Shakes can be effective for weight loss so does this mean that the Cute Nutrition range will help you shed those kilos? We take a look.
Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake is a meal replacement shake from British company Cute Nutrition and is part of a product range in very sweet flavours targeting young women. You can tell this because of the Cute name and the advertising style, which as the name implies, is very cutesy. Although the Shake seems to contain some reasonable named ingredients, the lack of real information is a joke so you won’t really know whether it will work until you buy it yourself. We have seen a lot better on the market.
This supplement looks pretty safe and potential side effects likely to be mild. These may include bloating, abdominal cramps, thirst, and headaches.
It is not suitable if you are lactose or gluten intolerant.
Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake is not overly expensive. You can buy a 500g tub direct from the official website for £16.00. It is available in all the flavours and should last a minimum of two weeks. Shipping is calculated at the point of sale with UK shipping costing £4.99, EU shipping €8.21 and US shipping $9.97. Canada costs $11.71.
It is also available via Amazon UK for the slightly cheaper price of £14.97. Other Amazon prices are comparable.
Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake is a meal replacement shake that you use to replace a couple of meals a day in order to lose weight. Shakes are easy to use; you just add the Shake powder to milk, mix, drink, and that is your low calorie breakfast and lunch sorted.
There is a choice of flavours: Peaches and Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, and Vanilla.
Shakes are nothing new. They started with bodybuilders looking to lose fat without losing muscle, and are usually based on protein such as whey protein (a milk derivative), soy protein, or pea protein which is a vegan alternative.
Key to whether they are effective or not comes down to whether the Shake contains adequate protein to keep you feeling full and sustained while you don’t eat, and whether you can stick to the plan and not cheat by eating on top of it.
Shakes are not slimming and if you use them as a drink rather than a meal replacement you will probably add weight rather than lose it.
The Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake does not come with very much information about the ingredients profile, only a list of names without any clue as to how much is contained in each serving.
It contains milk protein as the principle ingredient, but the information does not tell us how much there is of it. Casein protein – the main protein in milk, is slow digesting and takes around six hours to fully digest so is most usually combined with other types of protein such as whey protein which work faster. Alternatively some people use milk protein before they sleep. Although this is not the advice here.
Other ingredients include oat flour and flaxseed, both healthy ingredients rich in fibre and with many health benefits. There are also vitamins and minerals and yeast.
All of the components of this Shake look pretty good, but this is totally let down by the inadequate product information which does not provide ingredients quantities. Without this basic info, it is just a list of names that sounds good but could be in such small quantities to be meaningless.
Cute Nutrition is a UK based company. According to the company information the business is based in upmarket Covent Garden London, but the customer phone line is located in not so impressive Slough. It was founded in March 2016.
The company advertise wide across social media platforms Instagram and Facebook and obviously are marketed at a young female audience. The company is “devoted to female health and nutrition”, which is easy to spot because the logo features some lips and because product buyers are called Cuties.
The CEO of Cute Nutrition is actually a man called Tom Wallace who explains that his aim was, “to create the most aesthetically pleasing brand in the market, so both the content and the products are carefully designed and the imagery and videos are an important way of inspiring women to purchase.” Source
Yes, Tom, because what inspires women most is a cutesy name and fluffy pink girly advertising.
You can buy Cute Nutrition products direct from the official website. Alternatively they are on sale from Amazon UK and Amazon USA, as well as the other versions of Amazon across Europe such as France and Germany.
There is very little real information provided about this supplement, just lots of rather patronising advertising, cynically targeting women.
Weight Loss Has Never Been Easier – Do you feel self conscious when you look in the mirror? Lose weight easily and conveniently with our meal replacement shake. A perfect blend of everything that your body needs.
No, not all of us feel self conscious and we would have loved to see more facts about this so called perfect blend.
Lose Weight, Not Energy – Swap up to two meals per day for our balanced and delicious shakes but don’t go hungry or without energy. Our supplement powder shake contains the perfect amount of energy and nutrients.
Here we go again, the perfect amount. It would have been good if this perfect amount had been outlined in the product description, or put on the label where we could see it. Saying “perfect” repeatedly is not convincing anyone.
Sweet Tooth? No Problem – Cut fatty and sugary snacks and treats from your diet with a healthy alternative. Simply swap out a meal or two every day for our delicious low calorie, low fat and low sugar alternative.
How can this Shake be described as a healthy alternative when it comes in such sweet flavours? The flavourings and artificial sweeteners are not going to suit you if you are really trying to improve your overall health for the future or clean up your diet.
Be Proud of Your Body – Enjoy the compliments that you will receive as you walk down the street with pride. Slip into those clothes that were previously too tight and enjoy the new lease of life that you will gain from your weight loss.
Compliments, more attractive, and so on. We are not saying that being proud of your body is a bad thing. Just that this corny advertising has no basis on anything offered by this supplement, and we find it pretty annoying.
This supplement is aimed at young women and girls called Cuties, so the advertisers obviously do not see the need to provide any real information such as an ingredients list or any clinical evidence that this supplement works.
It may work a bit if you can manage to stick to a gruelling diet of sweet flavoured shakes instead of eating proper meals, but it probably will not work very well.
Most protein supplements come with some information about the ingredients profile, and at the end of the day this is what is important.
No matter how many times the product advertising claims the Shakes contain a “perfect blend” or calls us cuties for buying it, we can’t escape the fact that we don’t really know what is in it because this basic information about ingredient quantities is not provided.
Protein Shakes can help weight loss but we think it may be hard going with this one.

Serving size is equal to 3 scoops (35g). However individual ingredient quantities are not disclosed. Each serving contains 130 calories plus the milk content.
Assuming that the minerals and vitamins conform to safe serving sizes, we cannot see any problems with this part of the supplement. Milk, oats, and the various oils are also safe for most people, unless you have a specific issue such as lactose or gluten intolerance.
Any potential side effects are likely to be mild but may include issues such as;
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Do not use if you have any allergies or issues with milk products or are dairy intolerant.
There are customer reviews for Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake, and it is a mixed bag of opinion with Cute Nutrition replying to every comment left on Amazon. There are many positive reviews, such as;
Tastes great, blends well and actually keeps me as full as having a bowl of porridge in the morning
Taste lovely thank you!
There is an issue with the prompt customer service from Cute Nutrition which may explain the high number of positive reviews. A buyer called Louise complained about the Shake and this is what happened,
The seller got in touch and offered a refund as they didn’t want unhappy customers, which I felt was a nice touch.
It wasn’t quite so nice when they started sending passive aggressive emails asking why I hadn’t changed my product review and reminding me that they’d given me a ‘REFUND’ – writing the word refund repeatedly in capital letters!
If you look through the reviews, you’ll see a number of them are from people that have changed the poor reviews to 5 star ones, saying that the customer service was great and that they got a refund.
If you’re happy with the service, leave seller feedback, not a 5 star product review. Getting a refund does not make this product any better, and it’s unfair on other customers to pretend it’s great just because you got a freebie!! Argh!
Despite this, there are still numerous negative reviews with customers mainly complaining about the flavour. Of course everyone has different tastes but this shake obviously does not suit everyone.
Smells amazing but tastes shocking, such a shame I really wanted to keep it up I managed 2 shakes and gagged the whole way through.
Tastes like sawdust!
There is no money-back guarantee, but it seems that you may be offered a refund if you are dissatisfied and buy on Amazon.
You can buy Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake direct from the official website, and if you are outside the UK, this company will ship abroad.
Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake is on sale via Amazon UK, Amazon USA, as well as the Amazon stores located in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy. It is also on sale from Beauty Bay.
We are never keen on gender specific supplements. Whether you are a man who is supposed to be tempted by a product because it is packaged in a plastic hand grenade, or a woman who is supposed to be thrilled by some girly advertising and the use of the word Cute, these novelty products rarely stand up to any scrutiny. Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake is no exception.
This supplement does not provide any real information about what it contains. The ingredients list is almost for decoration because it tells you nothing, and although the product description tells us this is a perfect blend, there is no reason to believe it is true. The principle ingredient milk protein works best for use before you sleep, so is not the best type of protein for daytime use. Having a cute logo does not make it more suitable for women. It is just a distraction.
In our opinion the Cute Nutrition marketing is cynical, and aimed at young women and girls and the fact it has been devised by a male CEO just makes us cross because it is so patronising. The fact that this company seem to be attempting to bribe disappointed customers with refunds does not make us like them any better.
We could have forgiven it all had this supplement been any good. But in our opinion it is all a bit lacklustre and is unlikely to work as well as other protein supplements on the market. Don’t fall for it. There are plenty of protein supplements out there that provide much better qualit,y and will work better than this rather substandard offering.
Overall, we do not recommend Cute Nutrition Weight Loss Shake to our readers.
