Below we take an in-depth look at African Mango Plus to see how effective this product really is at aiding weight loss.
African Mango Plus is marketed as a metabolism boosting weight loss aid that will also help the consumer to fight fatigue by boosting their metabolism.
Customers who want to contact the company have a choice of several phone numbers, depending upon their location. The numbers are not for individual call centres, but are local numbers that redirect to a single call centre that appears to be based in the USA. The opening hours and numbers are listed on the African Mango Plus website.
The manufacturers state ‘Once you receive the product, you will be able to read the recommended dosage on the product’.
The manufacturers list the following benefits of taking African Mango Plus:
The ingredients used in African Mango Plus are detailed below. The dosages of each ingredient provided are per single capsule serving.
Green tea is an effective weight loss aid, providing a small but consistent increase in thermogenesis in the body thanks to its EGCG content, and providing a small increase to the body’s metabolic rate; these two factors mean that for a few hours after consumption, the body will burn more calories than normal. However, it is a small effect, and will only lead to weight loss if the consumer is already following a calorie restricted diet, as its effects are easily counteracted by overeating. One study found that participants who drank beverages high in catechins extracted from green tea (690 mg/d) lost significantly more weight and body fat than those who drank beverages low in catechins (22 mg/d). The dosage used in African Mango Plus is much lower than the amount used in this study.
Caffeine is a stimulant that boosts the body’s metabolic rate slightly, burning more calories for a few hours after consumption. The clinical evidence to support its use shows that it only has a ‘small but significant’ impact upon weight loss. Theanine will not directly contribute to weight loss; theoretically Theanine aids relaxation and helps to limit the potential side effects of caffeine without affecting its metabolism increasing effects.
African Mango extract may act as an appetite suppressant when used in sufficient quantities, but the mechanisms involved are unknown at this time, and evidence is both biased (due to the companies who research the product having a vested interest in the product’s effectiveness) and limited to very small studies.
African Mango Plus has several ingredients that could cause side effects. The daily dosage is unknown. But if consumers were taking two tablets per day, the daily serving of African Mango Plus would contain 400 mg of caffeine, and so should ensure that they stop consuming other sources of caffeine such as teas and coffees.
Caffeine can cause side effects such as headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness and insomnia. Theanine causes a state of relaxation without drowsiness, and may help to counteract some of the potential side effects of caffeine, such as jitteriness. Consumers should still ensure that they do not take this supplement or any other source of caffeine within 5 hours of bedtime, as caffeine can interfere with sleep cycles. Green tea can cause constipation.
African mango can cause flatulence, headaches and sleep problems.

There are numerous customer reviews for this product on amazon, where it is sold. Whilst some of the customer reviews are positive, there are numerous complaints about side effects and the high caffeine content.
This supplement has way too much caffeine. I felt horrible everytime I took it and I only took one pill at a time.
BEWARE – DO NOT buy this product from africanmangosystem.com 1-877217-0463. If you see this web address or phone number BEWARE – they sold this to my teenage daughter, started charging her $70.00 a month & would not refund her money when she realized that a “free trial” was NOT free.
I felt way too much energy and the product seemed to accumulate in my system over the days I had taken it. After about five days I couldn’t take it anymore and it took about two more to sleep as I usually do. I really did feel less hungry but the fast heartbeat made me worry. I cannot see how taking something like this is good. On the final day of taking the product I went to work and several people asked me why I seemed “off”. I felt too much energy, like I couldn’t relax. That was enough for me…I really did want this to work but losing a few pounds isn’t worth hurting my body.
Tried this product and the very first day I used it I felt my heart was going to jump out. There is 200mg of caffeine in it which is not listed. I’m not a coffee drinker so this was a shock to my system. I only used it for a week cause I couldn’t handle it anymore. I actually went to my local health food store and bought from them and it doesn’t have the caffeine this product has. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
I had to stop taking it 2 days in because I was shaky and VERY irritable and if you knew me, you would know that is not a good thing…
Customer reviews strongly suggest that the product has a high caffeine level that causes side effects; this leaves consumers unable to take the product regularly, if at all. The ingredients list confirms this, with each tablet of African Mango Plus containing 200 mg of caffeine, which is the same as drinking two cups of coffee, except that the caffeine enters the system all at once, rather than over the time it takes to drink two cups of coffee. It seems that the presence of theanine is not enough to prevent side effects from occurring.
Green tea may aid weight loss through increasing thermogenesis, but the dosages included in this diet pill of EGCG are nowhere near as high as relevant studies used. African Mango, the ingredient the product is named after, actually has very little clinical support, and the support that does exist comes from tiny studies funded directly by the manufacturers of African Mango products, meaning that evidence that does exist is far from credible or conclusive.
Overall, there is little evidence from reviews or the ingredients list that this product could have a significant impact upon weight loss.
Customers can order African Mango Plus from the official website of the same name. Customer details need to be entered before they are provided with a price. Five bottles costs $149.95 under a buy 3, get 2 free offer. Delivery charges may apply depending upon the size of the order and the location of the customer.
When ordered from amazon, this product costs $29.95 per bottle plus delivery charges. A single bottle contains 60 capsules.
There is no money back guarantee for this product, despite the manufacturers claiming that they offer a 100% money back guarantee. When ordering direct from one of the numerous sales websites such as Africanmangoplus.com, customers can return items that are unopened and unused within 90 days of the initial purchase for a refund. Customers need to obtain an RMA code from www.websupportcenter.com before sending their refund. There is a $10.00 restocking fee that is charged per item.
Overall, African Mango Plus appears to be a fairly ineffective weight loss aid that causes side effects for many consumers. The product’s manufacturers take advantage of African Mango’s reputation as a weight loss aid, despite the lack of concrete clinical evidence to support this. Several customers who reviewed the product seemed unaware of other ingredients used in the product until it arrived and they saw the product label.
The dosage of caffeine used in African Mango Plus is high, and will likely cause some side effects.
The product is incredibly expensive when ordered direct from the official website; it does not even state what the daily dosage is, and so it is not even possible to calculate how long a single bottle will last for. The company states that they have a 90 day 100% money back guarantee, which is reiterated in the FAQs on the website. However, anyone reading the terms and conditions will note that they do not offer refunds for opened products, and charge $10 per returned bottle. These two conditions show that the term ‘money back guarantee’ is misleading to customers.
Overall, we are not impressed by African Mango Plus, or its manufacturers. We do not recommend African Mango Plus to our readers.
Thousands of customers have cut the fat with this fast and powerful thermogenic fat burner. Can suppress appetite, boost energy levels and elevate mood without the jitters.
