What you need to know about Bio X4

After going over all the information we have collected it would seem that Nucific Bio X4 may help some people improve their digestive health but there is NO accepted evidence that it will help with weight loss.

If your digestive system is functioning normally there seems to be no reason to take this supplement.

If you do have digestive problems, you should visit your doctor rather than trust a rather expensive and unproven OTC supplement. Although, the fact that the company is run by trained medical professionals is encouraging, unfortunately there is no sufficient evidence to suggest that this supplement will be safe.

Probiotics, what are the facts?

We feel that probiotics need further clinical investigation to prove all the claims that have been made here and eliminate concerns about contamination and safety issues.

There is mounting evidence that certain Lactobacillus probiotics can actually cause weight gain

Different Lactobacillus species are associated different effects on weight change that are host-specific. Further studies are needed to clarify the role of Lactobacillus species in the human energy harvest and weight regulation. Attention should be drawn to the potential effects of commonly marketed lactobacillus-containing probiotics on weight gain.

We like green tea extract for weight loss, as it is included in a lot of products nowadays and has been proven to help with weight loss goals.

Lack of testimonials

Nucific seem to be a reputable company and we love that they offer a guarantee on their products, something a lot of other companies could learn from.

What we weren’t impressed with is the lack of testimonials, on the official site and lack of clinical studies. How many people have actually tried this product and found it to work in the way they state?

Our Verdict

While Bio X4 is marketed very slickly, especially with the video marketing featuring Dr Amy Lee, the jury is still out on Probiotics and weight loss. Is it worth taking something that some evidence may cause weight gain? We feel that the best bet, if you want to experiment, is take consume a natural Yoghurt every now and then.

For now we have no other choice but to reject Bio X4.

What is Bio X4?

Bio X4 Facts

  • Nucific is based in California. Full contact details are provided.
  • Each bottle contains 90 capsules or one month’s supply.
  • Available to buy in 6-month supply.

Trying to lose weight can be a tough journey but there are some things than can make it easier, such as eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly. Sometimes a dietary supplement can make all the difference in the world and Bio X4 says that it is designed to help:

  • Control hunger cravings
  • Boost the metabolism and burn fat
  • Give you more energy and nutrients from the food you eat
  • Make you feel more confident without gas and bloating after eating

Bio X4 contains 4 blended compounds that work together in order to attack weight loss issues. This is perfect for people who would like a supplement that has no lactose, no fillers, uses 100% pure ingredients and vegetarian capsules as well. What’s not to like?

The principle ingredient is the probiotic blend, which is said to contain 4 billion healthy bacteria per capsule, which is a heck of a lot, and is composed of a Lactobacillus blend and a Bifidobacterium blend. Probiotics are important for our health and our bodies could not do without these colonies of the live bacteria and yeasts founds naturally in our bodies. Lactobacillus is a bacteria that is naturally present in the stomach, which produces vitamin K and Lactase (which breaks down Lactose, the sugars in milk products). Bifidobacterium is a type of bacteria present in the colon flora in animals as well as in the gastrointestinal tract in humans.

Since the mid 1990s, probiotics and supplements containing them have been advertised as a way to benefit the digestion system and help with IBS, eczema and oral health. However the probiotic supplements and foods do not have any medical backing behind them, which could be a cause for concern.

As well as a probiotic blend, Bio X4 also contains a digestive enzyme blend. Digestive enzymes are present in the body naturally and break down food molecules so that they can be absorbed by the body and taking a supplement including them is said to improve digestion. Bio X4 also contains green tea extract, which is well known for its beneficial effects upon health and weight loss. There is some evidence that suggests green tea can increase the speed of the metabolism, making you lose weight more effectively.

The final ingredient in Bio X4 is Caralluma Fimbriata, a cactus extract that may help cause feelings of satiety to prevent over eating and food cravings.

Bio X4 Concerns:

  • You may not notice any effects from this supplement.
  • No independent customer feedback.
  • Not safe for everyone. May introduce infection if you have a weakened immune system. Could be dangerous if you don’t realise.

How does it work?

The manufacturers claim that with Bio X4 you can:

Take control of your appetite again, enhance your metabolism & digestion, and feel better than ever.

The way that each ingredient blend works is explained:

  • Digestive enzymes that help get you the maximum amount of nutrients out of everything you eat.
  • 12 Billion Colony-Forming Units (CFUs) of probiotics to rebalanace your digestive tract with healthy gut bacteria.
  • The appetite suppressing power of Caralluma Fimbriata.
  • EGCG, sourced from green tea extract, to help support your metabolism.

To utilize Bio X4 to the best of it’s ability you have to take 1 capsule with each meal. When taken 3 times daily, an individual receives 12 billion CFU’s. More may be taken as needed. Supplementing each meal with digestive help that assists in processing your food and extracting the maximum amount of nutrients gives your body the tools it requires to operate at its peak level of performance.

Will this product work?

When we look back over the facts we don’t see how or why Bio X4 could help you lose weight, as there is no evidence for probiotics and digestive enzyme supplements aiding weight loss. While the Green Tea and Caralluma Fimbriata look promising, the ingredient amounts seem inadequate.

Probiotics for weight loss remain largely untrialled and untested. This form of medical science is in the early stages and nobody knows for sure if probiotics are generally good to take in supplement form. In addition, they are not suitable for everyone as they come with the risk of introducing bacteria into your system.

Not only are the weight loss claims unproven, but also the claims about digestive enzymes are also unproven. We cannot see Nucific Bio X4 doing much for your health or your weight loss.

What are the ingredients and are they safe?

Nucific Bio X4 is a probiotic supplement that looks to address digestive issues as well as help you lose weight. Serving size is equal to one capsule.

Probiotic blend (4 billion):

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus blend (L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L. planterum): Lactobacillus acidophilus is present in different parts of the body including intestines, mouth and vagina where it helps protect against harmful bacteria and infection. It may help to protect against coronary heart disease. It may help improve lipid metabolism. However, it does require further evidence to prove these claims.
    Source: http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/acidophilus
  • Bifidobacterium blend (B. lactis, B. animalis): This probiotic bacterium is found in some dairy products (including breast milk) and may help digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/digestivedisorder/what-are-probiotics

Digestive enzyme blend (88mg):

  • Amylase: This enzyme is present in our saliva and helps us digest carbs such as rice and potatoes. Some ingredients – such as Kelp and Garcinia Cambogia prevent this digestive process and some people believe that doing this stops carbs from being absorbed by the body and turning to fat. Other people believe that digestive enzyme supplements help the body’s digestion and helps weight loss.
  • Bromelain: This natural enzyme is found in pineapple. According to clinical research, it may be effective at helping to reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Lipase: This is a digestive enzyme, which is made in the pancreas and is lacking in some people who suffer from medical conditions such as celiac or crohns disease. Lipase breaks down, transports fats, and is essential to the digestive process. It may help with digestive issues such as indigestion and gas.
    Source: http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/supplement/lipase

Weight Management blend:

  • Green Tea (100mg): Clinical research has found that green tea has proven health benefits and the antioxidants (EGCG and polyphenols) found to have anti obesity and fat burning properties because of the effects upon the metabolism. Contains caffeine.
    Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17201629

Craving control blend (166mg):

  • Caralluma Fimbriata: Promising although unproven ingredient for weight loss that may reduce appetite.
We covered this native Indian succulent plant in a previous investigation and were impressed. However, it requires further evidence because testing has been very limited.

  • Diarrhoea
  • Painful urination
  • Joint pain

If you are particularly sensitive to caffeine which is present in green tea you could experience the following:

How about Bio X4 testimonials?

As far as user reviews go we have been unable to locate any reviews on the official site, but we did locate some on Amazon and the findings were interesting. Here are a few of them:

I tried one whole bottle and saw no results at all. No weight loss, no change in digestion, no change in appetite. Only benefit was it encouraged me to drink more water! I purchased directly through Bio-X4 which cost much less than on Amazon. Scam! Wish I could show no stars.

I bought the Bio-x4 from the company’s website – Nucific. I took it diligently for about 3 weeks. I did not experience any positive effects, e.g., of probiotics. However, my sleep became more restless, and I started experiencing some water retention. I’m returning the product back to the company and hope to receive my money back. Don’t waste your time and money on this product!

This company seems strange and perhaps shady. I bought Bio X4 because it sounded all natural; I thought even if I didn’t lose the weight I wanted to lose, the probiotics and green tea extract would still give me benefits. I bought several bottles because every time I went to check out a new, “better” deal would pop up. That should have been a red flag. As someone else already noted, the Google reviews also seem stacked in Nucific’s favor. All of the results are favorable to Nucific, but all are on web pages completely unfamiliar to me. When I ordered the product I thought it was because the product was so new, but months later, the Google results are still like that. I ended up with heartburn that I believe is related to probiotics (I admittedly could be wrong about this but have heard some people get heartburn from certain types of probiotics), so I tried to return the bottles I had not opened. Unfortunately the 90-day grace period was over, so I have lost significant money on my Nucific purchase with nothing noticeably gained on my end. The e-mails from the company are also strange, as are the recipes. Hard to explain but something seems fake or “off” about this company. I would not buy their products again.

Going by these reviews it seems like Bio X4 does not help with weight loss and it is making people doubt the company.

What about a money back guarantee?

When it comes to important details, we feel that one of the most important is that a product must have a guarantee so the user feels safe knowing that they won’t lose out if the product doesn’t work in the way they want it to. Nobody likes to be disappointed and realize they lost a lot of money for no reason.

On the site, Nucific offer a full 90-day money back guarantee. Here is what they say:

If you’re not 110% satisfied by the results, send back your order within 90 days for a full refund – no questions asked. You will be absolutely amazed at just how quickly your body can change. See the results for yourself…

Unfortunately it doesn’t specify whether this applies to opened and unopened bottles, so we would suggest contacting them beforehand for confirmation. To claim a refund you need to call 888-679-5520 Monday – Friday from 6am to 8pm, as well as weekends 5am to 5pm.

Where to Buy and is the price good?

  1. Mr B says:

Took 7 pills over a weekend with Bio x-4 for a 0 effect one way or another now suspecting the capsules contain inert ingredients or very ‘watered down’ capsules, per no effect. Waste of money on a dead product that does nothing IMHO.

  2. Sylvia Kelly says:

This is for Katt: I have your problem and I control it with Loperamide Hydrochloride which I buy at Walmart. I take it at the first sign of loose bowel and pain in abdomen. I have had accidents, and there is a new medication out that you can take on a daily basis that slows the peristalic action of the bowel…unfortunately it costs about 600+ a month, so I haven’t tried it. The one I’m talking about is the Equate brand called Anti-Diarrheal. Try it. Also, look up celiac disease and cut out the foods they recommend for a few weeks to see if that helps.

  3. Norma says:

I’ve read most every comment on this site. I believe everyone has a valid points with reference to their own experience. Pills of any kind will have a different effect on each of us. While something may work for one person it does not make sense that it will work for every person. Also, what I see is so many things going on at once, i.e. drinking more water/ or water before each meal. Cutting out fatty foods, packaged processed foods, wheat product, sugar, etc. So we all do several things at once to try to battle the bulge and irregularities in our systems. I wish there were a ” Magic Pill ” that would help all of us. However I do not believe there is. So my assessment here is simple, try one thing at a time, drink water before meals for a couple of weeks and see if that helps. Then maybe try cutting out packaged processed foods, see if that works. Then maybe try taking a probiotic or drink 3 to 4 cups of green tea a day. Do you see where this is going. Please don’t put all your faith in a “Magic Pill ” that costs a substantial amount of money to sustain your life. Money back guarantee or not and I don’t care how nice the customer service representative is. Please use common sense, get tested for food allergies, have your thyroid checked, eat better quality whole real food, take minimal pills, drink water as much as you can, exercise if you can’t walk sit in a chair and use your arms and torso, get enough sleep. Stop looking for the “Magic Pill” to fix everything. Most if not all companies in the US are in business to make money and they know how to market their product to us. They prey on our fears, our individual medical problems and our desire for a quick easy fix! I have lived with IBS for 14 years now, developed in my early forties for reasons unknown to me. I saw my doctor, then off to the GI specialist, diagnosed with IBS and told to eat more Fiber ( which by the way caused even more problems) and take immodium for my frequent bowell attacks. Well what that got me was a rectal prolapse because the immodium caused constipation that made me push hard during bowell movements. That resulted in surgery to fix the prolapse, then 3 years later another surgery to remove a section of my colon. Now, I can’t evacuate properly and the next step is an Ostomy bag. All avoidable had I done my research and learned more about my condition and that diet had more to do with my IBS than I knew at the time. Thanks to the medical profession I am messed up for life! We are responsible for our bodies and our health, if we don’t seek the answers for ourselves we will pay the price. I will not blindly follow the advice a a doctor who prescribes pills and does not look for the root cause of whatever condition I am suffering from at any given time. I will consult with my doctor but will seek to get to the root of the problem and resolve it without ” the Pill ” he says he can prescribe for ” That “…
I have many female friends that suffer from “gut problems” all healthy athletic active women whom you would never think could have issue’s. We all have the same outlook with respect to our health, we want to stay in shape, feel better, have more energy, etc. My friends and I have all come to the conclusion we cannot rely on the medical profession to help us. The American diet and Corporate America is the culprit in most every case. The FDA has not done us any favors in this department. ( have you seen ads for the newest latest greatest drugs. The disclaimers during the ads should be enough to scare the crap out of you! Really, if you take drug XY or Z you can expect to suffer horrible side effects up to and including death and that’s ok to advertise on tv???
Caution, Caution, Caution..research and learn, learn, learn. Good luck to all of you, Many blessings….

  4. Susie Wacker says:

I have tried the BioX4 for 2 weeks. It makes me jittery, increased heart rate, constipation, more irritable and feel terrible. I would not recommend this product.

    1. Pat says:

I have taken BIO.X4 for three months with no side effects, & found it 100% effective.
I have to question your sites honesty, since you are promoting another product on your site?????

      1. eldagwood says:

I agree why are they pushing another product? seems fishy to me too

  5. JAMES TELFORD says:

I am not overweight and have good discipline regarding food consumption. I was looking for more energy and better sleep experience. I had only used the pills for 48 hours and during the second night of no sleep, most likely caused by the high caffeine content, I found my tummy rumbling and was getting quite uncomfortable. When I got up that morning I was in a lot of discomfort and finally contacted the company around noon when I could no longer tolerate the pain. The woman told me that this should only last a week or two while my body adjusted to the pills. I was shocked and decided right then and there to return the product. In my opinion any product that has such horrific side effects that must be endured for up to two weeks before any benefit is experienced is not something I want in my body.

  6. E.C.S. says:

I took this for only 2 days & got headaches after each time. I didn’t think it was because of this supplement until I didn’t take them as well as reading more reviews. Needless to say they are going to be returned!

    1. E.C.S. says:

I have to add if you bought this for weight loss there are more directions when you receive the product. The phone number you call says to drink 2 glasses of water with the supplement before your meal so you will eat less, stop eating when you feel 80% full & work out at least 30 minutes every day. Clearly you can do all of this even without taking the supplement & lose weight.

  7. Betty says:

Will I get the response at my email?

  8. Maria says:

For all of you with digestion issues; constipation, bloating, diarrhea, etc. A real solution is at Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, Ca
It’s a holistic health center that has been in existence for over 40 years; you stay on site for at least 1 week you can attend classes that educate you on how you can heal your body with an organic raw diet, all-natural, holistic healing practices; body, mind and spirit. People from all over the world go there for healing.
I highly recommend the Institute; I go at least once a year for 1-3 weeks. If money is an issue they have a scholarship fund. I don’t work for them or have any financial affiliation. I’ve seen miracles happen while being there. Look them up, do your own research.

    1. selena says:

do you know if there is a sister business in Jacksonville, Florida?
I would be interested in a class like this!

  9. Roberto says:

I bought a 90 day supply and started taking this product July 21, will update every other week to this same post. I’m a 58 y/o male, 5’6″ 200 lbs, I exercise/cycle 4 – 5 days a week for about 1 hr, no issues. My problems are obviously, over weight and belly bloat (47″ around). Hispanic iron gut, no digestive issues, this probably why I’m chubby. I quit taking my other probiotics, and will try to follow the tips. No financial interest in this product

    1. Roberto says:

I’ve been taking Bio X4 for 2 weeks. I have dropped 6 lbs. (194 lbs) and 1-1/2″ from my waist (45-1/2″). My energy levels are good and I am still exercising, 4-5 days a week. The trend looks good. I may have missed a dose or 2 during these last 2 weeks. Tried to stop eating at 80%, really can’t measure that, I just serve myself a reasonable portion of food and stop eating. No significant side effects. I’ll post again in a couple of weeks. I have no financial interest in this product.

      1. Yulia says:

Thank you for your review :)!

      2. Roberto says:

I’ve been taking Bio X4 for 4 weeks. I have dropped 2 lbs. (192 lbs) and 1? from my waist (44-1/2?) in the past 2 weeks. My energy levels continue the same I have slacked off on the exercise to 2-3 days a week, just busy. The trend is still good. I may have missed a couple of doses. I did notice my sugar intake increased — sweets :), and have cut it back in the past few days. No significant side effects. I’ll post again in a couple of weeks. I have no financial interest in this product.

What happened to you? Progress report??

          1. Roberto says:

Lost interest…I leveled off weight at 190 lbs. no side effects and decided to quit taking the supplement. I guess I expected to lose weight quicker, it did help my bloating, but that to leveled off at 43″+/- with this supplement. I still have a bottle left and may try again in the next few weeks. Their instructions were like any other diet, drink plenty of water, exercise, and stop eating before you’re full. I have no financial interest in this product.

    2. Roberto says:

I’ve been taking Bio X4 for 6 weeks (total weight lost, 10 lbs and 3″ from my waist). I have lost 2 more lbs. (190 lbs) and 1/2″ from my waist (44″) in the past 2 weeks. My energy levels the weight loss trend is still good. I continue to the exercise to 4-5 days a week. My appetite has somewhat diminished, it’s easier to stop eating and/or avoid tempting snacks. No significant side effects. I’ll post again in a couple of weeks. I have no financial interest in this product.

    3. Roberto says:

I’ve been taking Bio X4 for 8 weeks, no weight loss or loss in belly size the past 2 weeks, energy levels still good. I continue to the exercise to 3-4 days a week. I’m stuck in a lull, I guess I need to lower my calorie consumption to kick start the weight loss, again. No significant side effects. I’ll post again in a couple of weeks. I have no financial interest in this product.

  10. Tracy says:

I have been taking these for about a month now and even though I haven’t lost any weight, my digestion is good and I have a lot of energy. I haven’t had diarrhea like some have so I guess it’s just different for everyone. I cleaned up my home office and I don’t get sleepy at work anymore. I’m probably going to order more of these when I run out just because I like the way they make me feel. I get a lot more stuff done around my house plus I work a full-time job. I’m 51 and pre-menopausal.

  11. Lizzie says:

I bought two bottles of this after watching the Amy Lee video even though it is decidedly more expensive in Canada due to shipping and exchange rate. I took a leap of faith anyway. I have taken 3/4 of a bottle with only negative effects of headache and terrible constipation. I have had none of the advertised positive outcomes. I know it says it may take 90 days to work I cannot tolerate the side effects so am stopping it.
