Chiro Thin

Chiro Thin comes in the form of liquid diet drops, designed to help you lose weight while following a weight loss programme that comes with the supplement. In our opinion, Chiro Thin looks little better than an expensive scam and although you may lose weight short term thanks to the extreme diet, your success will have nothing to do with this supplement.

  • Effectiveness
  • Safety
  • Price / Guarantee

Pros

  • If you follow the diet plan and only eat 500 calories a day, you will lose weight

Cons

  • This supplement will do nothing to support your weight loss
  • Very expensive – around $550 for a six-week program
  • No ingredients profile
ChiroThin is a diet drop supplement and very low-calorie weight loss diet plan that may help you lose between 23lbs – 40lbs over the 6-week programme. However, you cannot buy the drops yourself and go it alone. Instead, you use ChiroThin solely under the guidance of your chiropractor.

We take an in-depth look at ChiroThin to find out more.

ChiroThin Overview

What you need to know about ChiroThin

We are not very impressed with ChiroThin. As with all diet drop programs, any weight loss will come from you sticking to a dangerously low-calorie diet, with the supplement providing a minimal placebo effect if you are lucky.

Even worse, ChiroThin is only available via your chiropractor, which in our opinion gives this supplement credibility it does not deserve.

People tend to trust their chiropractors and consider the profession in a similar way to dentistry or osteopathy. It seems surprising that a trained so-called professional would sign up to selling such a dodgy looking weight loss program, but at $550 for what is essentially 60ml of unknown “special” liquid, we can all see the cash motivation at work here.

Even if the chiropractor believes in the program, is he or she the best person to ask for dietary advice? After all, you would not expect a dietician to cure your back pain, so why should the reverse be true?

What are the side effects of ChiroThin?

It is highly unlikely that ChiroThin drops will cause side effects, but very low-calorie diets can have side effects. These include fatigue, dizziness, irritability, mood swings, lack of concentration, constipation, irregular menstrual periods, intolerance to cold, swelling of extremities such as fingers and, and risk of gallstones.

How much does ChiroThin cost?

Prices will vary depending on your practitioner but you can expect to pay around $550 for the six weeks program.

ChiroThin Key Features

ChiroThin comes in the form of liquid diet drops designed to help you lose weight while following a weight loss programme that comes with the supplement.

ChiroThin is only for use under the guidance of a trained chiropractor so if you want to try it yourself, you will have to find a local chiropractor who subscribes to the program, can sell you the supplement and can supervise you on your weight loss journey. According to the product information, you can lose up to 40lbs over 6 weeks.

There are three phases to the diet.

  • Stage 1: Loading phase where you are required to eat 5000 calories a day for 2 days
  • Stage 2. From day 3 to day 42, you keep to 500 calories a day
  • Stage 3: The maintenance phase. A gradual return to a normal diet

The role of the diet drops is to support your health and your metabolism while you lose weight. However, there is no ingredients list and no details about what this supplement contains.

ChiroThin Key Points

  • ChiroThin is only available from registered chiropractors
  • Costs $550 for a 60ml bottle of unknown liquid
  • You must restrict your daily calorie intake to just 500 calories

Eating just 500 calories a day is extreme and will not be easy to stick to for nearly 6 weeks but you will get regular check-ins with your chiropractor who will monitor your general health and progress. There is a diet plan with menu suggestions too. These extra features may help you stick to the diet.

We were surprised to see this supplement and plan associated with Chiropractic.

This branch of alternative medicine specialises in sorting out neck and spinal issues such as strain injuries, sports injuries or back and neck problems that result from ageing, accidents, car crashes or similar.

We hadn’t heard of chiropractic being associated with weight loss but this discipline does have a holistic approach to back problems so for people who are obese achieving weight loss would probably reduce back pain.

Unlike other chiropractic treatments, ChiroThin does not require any musculoskeletal manipulation.

How to Take ChiroThin

There are no details provided about how to take the supplement.

ChiroThin is made by an American company called Chiro Nutraceutical who provide supplements solely to chiropractors. Other products include BP Control a herbal supplement to reduce blood pressure, Natural Ease, a probiotic constipation cure, and more.

To access the website and find out about the supplements you have to register and provide your professional details. Chiro Nutraceutical supplements are not available to private individuals and if you are not a chiropractor yourself, you cannot access this vital information.

All supplements are manufactured in the USA and Chiro Nutraceutical provide full contact details including a customer services phone line and an address. The company is based in Chesterfield MO.

We have not covered Chiro Nutraceutical supplements before but we have reviewed other similar looking diet drop plans including Secret Diet Drops, LDD diet drops and Omnitrition Omni Drops.

ChiroThin Concerns

  • People tend to believe their chiropractor. But is a chiropractor qualified to offer nutritional advice? Why not ask a nutritionist to cure your back pain?
  • This supplement looks like a scam
  • There is nothing about this supplement you couldn’t buy for a fraction of the cost elsewhere

The diet drops are just the window dressing on what looks like an extremely difficult diet to follow. Any weight loss will come from the fact that you are only consuming 500 calories a day, so if you stick to this for 6 weeks, you cannot really fail.

You could lose the same amount of weight if you just did the diet and ignored the diet drops altogether.

Whether or not your weight loss will be permanent afterwards is debatable. In most cases, people soon pile the weight back on once they have finished the diet. Crash dieting like this is known for causing YoYo weight gain.

Although the fact that this supplement and diet plan is obtainable from some chiropractors, so sounds reassuringly medical, it is important to remember that chiropractic is an alternative treatment. Chiropractors are not trained doctors or nutritionists. Chiropractic is not universally accepted and scientific opinion is divided as to the efficacy and safety of some of its holistic beliefs and treatments.

What does ChiroThin claim to do?

According to the product information, “With Over 25.000 Programs Sold.”, “ChiroThin is the #1 Weight Loss Program, ”and is “Exclusively for chiropractors.”

Chiropractors are encouraged to sell the programs in order to help their patients.

When following the Doctor Supervised ChiroThin Weight Loss Program your patients will lose a significant amount of weight. However, the best thing is that the patient is provided with a way to break all of the bad habits that got them to where they are… overweight and needing your help!

The supplement contains:

a host of nutritional ingredients that are well known to aid in fatty acid transportation, fatty acid metabolism, blood sugar stabilization, increase in metabolism and detoxification.

When combined with a healthy and specific amounts and blends of low glycemic index, anti-inflammatory foods, your body will be more efficient at converting stored fat into energy.

However, the ingredients of the supplement are not disclosed and there are no details about the weight loss plan.

Does ChiroThin work?

Taking the 6 weeks ChiroThin weight loss plan may help you lose weight initially but it is unlikely to be sustainable. Dieticians consider that low-calorie diets do not teach eating behaviour that can be maintained which means you cannot learn the skills for effective weight loss long term.

The supplement itself is unlikely to do anything other than a placebo effect. There is zero information about the ingredients and there is no evidence that it will support weight loss or do anything at all.

Perhaps the worst and most troubling feature about ChiroThin is that chiropractors are promoting this supplement and using their professional standing to encourage their patients to sign up.

Is this really the role of the chiropractor? Are they really qualified to prescribe supplements and weight loss plans?

Some health experts have concerns. Dietician Lisa Cimperman, the spokesperson from the Chicago based Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has criticised the chiropractors in a newspaper report saying:

Patients may be more willing to accept a very low-calorie diet from a chiropractor than reading about the diet on their own. Chiropractors do carry credibility. I think it’s a misuse of their professional position.

ChiroThin Ingredients

ChiroThin is a diet drop supplement that you take in combination with a very low-calorie diet. It is available only via participating chiropractors and the crucial part of the plan is the very low-calorie diet plan rather than the supplement.

There are no details about the contents of the diet drops or how and when to take it.

According to the product information, it contains a “host of nutritional ingredients,” but these are not disclosed.

This is not unusual with diet drop diets. All diet drop diet plans are based on Dr Simeon’s Protocol as devised by British endocrinologist (hormone specialist) Albert T Simeons in the 1950s.

He believed that taking diet drops composed of a hormone called Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) found in the urine of pregnant women would cure obesity when combined with a very low-calorie diet.

A key point to Dr Simeons is that the very low-calorie diet is supported with HCG hormone. However, according to the minimal product information, ChiroThin does not contain this hormone. According to all scientific advice, this will not make any difference to the final outcome.

The whole concept of diet drops and HCG hormone has been disproven by science and does not provide any so-called “support” to health or weight loss.

The only way you will lose weight by following ChiroThin or any other diet drop plan is by sticking to a very low-calorie diet and starving yourself on just 500 calories for lengthy periods of time.

ChiroThin Side Effects

It is highly unlikely that ChiroThin drops will cause side effects, but very low-calorie diets can have side effects.

These include:

  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Irritability
  • Mood swings
  • Lack of concentration
  • Constipation
  • Irregular menstrual periods
  • Intolerance to cold
  • Swelling of extremities such as fingers and toes.
  • Risk of gallstones

Caution: Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant breast feeding or trying to conceive. Consult your own doctor before starting this treatment, rather than just taking advice from your chiropractor. Your doctor will know your medical history better than your chiropractor and will be able to say whether a very low calorie diet is suitable for you.

ChiroThin Customer Feedback

We did some online digging and found some newspaper articles and blogs about the ChiroThin experience.

A Springfield publication, the State Journal Register, published a feature about ChiroThin and talked with one satisfied customer.

This man, a 51 real estate developer called Trey Furling, had attended a Springfield chiropractor for years following back pain and took the ChiroThin programme on his chiropractor’s recommendation for the full 6 weeks.

He reported:

The results you get on this diet are pretty phenomenal, I felt really good and surprisingly not that hungry. I quit snacking altogether

He lost 45 lbs using the plan.

Elsewhere feedback for ChiroThin is mainly provided by chiropractors looking to sell the treatment. There do not appear to be many truly independent reviews.

ChiroThin Money-Back Guarantee

ChiroThin does not come with a money-back guarantee.

Where To Buy ChiroThin

You can only sign up for the 6 weeks ChiroThin program via a registered chiropractor. You cannot simply buy the supplement online and follow the directions yourself. You will need to find a local chiropractic clinic selling the program. It does not seem to be available outside the USA.

Prices will vary depending on your practitioner but you can expect to pay around $550 for the six weeks program.

This will include

  • 1 60ml bottle of ChiroThin Formula
  • 1 ChiroThin Instruction Manual
  • 1 ChiroThin Recipe Book
  • 1 ChiroThin Weight Loss and Food Tracking Journal
  • 1 Product Bag

Presumably, this price also includes supervision and support from your chiropractor throughout the weight loss plan.

Watchdog Verdict

Don’t expect the diet drops to actually do anything. They won’t. They are simply there for the placebo effect and whether you choose ChiroThin or any others on the market, this is all you can expect.

It is a very easy decision. In our opinion, ChiroThin looks little better than an expensive scam and although you may lose weight short term thanks to the extreme diet, your success will have nothing to do with this supplement.

We do not recommend ChiroThin.

  1. I lost 22 lbs with chirothin and am not on my second round (six months after first and only gained 1 lb from original loss) and am now down 8.5. The bottle of drops I have contain a full ingredient list, so perhaps you should do your homework – not sure of the date of this review. Many patients and friends I know who have tried Chirothin have lost a lot of weight and have not gained it back. Chirothin does help with future eating patterns, I have struggled with weight for years and now know how to maintain and what foods to cut out, sugar, fat, calories, carbs, etc., and I’ve tried a lot of diets in the past.

  2. I have to disagree with this review of Chirothin. I started 3 and 1/2 weeks ago and have never felt better. Stopped taking Prilosec almost immediately and my blood pressure improved significantly on this program. My Dr. is thrilled with my improved health and weight loss. The drops are not taken with meals. I am eating plenty. I have energy to spare. No bloating. I have 2 and 1/2 more weeks then I will go to maintenance.

  3. This product doesn’t work!!! You lose weight just because you are not eating but the product it self does not do anything, I paid $850 to get sick is not healthy.

  4. I lost close to 60 pounds on the diet and it was pretty easy. After the 1st few days I was satisfied with what I was eating the cravinging almost totally subsided and I was losing weight on a daily basis.I loved the staff and I would recommend the diet to anyone needing to lose the pounds. 5 stars!

  5. You could not be more wrong about Chirothin. I am never hungry on this plan, and I have not had this much energy since I was a kid. I have lost 25 pounds in two weeks so far, and have suffered no side effects.

  6. ChiroThin is a visit to hell!
No one will tell you that your heart will race and pound, nausea, bloody nose, room spinning!! This is on day one (1), 21 Drops and high calories consummed!
You can’t find reviews that are negative! I pray to God that this will pass! Don’t put yourself through this! The Chiropractors should be ashamed of theirselves for selling such a product in to their patients! I don’t trust them for anything now! You can’t do a research to find out what this product is all about! It is terrible!!! Don’t do it!

  7. This website promotes Phentaslim and that voids whatever neutrality it claims. This is “pseudoscience ” We are reading here. Chiropractors are able to advise on weight. FDA approved drugs are necessary at one stage but the side effects may eventually kill you 20 years later. While the price of this product’s accessibility is prohibitive for many, it obviously works. If you follow the “approved” weight loss product, people are confused as to their current medication’s ability to worki with that pill, so BEWARE, you need supervision to learn, know what your physical condition is and how any product alters that.

  8. This has been a great weight loss program. I lost 20# in my first phase and all of my vital statistics went down; i.e., blood pressure went from hypertensive to normal, cholesterol (from 226 down to 185), and inflammation in my body 80%, give/take is gone. My knees to feet were in such pain, I could hardly walk. My doc was on the verge of increasing my bp med and had put me on Lipitor, but I had to stop it because it put me in intense overall body aches and pains. What’s more, I don’t like prescription drugs and their after-effects. This is why I went on the Chirothin plan. It’s all about vitamins, trace minerals, natural supplements, nothing synthetic or chemical. Bottom line, I really feel good and it’s great to have freedom of movement. I’m watching my bp because if it goes any lower, I will have to stop taking my bp medication.

  9. I am currently on the Chiro Thin diet as well. I have to say it has been the easiest thing to do and has worked the best for me hands down. I am down 80 pounds at this point. I am in the locking phase right now and never felt better. As far as any side effects go. I have only had one and that was dizziness at one point. that was a result of my high blood pressure medication being dosed to high for the weight loss. As for that I am no longer taking 2 of the 3 medications that I was dependent on before Chiro Thin.
I would highly recommend this diet to anyone looking to change there weight life style. My Chiropractor works with your emotional well being as well and that has been huge in my weight loss success.
Lastly it is only one thing “AWESOME ” !!!!

  10. This diet is the best. I have lost 20 pounds in 5 weeks and will continue on this diet until I get to my ideal weight. The diet teaches you to stay away from fats and carbs and to eat lean meats for protein, fresh fruits and vegetables. The drops keep me from getting hungry and the capsules help with the weight loss without jitters. I lose on an average 1 pound a day on this diet without starving myself.

  11. I lost over 80 pounds through 2 rounds of this program. It is a 500cal/day diet. I was told that the drops contain something that essentially tricks the body into maintaining a metabolism that burns calories at a higher rate (during the loading phase, you do 5000cal/day to set the pace) while you’re consuming far less, hence the rapid weight loss without your body going into starvation mode.
Now, I don’t know WHAT element of this makes that happen. I wish I did, because like others, I don’t want to pour out a bunch of money for Dumbo’s feather if I don’t need it. However, in retrospect, is was a life changer, as far as resetting habits and clearing out bad ones. Best advice is to see consultation with your chiropractor first, ask all the questions, and decide if it’s right for you.

  12. I am a chiropractor physician and do not sell ChiroThin. I have heard about it and have heard very good things about the program. I find it VERY INTERESTING that this article REJECTS ChiroThin, yet has a product to sell. Don’t see where this is an objective assessment and find this simply a sales pitch for their product.

  13. I am on this diet right now and just so everyone is clear: Expect frequent headaches. I stopped taking the AGGR because of them. Also it is recommended to take a multivitamin with this diet. I do not stick to the 500 calories a day, I don’t want to starve myself. Personally I see this not working for me because I need breakfast and I can eat healthy without the mystery drops, AGGR and colon support pills.
However, I am seeing fast results. I am down 8 inches in my waist and 5 pounds (due to my horrible eating habits over the weekend I have taken 3 steps back and now weigh almost the same as when I started). My coworkers are also on the diet and are all seeing amazing results, but they are also experiencing the same daily headaches. One of them has found that the more water you drink the better.
Overall I disagree with ChiroThin. If you want to lose weight then try cutting out carbs and dairy, up your water intake, and if you are lazy (like me) and don’t exercise then lower your calorie intake. I would also download myfittnesspal to see how many calories you should eat and to keep track.

  14. To make a blanket statement that someone is not qualified to provide a service is foolish.
My Chiropractor has been giving nutritional advice for the 20 years that I know him. He is fit and has helped many people with issues their medical Doctor has failed at with FDA approved drugs, using common sense lifestyle changes and supplementation.
Before saying Chiropractors are not qualified, I think you should take a look at the medical profession and research what the FDA approved drugs they prescribe are doing to people.
Remember all the diet pills the MDs prescribed that almost killed people?

    1. I totally agree with you I am not currently on this program due to the cost but I have seen results in other patients that go to my chiropractor his program is in phases first the loading then there is two meals with 4 0ounces of meat four ounces of veg and then there are free foods that you can eat. the next phase stabilization is breakfast lunch dinner and 2 snacks. Plus his supervision If I had the money I would definately do it. I have more trust in my chiropractor than my doctor he has helped me tremendously and I am now off my blood pressure meds and taking only a few supplents.

  15. I watched my sister-in-law loose a total of 50 pounds doing the chirothin. She lost the weight doing the program more than once. I decided to give it a try myself and I lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks and actually continued to loose weight afterwards. I lost a total of 29 pounds and never felt better. I felt great during the program and after. I also did not pay as much as this sight says it costs. I have a friend who did it after she saw my weight loss and she also looks great now.

  16. I find it interesting that the website does not have the FDA required supplement fact label anywhere. When I see websites like this I usually tell my clients the company is hiding something. I also tell them to stay away until you know what you are putting in your body. I think I will report this company to the FDA and FTC.

    1. Did you report this to the FDA?
You are so right about not finding anything to explain what is in the Drops it what they do.
I just did day one of high calories and 21 drops.
4 hours after the last dose I woke up with a pounding and racing heart, nauseated, bloody nose, and room spinning?
The Chiropractic Office a purchased it from day is a “normal” side effect cleansing the high calories are they kidding! I want this stuff out of my system!! This is a poorly supervised program, the doctor is not involved at all. The side effects are severe.

    2. Your personal experience is real. However, linking your symptoms to a harmless amino acid complex, vitamin 12, and cell salts will cause you frustration. You probably have an underlying condition and other complications that were coincidental. This is not a side effect of the supplement nor of eating 5000 calories.

Each person must be screened by the chiropractic doctor to rule out a contraindicated condition. There is a standard of care the clinician must follow.

Chiropractors are trained in diagnostic skills. One doctor is not representative of the profession just like one medical doctor does not represent conventional medicine. There is a standard of care.

There are other underlying conditions that could cause your symptoms as well.

Just because you ate something and felt sick afterwards is not necessarily the cause, it’s only suspect.

  17. As a doctor of chiropractic, I assure you that most chiropractors are well qualified to propose nutritional advice and counseling patients about wellness lifestyles that include weight loss. For you to specify and limit chiropractic to “sorting out neck and spinal issues such as strain injuries, sports injuries or back and neck problems that result from ageing, accidents, car crashes or similar” is doing a disservice to the vastness of what chiropractic is about. With that said, I am impressed with Chirothin as a weight loss program simply for the fact that a short duration of low calorie eating for weight loss can not only help people physically and psychologically, it can even possibly reverse disorders such as diabetes. Take for example this study:

    http://www.theguardian.com/society/2011/jun/24/low-calorie-diet-hope-cure-diabetes

Not everything that seems too good to be true are scams. There certainly are a lot of them out there, but this one is doctor-supervised by well qualified doctors of chiropractic. Those doctors of chiropractic who are not necessarily interested in supplying their patients with nutritional supplements or weight loss are not participating in this program. As for me, I will be monitoring the patients progress through counseling, blood work, and subjective/objective findings. I will also provide biofeedback to help them insure a lifetime change. Their health is my most important objective and that is another reason for the high cost of the program. It isn’t simply “drops”. It’s the whole guided package and that is what makes Chirothin unique. Thank you for allowing me to comment.

  18. This is a bizarre diet. It’s kind of like the “cave man” diet. It seems to be based on a protein selection such as chicken, fish or meat (4 oz) coupled with a vegetable selection and lots of water. The fruit part is just stupid and is probably based on the idea that you can no longer eat pies, cookies, cakes or any sweets.
Here’s what sold me on the diet. I watched my FAT chiropractor take off 40 pounds in front of my very eyes over a 6 week period. I couldn’t believe it.
I am down 4 pounds but it’s only been 1 week. If I can yank off 6×4=24, I would be thrilled. 6 weeks seems like a short time frame…
