APS Phenadrine Facts

  • Most reputable companies have withdrawn DMAA supplements in compliance with the FDA
  • Each capsule contains 750mg of stimulants
  • Acacia Rigidula is technically illegal to sell in Europe

APS Phenadrine is a strong looking fat burner! The label states it is the ‘World’s strongest diet and energy aid’ and while we think this is exaggerated, there is no doubt that APS Phenadrine contains strong ingredients that are known for causing health problems.

APS Phenadrine contains 750mg of active ingredients per serving and is essentially a blend of different types of stimulants in unknown quantities. APS Phenadrine contains DMAA, which is of concern.

DMAA also known as Methylhexanamine or 1, 3-dimethylamylamine is a powerful stimulant with a similar chemical make up to amphetamine. It increases adrenaline levels and will put your body under stress, which as a knock on effect reduces appetite and raises energy levels.

DMAA raises blood pressure because it narrows the blood vessels and arteries and it has been linked to causing heart attacks, strokes and deaths. Dietary supplements containing DMAA are illegal in the USA for safety reasons and the FDA is attempting to remove these products from the market. Most reputable companies have complied with the requests and this has seen supplements like OxyElite Pro and Craze being withdrawn from sale.

However, not all companies have complied and supplements like APS Phenadrine, which openly advertise DMMA, continue to be openly on sale. It seems to be a grey area of the law.

It is important to know that although DMAA supplements are touted as sports supplements, DMAA is banned by most sporting authorities, including the World Anti Doping Agency and it will show up as a positive in dope testing.

In addition to DMAA, Phenadrine contains Methlysnephrine a stimulant of the central nervous system that also is linked with causing heart attacks. APS Phenadrine also contains Acacia Rigidula Extract.

According to some experts, this natural tree extract contains chemicals that stimulate the effects of amphetamines, more specifically – methamphetamine. It contains various chemical forms of Phenylethylamine more commonly known as PEA. This is the name of a class of chemicals that are well known for their psychoactive and stimulant effects.

In most cases Acacia Rigidula supplements do not contain these natural chemicals but instead small quantities of manufactured stimulant called stimulant beta-Methylphenylethylamine, or BMPEA. This is also one of the ingredients of APS Phenadrine.

Acacia Rigidula cannot be legally marketed in Europe unless the sellers demonstrate that it does not present a risk, or mislead, the consumer so along with DMAA, is technically another illegal ingredient contained in this supplement.

How to Take APS Phenadrine

Take one capsule 30 min before workout.

After assessing tolerance experienced users may increase to two capsules 30 min before workout.

Take one capsule in the morning or early afternoon.

Do not exceed 3 capsules of Phenadrine a day under any circumstances.

Take at least 2 days off Phenadrine every week.

Phenadrine comes from Advanced Performance Supplements (APS). This US company sell a range of supplements aimed at the bodybuilder or powerlifter.

Other supplements include Mesamorph a pre work out complex that also contains DMAA and Nitrozine a nitric oxide supplement. APS also sell a range of protein powders and similar. APS have so called athletes endorsing their products. It is important to note that apart from bodybuilders, competitive athletes will be banned for using APS supplements, which contain DMAA.

There is no connection with APS Phenadrine and South African diet pill Phenadrine Thermo Cut.

APS Phenadrine Concerns:

  • APS Phenadrine does not come with any health warnings. Will some customers take it without realising the risks?
  • How is this supplement still openly on sale? It contains DMAA an ingredient classified as illegal by the FDA.
  • The side effects. This supplement is potentially very dangerous

What Does APS Phenadrine Claim To Do?

According to the advertising, APS Phenadrine has eight key benefits:

  • Promotes Fat Loss
  • Helps Elevate Energy Levels
  • Contains DMAA
  • Helps Improve Focus and Alertness
  • Aids in Speeding up Metabolism
  • Helps Suppress Appetite
  • Mood Enhancer
  • May increase Sexual Performance

It,

stimulates the body’s central nervous system to promote lipolysis, the breakdown of fat cells, ”and serves as a powerful energizer featuring the novel stimulant DMAA! It even puts your stored fat to work and uses it as energy!

What the product information does not say is that this supplement is potentially dangerous and this so-called ‘novel stimulant DMAA’ is being withdrawn from the market by reputable companies.

The FDA issued warning letters to companies back in 2012 notifying them that products with DMAA need to be taken off the market or reformulated to remove this substance. Most companies warned are no longer distributing products with DMAA.

This has left a gap in the market for DMAA which companies like APS are exploiting.

So What Is APS Phenadrine and What Are The Ingredients?

APS Phenadrine is a fat burner diet pill composed of several different types of stimulants under a proprietary blend. Serving size is equal to one capsule.

PhenylMaxx Proprietary blend (750mg)

The other ingredients:

  • N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine: Derived from the essential amino acid L-Tyrosine. N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine is a water-soluble amino acid that is rapidly absorbed and more bio-available form of L-Tyrosine. This amino acid is believed to stimulate brain chemicals serotonin and dopamine and is sometimes taken to treat depression. Research suggests that taking 150mg will improve alertness after missing a night’s sleep for around three hours.
  • Caffeine: Stimulant that is well known for increasing energy and focus and can aid fat loss by speeding up the body’s metabolism.
  • Extend-Rx™ (Naringen/Bergamottin) (Fruit): Proprietary brand manufactured by Hi Tech a US supplements company. Naringin and Bergomottin are two chemicals found in grapefruit that are well known for inhibiting the effects of prescription drugs. There is no explanation about its role in this supplement.
    Source:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18494494
  • 1, 3 Dimethylamylamine HCI: Better known as DMMA, this chemical compound is a stimulant that affects the central nervous system. DMAA activates an enzyme called adenyiate cyclase, which increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate in cells, activating fat metabolism. According to the product information, users experience beneficial effects while supplementing DMAA while training. Promoting heightened intensity and endurance.
  • Theobromine: Chemical related to caffeine and found in cocoa. It can have a stimulant effect if taken in sufficient quantities. It can increase the heart rate and give you a short-lived buzz and is sometimes used in medicine to widen blood vessels.

So What Does All This Mean?

APS Phenadrine contains a mix of various stimulants in unknown quantities so you will notice taking this supplement and not necessarily in a good way.

You will probably notice your appetite is suppressed and that your ‘energy’ levels are increased although this will probably be along the lines of a chemical buzz rather than a natural energy ‘high’.

Does APS Phenadrine Have Any Side Effects?

Astoundingly, APS Phenadrine does not come with any health warning or advice for users. It is highly possible that people who come across this product and read all the so-called fat burning claims will fail to realise how dangerous it is.

However, there is a long list of well-documented side effects:

  • Heart palpitations
  • Heart palpitations
  • Irregular heart beat
  • Chest pains
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Vomiting
  • Nausea
  • Mood changes
  • Depression
  • Euphoria
  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Seizure

Any APS Phenadrine Reviews From Customers?

APS Phenadrine is not on sale from any reputable retailers but you can find it on specialist sites that sell these types of strong fat burners. Some customers have left feedback. Unsurprisingly this is all positive and we cannot guarantee it is genuine.

Typical positive reviews include,

Massive energy rush, very little to no crash. My workouts have got to be at least 20% better because of this pill. End of month 1 I am down 12 lbs! I have worked out 3-4 days a week and I am dieting as well. Love it!

And,

It’s only been 3 days and i feel pretty awesome, nice warm feeling in my gut like its melting fat, don’t take 3, it will intoxicate you , and also makes me yawn a lot for some reason, drink lots of water, happy shredding.

One man took it for a few months and found the effects wore off,

Got used to it after 6-8 weeks, the buzz went away. Ate clean and upped cardio sessions. I guess i plateaud.

So Does APS Phenadrine Work?

Some customers obviously like the effects of APS Phenadrine. There is a market for strong stimulant fat burners and if you are looking for this stimulant effect then you will probably like this one.

However, there is not much evidence that stimulants will cause lasting weight loss. Putting your body under such stress can decrease the appetite by making you feel wired all the time and it can increase your activity levels in the gym, but as the customer said, you can build up tolerance.

The main problem with APS Phenadrine is that it is not safe. It contains a blend of different stimulants that all have safety concerns.

Synephrine is known to cause strokes and cardiac arrhythmias; DMAA works in a different way but has also caused heart attacks. It has been linked to causing deaths and serious illness including the need for liver transplants.

PEA is known for its mood altering affects and stimulant induced mood swings. This combination looks extremely dangerous which is why both Acacia Rigula supplements and DMAA are both considered illegal.

Where Can I Buy APS Phenadrine?

You cannot buy APS Phenadrine from any major retailers. It is only available online from companies who specialise in semi legal fat burners and sports supplements. You can buy 1 bottle (60 caps or 1 month’s supply) via the Strong Supplements Shop (UK) for £22.51 plus shipping (calculated at the point of sale).

US customers can buy APS Phenadrine from a range of supplement sellers including one called I’ll Pump you Up.com. 1 bottle of 60 capsules costs $23.45. Shipping costs are not provided.

You can also find APS Phenadrine on eBay and available from various sellers. We cannot see how people are getting away with selling APS Phenadrine when it contains ingredients that are technically illegal.

What About A Guarantee

APS Phenadrine does not come with a guarantee.

Watchdog Verdict

We are extremely concerned about APS Phenadrine. Reputable supplement manufacturers are heeding the requests of the FDA and voluntarily withdrawing supplements, which contain DMAA, yet APS is continuing to market Phenadrine, which suggests that they do not really care about the safety of their customers.

Make no mistake, DMAA is dangerous. It has caused serious medical side effects, including deaths in some cases, yet this fact is not even mentioned in the advertising.

APS Phenadrine does not come with even a basic health warning which could lead some customers into believing it is safe. In addition, APS Phenadrine contains additional stimulants that also have health concerns. Synephrine and PEA are dangerous and companies that market Acacia Rigidula are supposed to guarantee that this ingredient has not been tampered with. Unsurprisingly this has not been adhered to.

Overall, APS Phenadrine looks to be a very dangerous cocktail of stimulants and with 750mg, each capsule serving you could very easily end up in hospital or even on a slab.

There is no reason to take this supplement. We find it surprising that it is still openly on sale. It is an easy decision. We reject APS Phenadrine.
