Capsiplex Plus is actually two bottles: one bottle of the original Capsiplex and one bottle of 5-HTP to take alongside it. Lots of celebrity endorsements led to a surge in sales of the original version, and then the company developed the “improved” version. Whilst Capsiplex Plus does contain some promising ingredients, it is very costly and has some poor customer feedback. There is no money-back guarantee either.
We take a look to see how, and if, it works.
Capsiplex Plus is advertised as a fat burner, which is manufactured by a company called Advanced Health Limited. Its main ingredient, capsicum, has been shown in some clinical studies to help burn fat and is said to have the effect of firing up your metabolism. There are currently two types of Capsiplex; these are Capsiplex, and Capsiplex Plus 5-HTP.
The original Capsiplex set of ingredients includes caffeine (around two normal cups of coffee) so if you are sensitive to this ingredient you may experience temporary side effects, such as anxiety, nervousness and insomnia. In fact, some consumers have reported increased sweating and elevated heart rates.
Capsiplex Plus is available without prescription directly from the official website and costs $70 (£42.95) for one month. You can make great savings, paying a much better $50 (£30.70) per box, when you take advantage of the buy 7 for the price of 5 offer.
As with all of our reviews, our first step was to contact the manufacturer for a sample for our in-depth review. In this case, we get in touch with Advanced Health, who manufacturer Capsiplex Plus; they were happy to send us a sample.
On first receiving Capsiplex Plus we were surprised to see that in fact you don’t just get one but two bottles in the box! Before you get too excited thinking you get 2 bottles of Capsiplex Plus for the price of one, one bottle is the original Capsiplex and the second is a 5-HTP supplement to take alongside Capsiplex.
Although not obvious from the official Capsiplex Plus website, the idea is you take one each day of the original Capsiplex pills along with one of the 5-HTP supplement. This does mean that the original Capsiplex ingredients are not diluted to make room for the additional ingredients!
The original Capsiplex formula was, and still continues to be, a popular choice with consumers. With a number of celebrities who have supposedly endorsed Capsiplex and largely positive attention in the media, sales of the original Capsiplex went crazy in 2010.
Take one capsule with water 30 to 60 minutes before exercise. On a non-workout day you should take a tablet before breakfast, it is advised that you do not take before bed.
The reason for Capsiplex success lies in its capsicum extract formula. Found in red chili peppers, capsicum extract has been found to burn as many calories as 80 minutes of walking or jogging for 25 minutes.
Unlike many diet pills that use the potent chilli ingredients, the manufacturers of Capsiplex use a patented outer layer that prevents any throat or gut irritation.
Capsiplex Plus has the original formula with an extra ingredient called 5-HTP, or 5-Hydroxytryptophan it’s full name, is a compound responsible for producing serotonin.
Serotonin also called the “happy hormone” is a vital brain chemical essential for regulating your mood. So if your serotonin levels are too low you could suffer from low mood, anxiety and depression. You could also find that you crave carbohydrates too!
A number of celebrities have recently claimed to be using 5-HTP supplements to combat depression and anxiety. In fact, a video of Jim Carey describing his experience with 5-HTP is available on the Capsiplex Plus website.
“How can 5-HTP Help Weight Loss?
Do you regularly feel low, suffer from mood swings, crave for sugary foods and over eat? If so, you may have low serotonin levels that could be contributing to your weight gain.
Getting enough 5-HTP from the foods you eat is unlikely but supplementing your diet with 5-HTP can help to significantly increase serotonin levels, with beneficial results.
… obese patients taking 5-HTP greatly reduced their carbohydrate intake and achieved better weight loss.
American Journal of Clinical Nutrition
Constantly trying to lose weight and yo-yo dieting will cause low self-esteem and inevitably a sense of failure. 5-HTP may provide the answer by promoting a more positive outlook when dieting.
One thing is certain, fighting obesity and controlling your food intake will be much easier when you’re happy and feeling great!”
Capsiplex Plus contains a number of interesting ingredients. That said, improving the mood and increasing metabolism may not be enough to cause the loss of weight in certain people. We have come across both positive and negative reviews about this product. Ultimately, there is no conclusive evidence it really works.

Capsiplex Plus uses exactly the same ingredients as the original Capsiplex formula adding 2 new ones, 5-HTP and Bioperine. The addition of these two extra ingredients the manufacturer suggests makes Capsiplex Plus work even more effectively.
The original Capsiplex set of ingredients includes caffeine (around two normal cups of coffee) so if you are sensitive to this ingredient you may experience temporary side effects, such as anxiety, nervousness and insomnia. In fact some consumers have reported increased sweating and elevated heart rates!
If you suffer from any heart conditions or are pregnant you are advised to consult a doctor prior to taking Capsiplex Plus.
This supplement is safe for diabetics but is not suitable for vegetarians as gelatin is contained in the capsule gel.
You are not advised to take this supplement if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding and suffer from any pre-existing medical condition.
Capsiplex Plus is a new diet pill having been released in December 2011 so there are few consumer reviews available.
There are only 3 independent customer reviews on Amazon at the moment as it seems that Capsiplex Plus is no longer available on this site. The feedback is not too encouraging from the small number of consumers who have reported on this product, giving it a paltry 1.7 out of 5 stars.
One Amazon customer made the following comments…
This product has made no difference for me – very disappointed. It has not lived up to any of the promises made
There is no mention of a money-back guarantee on the official website.
Capsiplex Plus is available without prescription directly from the official website and costs $70 (£42.95) for one month. You can make great savings, paying a much better $50 (£30.7) per box, when you take advantage of the buy 7 for the price of 5 offer.
Capsiplex Plus ships worldwide and they have a 24 hour order and customer support telephone number.
It seems fairly typical these days after a successful product launch to see the new, super duper version of the original to be released. It’s easy to be dubious about such products. We were!
There is little denying that the original Capsiplex diet pills has helped some dieters to successfully lose weight. As Capsiplex Plus is based on the original formula then so could this supplement help weight loss too.
We have to admit we have concerns. When researching this product, you soon find a number of poorly constructed websites claiming it’s the best diet pill ever. This is a message we are all too familiar with and, as a result, are sceptical.
In summary, Capsiplex Plus is a fairly costly supplement that may help weight loss, but with the poor consumer feedback and lack of a money-back guarantee we have rejected it!
