have an effect upon mood. The idea is that this combination will give you enhanced energy levels for your exercise workouts, reduce appetite and keep you feeling happy as well.

According to the product advertising, this supplement will raise body temperature (thermogenesis) and help burn fat cells too. The ingredients are grouped in four sections. There is the Energy Blend, the Mood and Focus Booster, the Fat Blasting Duo and the final ingredient Capiastra a branded chilli pepper supplement.

The principle ingredient is caffeine, which at 410mg a serving is high. Health guidelines recommend that we should ingest no more than 400mg of caffeine a day so you should cut out tea, coffee and soda while you are taking this supplement. However, you will certainly feel the stimulant effects of taking the equivalent of four cups of coffee in one hit!

Ab Igniter Black also contains Yohimbe – a stimulant that is often taken to treat erectile dysfunction as well as showing up in supplements designed to improve athletic performance. Although this ingredient is often included in supplements, it is linked to causing heart attacks because it increases heart rate and blood pressure, so if you have any health issues Ab Igniter Black will not be suitable for you.

Key to the Mood and Focus Booster is a plant chemical called Huperzine A. This is believed to increase the brain chemical acetylcholine and appears to improve memory and possibly mental performance. This is combined with Siamese ginger – better known as Galangal that like ginger is sometimes taken for stomach pains and nausea.

The final ingredient is Capiastra a branded chilli pepper supplement that may help increase fat burning by raising body temperature (thermogenesis).

Ab Igniter Black comes from Top Secret Nutrition, an American supplements company that focuses on bodybuilding supplements and fitness and is based in Florida.

The company market a wide range of supplements including Ab Igniter Thermogenic Fat Burner, a sister product to this one. However Ab Igniter Black looks to be much stronger than this earlier version of the diet pill.

We covered Top Secret Nutrition Garcinia Cambogia Extract in a previous review and although we felt it had some good points, did not add it to our approved list.

How to Take Ab Igniter Black

Take two capsules 10 minutes before meals. Take one capsule if you are sensitive to stimulants to assess your tolerance.
You are not advised of the maximum daily intake.

Ab Igniter Black Concerns:

  • Lack of product information. No warning to avoid added caffeine.
  • The ingredients come with health risks. As well as caffeine, it contains Yohimbe and Huperzine A.
  • Potentially very dangerous supplement but will customers realise?

What Does Ab Igniter Black Claim To Do?

According to the product advertising.

AB IGNITER BLACK represents a major leap forward in nutraceutical supplements for improving health and fitness.

It combines four key ingredient groups:

  • Crash-less energy stimulators
  • Heat-generators
  • Fat cell manipulators
  • Mood boosting botanicals

It is described as “the most advanced fat burning product on the market.”

However there is no explanation about how these ingredients will work together to achieve these effects and no links to the clinical evidence that supports these claims.

There is no specific health warning either and this is a serious omission because stimulants are known for causing a range of potentially dangerous side effects.

In addition, although you are warned “not to exceed the daily dose” this information is not provided. Some customers have complained about this point and many people appear to be taking widely different daily servings.

You are advised to take two capsules before each meal, which in our opinion could be dangerous, if you eat 3 or 4 meals a day.

So What Is Ab Igniter Black and What Are The Ingredients?

Ab Ignitor Black is a fat burner/ stimulant. Serving size is equal to two capsules. Amounts here reflect serving size.

Energy Blend (800mg):This is essentially caffeine from two different sources.

  • Caffeine Anhydrous (300mg): White powdered form of caffeine, often used in supplements but otherwise the same as you drink each time you have a coffee. Stimulant that can increase metabolism but effects can wear off as you become accustomed. Can cause side effects.
  • Guarana extract (22% caffeine): South American berry that contains more caffeine than the coffee bean. By our reckoning, this adds up to a further 110mg of caffeine in this supplement.

Mood and Focus Booster (412.5mg):

  • Siamese Ginger extract: Also known as Alpinia or Galangal, this culinary ingredient is very similar to ginger and is sometimes taken to relieve stomach complains and irritable bowel syndrome. There is no evidence anywhere to suggest that it will boost mood and focus.
  • Huperzine A (Huperzia Serrata whole leaf extract): Derived from the plant Huperzia Serrata (club moss or fir moss) Huperzine A has been studied for its effects upon memory, in particular Alzheimer’s disease.
It is marketed as a cognitive enhancer and nootropic because it may boost the brain chemical acetylcholine and prevent oxidative stress in cholinergic neurons. It may be effective for enhancing memory function. One test carried out on 78 subjects found Huperzine A could significantly improve the cognitive function in patients with mild to moderate vascular dementia.

Fat Blasting Duo (106mg):

  • Nelulean Nelumbo Nucifera Seed: Also known more simply as Indian lotus or blue lotus, there is not much information about the benefits or risks of this ingredient. It is sometimes taken to treat diarrhoea and other digestive problems. It may also lower blood sugar levels.
  • Yohimbine (6mg): Chemical derived from a tree in Africa called the Yohimbe. Yohimbine increases blood flow and is a stimulant with aphrodisiac effects making it popular in treatments for erectile dysfunction. Side effects include changes to blood pressure, increases in heart rate and even heart attack and seizure.
  • Capiastra (43.5mg): Branded supplement composed of chemicals called capsinoids found in sweet chilli peppers. Animal studies suggest dihydrocapsiate capsinoids may suppress fat accumulation but not proven to work like this for humans.
  • Black Pepper Extract ( 3mg): May help increase bioavailability so make the other ingredients more effective.

So What Does All This Mean?

You will probably notice the stimulant effect of Ab Igniter Black because each serving delivers more than the recommended daily amount of caffeine. This could cause unpleasant side effects depending on your own caffeine tolerance, which is different for everyone.

We cannot see the fat blasting duo actually living up to its name and the Yohimbe content will add to the stimulant content as well as increasing the risk of side effects.

There is evidence that Huperzine A does help boost memory function if taken over a period of time. However, it may cause side effects.

Does Ab Igniter Black Have Any Side Effects?

Ab Igniter Black may cause side effects. These will be mainly related to the stimulant ingredients in the supplement. Huperzine requires further safety information because some evidence suggests it can cause adverse effects too.

Potential side effects may include:

  • Jitteriness
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Tremors
  • Racing/ rapid heart beat
  • Palpitations
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Nausea
  • Headaches
  • Vomiting
  • Increased saliva and urine
  • Sweating
  • Blurred vision
  • Increased risk of heart attack and stroke
  • Twitching

Any Ab Igniter Black Reviews From Customers?

There are some customer reviews. Many people have noticed side effects.

This man ended up in hospital:

I’ve taken a lot of similar products over the years for weight maintenance without incident. Within ten days of using this product my heart went into AFib and I had to get it shocked backed into rhythm.

This customer had to reduce the dose:

I originally took 2 pills 3 times a day and it made me waaaay too jittery. So I lowered it to 1 pill 3 times a day and it works great for me now! It helps suppress my appetite and keeps me awake and alert during the day.

One customer has to ensure he takes it before 9.30 in the morning to ensure a good night’s sleep:

Aside from the extreme sweating while working out (which is awesome) I haven’t noticed any significant results. ALSO, I have to take no later than 930am if I want to be able to sleep at night. I had a few nights of absolutely NO sleep when I first started bc I would take at any time during the day/afternoon.

The sweating may be caused by the pepper extract or by the Huperzine A.

Some customers are happy:

…it’s only my first day taking it but I can feel the intense amount of energy this supplement has to offer. I have a high tolerance for caffeine I can totally feel the energy that this thing is gives off. it also put me in a better mood….

Some customers are confused about dosage:

It says take 2 capsules before meals, however it didn’t say how many meals a day. What is the maximum servings recommended in a 24 hr period?

A customer responded to this question:

I would say no more than 8. These pills have a lot of caffeine. Personally l only use one before each meal.”
We don’t advise you to try 8 capsules a day because this is extremely dangerous. This adds up to a whopping 1640 mg of caffeine a day!

So Does Ab Igniter Black Work?

When you take a lot of caffeine as with this supplement, you will notice the effects. These will include restlessness, increased energy and a loss of appetite, so if these are the effects you are searching for, this supplement will probably work.

However, there can be serious health risks to doing this and we would not advise you to take more than two capsules a day, despite the advice to take a full serving before each meal. Caffeine overdose can be fatal. It can lead to heart attacks, strokes and seizures and people have died from caffeine poisoning.

According to health advice:

Generally a dose between 250-500mg could produce some of the above mild to moderate symptoms, especially in those with no tolerance of high caffeine sensitivity.

Watchdog Verdict

Ab Igniter Black is a deceptively dangerous supplement. Although we are all accustomed to caffeine, the high level contained in this supplement is a matter for concern.

Are you really supposed to take two capsules three times a day and ingest a whopping 1240 mg of caffeine each day? This appears to be what the product information advises but the directions are confusing and have left many customers unsure.

Make no mistake; this could be very dangerous, especially if combined with added caffeine drinks like coffee, prescription drugs or alcohol.

Apart from the caffeine, we cannot see this ingredient combination providing all the so-called weight loss benefits. Huperzine A requires further investigation and at the time of writing seems to be mainly effective for treating dementia so does not seem relevant. Galangal seems equally unrelated to energy or weight loss and Yohimbe is just dangerous and should be avoided. It is not an effective fat burner either.

It is an easy decision. Ab Igniter black is just too dangerous and ineffective to recommend so we have no other choice but to reject it.
