Drop Away Diet Drops

Some consumers have lost weight when consuming Drop Away Diet Drops, but this seems to be due to the restricted-calorie diet plan that goes with it. The ingredients list is extensive, but the quantities provided are so small that the drops alone would be unlikely to cause any significant weight loss. There is also no money-back guarantee if you purchase Drop Away Diet Drops.

Drop Away Diet Drops
Drop Away Diet Drops is a liquid weight loss supplement that is causing a huge split in opinion between its consumers; because it needs to be used in combination with a very strict diet plan, opinions are divided over whether the product is actually effective at aiding weight loss, or whether it is merely the highly restricted diet that causes quick weight loss.

Below we take an in-depth look at Drop Away Diet Drops to see just how effective it really is.

Drop Away Diet Drops Overview

What you need to know about Drop Away Diet Drops

We are not impressed with Drop Away Diet Drops. The list of ingredients used in this diet supplement is extensive, and many have been linked with weight loss in clinical trials when used in adequate doses. However, the doses used in the Diet Drops are far from sufficient to aid weight loss, even considering the high absorbency rate.

There is an argument that diet drops are much more easily absorbed into the blood stream than ingredients present in capsules, but we still feel that the active ingredients are not present in high enough quantities to assist with weight loss efforts.

What are the side effects of Drop Away Diet Drops?

The doses used in Drop Away Diet Drops appear to be so low that side effects are unlikely. However, they are still possible, especially if the consumer is sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients.

Side effects could include headaches and cramps, which are more likely to be caused by the low calorie diet plan that comes with the Diet Drops.

How much does Drop Away Diet Drops cost?

Drop Away Diet Drops no longer seem to be available from the official Drop Away website. A single bottle of the drops, containing a 23 day supply of the product, used to cost £34.99, and a pack of three bottles, which should provide a 69 day supply was £94.99.

Drop Away Diet Drops Key Features

Back in 2013, we were asked our opinion on our forum about Drop Away Diet Drops by a consumer; the comment feed exploded into a heated debate about whether or not the product actually works, even bringing the company’s director into the conversation to defend the product.

Customers on facebook have been advised that:

With every Advanced Plus order you will receive a free 20 page diet booklet that includes the plan and plenty of other helpful information to assist you through your journey with us.

Drop Away Diet Drops Key Points

  • Manufactured by Drop Away Ltd
  • 23 day supply per bottle
  • Works best in conjunction with Drop Away Plan (diet)

Drop Away also state that:

The average loss with a course is approximately 20-25lbs depending on how much you have to lose

With a course of the Drop Away Diet Drops being 23 days long, you think it would be enough to lose some weight.

How to Take Drop Away Diet Drops

Directions for use are not detailed on the website. Full instructions come with the product.

When using the Drop Away Diet Drops, customers are encouraged to join the facebook support group and to follow the accompanying diet plan, which recommends a highly restrictive diet, focuses on low calorie foods and avoiding carbohydrates. Customers can also use the company’s Drop Away Easy Shakes as a part of their diet. The Easy Shakes are promoted as a great meal replacement product that is high in protein and fibre, and is sweetened with stevia. However, the second ingredient on the ingredients list is fructose, which is a type of sugar. No calorific information is provided about the Easy Shakes on the official website.

Drop Away Diet Drops Concerns:

  • No money-back guarantee
  • Ingredient quantities appear to be tiny
  • 7 day returns policy

According to the manufacturers, Drop Away Diet Drops are:

Hormone-free, non-homeopathic and contains a proprietary blend of over 20 ingredients.

The ingredients list provided does indeed show 22 ingredients, but considering that two are flavourings, one is purified water, and another is Stevia, a sweetener, it is clear that even this basic description of the product is phrased to over-promote the product’s benefits.

What does Drop Away Diet Drops claim to do?

Below is the description of Drop Away Diet Drops provided by the manufacturer on the official website. What is amazing is that Drop Away actually make no weight loss claims at all about this product, and mention no health benefits. The main focus is on the product’s quick absorption, and how it should ‘maximise the results’ of the strict diet plan offered by the company- there is no indication as to how it will maximise the results, or what the intended results are.

A brand new, stronger and improved formulation that allows these drops to work quicker and absorb much faster than ever before. This means wait restrictions before and after food and drink is significantly reduced as well as the length of time to hold drops under your tongue.

100% natural Drop Away Advanced Plus Drops are specially formulated to complement the brand new Drop Away Advanced Plus Plan.

Hormone-free, non-homeopathic and contains a proprietary blend of over 20 ingredients.

State of the art Drop Technology allowing rapid absorption into the body and now faster than ever before.

This formula is designed especially by Drop Away to maximise the results had by the Drop Away Advanced Plus Plan.

Does Drop Away Diet Drops work?

With no ingredient quantities provided, it is impossible to tell how much of any individual ingredient is used in Drop Away Diet Drops. However, using the doses of vitamin C and chromium picolinate as a guide, it appears that the doses of the active ingredients are tiny, and are therefore unlikely to make any difference to weight loss. The drop delivery system may have a higher absorbency rate, but a high absorption of a tiny amount of active ingredient is not going to be anywhere near as effective as a significant dose of active ingredients that are absorbed into the bloodstream through the stomach.

The diet plan is likely the source of any significant weight loss. Consumers should be careful to avoid stopping the diet plan suddenly and returning to their regular diet; low calorie diet plans can actually lower the body’s metabolic rate as the body enters starvation mode, and so returning to a higher calorie diet suddenly is the reason that many people regain weight quickly after following these types of diets.

The diet drops could have a placebo effect, but we do not believe that the product is effective at aiding weight loss.

Drop Away Diet Drops Ingredients

The ingredients list as provided on the official website is listed below. No ingredient quantities are provided, other than some NRV percentages for vitamins and minerals. The ingredients list is provided in order of the dosage of ingredients, and so the product primarily consists of purified water.

NRV is the Australian version of recommended daily intake (RDI), and stands for Nutrient Reference Values; our research suggests that 150% NRV of Chromium Picolinate is around 45 µg/day, whilst 5.6% NRV of Vitamin C is only about 2.5 mg per day. This suggests that the doses of all of the ingredients are tiny, especially when compared to the doses used in successful clinical trials.

  • Purified Water
  • Vitamin C (5.6% NRV*)
  • Stevia: a sweetener.
  • L-Carnitine: There is some evidence that supplementation of acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. The ingredient also boosts energy levels, and is used to treat fatigue.
    Source: http://examine.com/supplements/L-Carnitine/
  • L-Arginine: This essential amino acid is plentiful in foods and can be made by the body. Important for wound healing and circulation.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/heart/arginine-heart-benefits-and-side-effects
  • L-Ornithine: An amino acid. One outdated study linked its use with improvements in lean mass and power output in weightlifters, but these results have not been replicated elsewhere.
    Source: http://examine.com/supplements/Ornithine/
  • L-Glutamine: An essential amino acid, which is a building block of protein (muscle).
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/glutamine
  • Menthol: flavouring
  • Natural Cherry Flavour: flavouring
  • Beta Alanine: An amino acid that may improve athletic performance.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/beta-alanine
  • Liquorice Extract: used to treat digestive problems, but can cause water retention.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/licorice
  • Chromium Picolinate (150% NRV*): This is used primarily to lower fasting blood sugar levels and to lower insulin levels in people who have type 2 diabetes. In terms of its potential effect upon weight loss, it is possible that taking chromium picolinate by mouth for 2 to 3 months might produce a small weight loss of about 1.1 kg. Obviously this is an incredibly small amount of weight loss, but studies are still inconclusive.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/CHROMIUM
  • Calcium Pyruvate: Thought to increase the breakdown of fat.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/pyruvate
  • Irvingia Gabonensis Extract: Whilst many of the studies of African Mango have been funded by supplement manufacturers (which makes them automatically biased), there are promising preliminary results that suggest IGOB131, a substance extracted from African Mango, supresses the appetite and leads to weight loss.
    Source: http://www.lipidworld.com/content/8/1/7
  • Spirulina Powder: This algae is high in iodine, which is required by the body for proper function of the thyroid, which helps to regulate weight, among many other functions. Iodine deficiency is rare, and so supplementing iodine is thought to have little effect upon fat burning in the body.
    Source: http://www.nhs.uk/vitamins-minerals/Pages/Iodine.aspx
  • Green Tea Extract: Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins increase thermogenesis in the body, whilst caffeine increases energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism slightly for few hours.

  • MACA Powder: A Peruvian plant that has been used for numerous ailments, including infertility and to boost the sex drive. No clinical evidence has been presented to support any use.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/maca
  • Ginger Root Powder: Some studies suggest that ginger root is an appetite suppressant. One study used dried ginger powder to make a tea that participants drank with breakfast. Researchers found that satiety levels were much higher when the tea was consumed with breakfast, rather than just the breakfast on its own.
    Source: http://www.progressivehealth.com/ginger-for-weight-loss.htm
  • Guarana Extract: A berry that is naturally high in caffeine, it is often an ingredient in energy drinks and diet pills. Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive.
    Source: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/caffeine
  • Capsicum: Capsaicin is found in Cayenne pepper (also known as capsicum annum) and is thought by some to play a role in weight loss. Some studies suggest it could suppress the appetite mildly, whilst others suggest that the heat causes a thermogenic reaction in the body, burning more calories for a period of time. However, there are also studies that show cayenne has little or no effect upon weight loss attempts.

  • L-Tyrosine: Some people use Tyrosine as an appetite suppressant, but there is little clinical evidence that it is effective for this use. Large doses of tyrosine may be useful for increasing alertness, especially in people who are sleep deprived.

Drop Away Diet Drops Side Effects

The doses used in Drop Away Diet Drops appear to be so low that side effects are unlikely. However, they are still possible, especially if the consumer is sensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients.

Side effects could include headaches and cramps, which are more likely to be caused by the low calorie diet plan that comes with the Diet Drops.

Drop Away Diet Drops Customer Feedback

There are no customer reviews of Drop Away Diet Drops on the official website for the product. However, we have received numerous comments about the product on one of our forums, both positive and negative.

I have commented on these diet drops site telling them i have discovered that these drops dont work and its the very low cal diet making ppl loose weight not there drops and they took my comment off an blocked me with no explanation that said everything to me.

I bought an unopened bottle of these off ebay from a customer who fell pregnant. They cost me £28 with free postage which was good considering they are £35 on the drop away site. I followed the diet plan provided on the drop away website (cheated one saturday night and had a twix) I was on the diet for 3 weeks and lost 4lb. I believe I paid £28 for a bottle of water. I didn’t leave bad feedback on the e-bay seller’s page because it’s not his/her fault that the product is bogus. My opinion is that everyone should stick to what we know best, weight watchers and slimming world. As for the director commenting on here trying to defend her product – what a laugh. If an unhappy customer or something slanders Virgin, we don’t see Richard Branson telling them to message him on Facebook to discuss it. That’s laughable business tactics.

My wife bought these and took them to her doctor for approval, he pretty much told her that there was nothing in there that would cause drastic weight loss. She returned them and eventually got a refund. The drops dont work. Its a placebo.

There are numerous glowing reviews of the product, but customers who lost significant amounts of weight invariably followed the accompanying diet plan to the letter as well. This does not help us to establish which element of the weight loss plan is the effective part. We also have no feedback about whether these huge amounts of weight loss were maintained after the product is no longer being used and consumers return to a less regimented diet plan.

I am now on my 3rd bottle of Drop Away Diet Drops and I could not be any happier with the product or the results. Such a varied diet and food choices are large!!! I started this at 13st 3lbs and I am now down to 10st 10lbs. I had lost my first 29lbs in 44 days without any problems atall. Now on third bottle to shift last 10lbs. The support from everyone on the group is also amazing, I would recommend these to anyone and I have and they too are having ENORMOUS results.

Drop Away Diet Drops Money-Back Guarantee

These 7 days begin the day after your order is received. Please note we can only refund or exchange an item that has been unopened and the tamper proof seal still intact. You will need to return the item(s) to: Drop Away Ltd, Units 26 & 27, Addison Road, Port Talbot, South Wales SA12 6HZ.

Where To Buy Drop Away Diet Drops

Drop Away Diet Drops no longer seem to be available from the official Drop Away website. A single bottle of the drops, containing a 23-day supply of the product, used to cost £34.99, and a pack of three bottles, which should provide a 69-day supply was £94.99.

Watchdog Verdict

No money-back guarantee is offered by Drop Away and their returns policy is only for seven days after purchase, on unopened products. The product is fairly expensive, especially as we believe that it will not aid weight loss.

Customers do receive a free diet plan with any order of the product, but the claims made that consumers can lose approximately 20-25lbs over a 23 day period is either an exaggeration, or proof that the diet is too restrictive to be sustainable in the long term. An overly-restricted diet can also reduce the consumer’s metabolic rate, as their body enters starvation mode. This makes regaining weight after the diet has ended much more likely.

Overall, the claims made by the manufacturers about Drop Away Diet Drops are definitely dramatic and likely not attainable. Customers are unlikely to lose weight using this product unless following a very strict diet plan that limits calories so much that weight regain is likely after the diet has ceased. We cannot recommend Drop Away Diet Drops to our readers.
