We take an in-depth look below to see just how good Body Lab Thermodynamic Total Burn really is.
Thermodynamic Total Burn has become popular recently because it is endorsed by Jennifer Lopez, who appears on the bottle. It is a product targeted to women, although the official website does not explain why it will benefit women specifically, other than women may struggle to lose weight more than men because they store body fat more easily than men.
Adults take two (2) capsules in the morning and two (2) capsules with your main meal for a total of four (4) capsules daily.
Always take with a full glass of water. Use in conjunction with any sensible diet and exercise program. Individual results will vary.
Each bottle of Thermodynamic Total Burn contains 60 capsules. As consumers are instructed to take two servings of two capsules per day, a single bottle will only last for 15 days of use.
Thermodynamic Total Burn is manufactured by Body Lab, an American company who describe their products as,
An innovative, research-based line of health and fitness formulas designed specifically for a woman’s body.
The official website has the following description for Body Lab Thermodynamic Total Burn.
This is the ultimate thermogenic formula for powerful fat burning, increased metabolic rate and enhanced energy. Women store body fat at a much higher rate than men, whereby our fatty tissues act as a “sink” for fat storage. Total Burn is designed to switch a woman’s body into fat-breakdown mode in order to preferentially burn away her body fat “sinks” and use them for fuel. This helps us lose weight in the form of actual fat mass over lean body mass, all while increasing energy.
Body Lab Thermodynamic Total Burn consists of a proprietary blend, which contains 866 mg of the active ingredients per serving of two capsules. No individual ingredient quantities are known.
Although it is not made very clear, it may be that the citrus fruit extract comes from bitter orange extract. This is proven to boost the metabolism, but does carry some health concerns. As the real identity of this ingredient is unknown, we can only speculate about the strength of this product.
Guarana is a source of caffeine, which may boost the metabolism mildly, and provide an energy boost. Kola nut and white willow bark may work in conjunction to aid weight loss, although the research into this is outdated, as it paired the ingredients with the now banned ephedra.
Green coffee bean used to be considered a good weight loss aid, but as its main supporting research was fraudulent, it may be that it only aids weight loss as another source of caffeine. Cayenne is thought to increase thermogenesis in the body, but research is mixed as to the results of this ingredient.
Essentially, this diet pill contains a variety of mild fat burners and ingredients that have had mixed results from studies.
If the main ingredient, citrus fruit extract, really does come from bitter orange peels, then there could be some serious side effects caused by the diet pill.
Side effects associated with the use of Bitter Orange extracts include increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, fainting, and even heart attack and stroke in healthy patients. The Mayo Clinic has recommended avoiding use of Bitter Orange extracts because in their opinion, the risk of using the product is not worth the pay-off of some weight loss that could be achieved using other means.
Consumers should remember that the effects of bitter orange extract are enhanced when combined with caffeine. Caffeine can lead to headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness and insomnia.
Whilst cocoa extracts are considered safe in general (hence its use as the primary ingredient in chocolate), it can cause allergic skin reactions, constipation, and might trigger migraine headaches. It can also cause digestive complaints including nausea, intestinal discomfort, stomach rumbling, and gas.
Cayenne can cause various symptoms which can include stomach irritation and upset, sweating, flushing, and a runny nose. White willow extract should not be consumed by anyone allergic to aspirin, as they have a similar active compound. Alpha Lipoic Acid can cause blood sugar levels to drop; people who are diabetic should consult their doctor before use.
Not for use by individuals under the age of 18 years.
Do not use if pregnant or nursing.
This product contains a xanthine mixture (i.e., caffeine and caffeine-like stimulants), of about 100 mg per serving.
Consult your physician before use if you are taking medication, are sensitive to stimulants, or have a medical condition.
If you are allergic to Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) or other salicylates, do not use this product.
Discontinue use two weeks prior to surgery.
Use only as directed.
Keep out of reach of children.
I’ve been using this for one week now (a full 7 days) and I’ve lost 6 pounds. My starting weight was 258 and I’m at 252 now. My waist was 52 inches it’s now 49.5 My hips were 51 inches they are now 50 inches my bust was 47 inches my bust is now 44 1/2 inches. I’ve also been doing the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels as well as following a diet. No red meat, no fast food( mainly sit down restaurants with a healthy menu. )Just chicken and fish, I stopped drinking soda and juice, I’ve been really trying hard to drink water but I really hate it, so I use crystal light. I’ve also been drinking the body lab protein shake with coconut milk and a banana once a day (1/2 before a workout the other 1/2 after a workout) I haven’t noticed my energy going up, I get extremely hungry after 2 hours and I usually eat a handful of peanuts or almonds until my next meal (working in a hospital pharmacy it’s pretty hard to actually eat a meal instead of snacking) I’m going to continue with this until I run out of the capsules. If I see a big difference at the end of the second week I will definitely buy another bottle.
Whilst there are customers who have reported weight loss whilst using these diet pills, they also mention that they are following strict weight loss regimes and following daily exercise programs. It seems that the weight loss could be from these other factors, and that the diet pill is merely supporting this weight loss.
Consumers who do not mention other strict weight loss measures or merely report ‘eating healthily’ seem to dislike the product due to a lack of results. Some people have also experienced some side effects.
My stomach killed me after taking this. It made me feel bloated and heavy all day long.
Didn’t do anything for me.
Don’t waste your money. Took exactly as directed, together with healthy diet and exercise. Not effective at all, no results. Maybe had a little more energy, but that’s it. I will not purchase again.
Do not waste your money, it is absolutely not worth it, and forget about getting your moneyback, by the time you are able to get on hold with body lab you realize that you are past 30 days money return date. How did that happen? After 7 days of taking those huge pills 5 a day, I gain two pounds. I did exercise and ate right.
Overall, the customer reviews are not very encouraging. The customers who did see weight loss whilst using this diet pill tended to be following very dramatic and strict diets and exercise programs at the same time- one customer who lost 10lbs whilst using the product was also only consuming 800 calories per day.
The ingredients list mostly contains mild stimulants and mild fat burners. The main ingredient is citrus fruit extract; whilst this could be bitter orange extract, a stronger fat burner, it could also be any number of different citrus fruits, including grapefruit, lemon or sweet orange. This lack of information does not help to establish how strong the product is. We believe that Body Lab Thermodynamic Total Burn is on the whole, not a very strong weight loss aid.
Thermodynamic Total Burn is available from numerous online retailers, and may also be available in selected stores of Walmart and GNC.
The official Body Lab website offers a single bottle of Thermodynamic Total Burn for $29.99.
Customers can also sign up for the company’s auto-ship program, with subsequent deliveries of the diet pill costing the reduced price of $23.99 per bottle. However, we do not recommend signing up for auto-ship programs such as this, even with reputable companies or websites. Customers can easily end up with a surplus of the product, or forget about the delivery and be left out of pocket. Some companies make it difficult to cancel the auto-ship program, as they have trained customer service representatives to talk customers out of cancelling.
In this case, we also suggest that customers do not sign up for the auto-ship program, because the product only lasts for 15 days, but would be delivered monthly, making this an inefficient option. It is also available cheaper elsewhere.
From Amazon, a single bottle costs $20.00, with free delivery on orders over $35. From GNC.com, a single bottle costs £29.99, but members can get it at the discounted price of £25.99. Walmart represent the cheapest option, with a single bottle costing $17.88 plus delivery.
Body Lab offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the products purchased directly from their website. This guarantee starts from the date the products are delivered to the customer. Products purchased from another retailer may not be covered by a money back guarantee.
Overall, we are not that impressed by Body Lab Thermodynamic Total Burn. The large number of capsules that consumers need to take means that a single bottle will last for only 15 days. Despite the low cost of a single bottle (when shopping around), this means that the product costs a lot more to use in the long run than people may expect when initially considering the product.
The ingredients list presents a number of different problems. First of all, the lack of ingredient quantities makes it difficult to judge the strength of the product. The lack of clarity in naming some of the ignredients (e.g. citrus fruit extract) means that consumers cannot get an accurate idea of the possible results and side effects that they could expect.
The manufacturer fails to explain just how this product is designed for women, rather than just being targeted at women who find it easy to put on excess weight. However, the company do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee when the product is purchased from their official website.
Overall, there is not enough support from the clinical evidence and customer reviews to approve this poorly performing product.
