We have reviewed one SutraHealth product before here at DPW, and have decided to look again at this mysterious company’s product range. Below we take an in-depth look at FenTrim, an appetite suppressant that SutraHealth sell exclusively through amazon.
Fen Trim is an appetite suppressant manufactured by Sutra Health.
There is very little information available about SutraHealth. Some of their product labels refer to a web address for the company, although the website is no longer in operation. The product label also provides an address for SutraHealth, stating that they are based in Utah. It seems that SutraHealth stopped paying for an official website, and have scaled back their operations, choosing to sell their range of products solely from amazon.
They do not provide any direct contact details, although customers can contact them through amazon.
Phentermine, a prescription only appetite suppressant, often comes as a white tablet speckled with blue dots. Fen Trim also comes as a white tablet speckled with blue dots, which the company draws attention to on the product bottle. This direct comparison has led many customers to state in their reviews of the product that they feel duped by the company.
The decision to make the Fen Trim capsules appear this way appears to be a calculated decision to boost sales by making customers feel that this is a strong appetite suppressant that is a good prescription-free alternative to Phentermine. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as we discuss below in the ingredients section.
Take one or two Fen Trim tablets on an empty stomach approximately a half hour before breakfast, and again take one or two tablets a half hour before lunch. Avoid taking this product late in the day.
The sales page for Fen Trim lists the following benefits:
The ingredients list for Fen Trim is explored below. Each capsule provides 525 mg of ‘a super strong appetite suppressant formula.’ No individual ingredient quantities are provided. Each bottle contains 60 capsules, which will last for 30 days of use.
There are some ingredients used in this diet pill that have been clinically proven to be effective at aiding weight loss. What is worrying, however, is that despite FenTrim being marketed primarily as a powerful appetite suppressant, there is seemingly no strong appetite suppressing ingredients present in the diet pill.
Caffeine may act as a very mild appetite suppressant, but it is better known for mildly increasing the metabolism. 7-Keto has shown some promising results in clinical trials for increasing the rate of weight loss in those who are already exercising and dieting. Carnitine supplements have been shown to aid fat burning, but only in one age group, the elderly; overall it is unlikely to be a good fat burner for all consumers.
L-Phenylalanine may improve mood, but has no known link to weight loss. Synephrine, caffeine and theobromine are stimulants of varying strengths. Theobromine is a weak stimulant, and so a large quantity is required to make any changes to the metabolism.
There is always a risk with any supplement that some side effects could occur. Below we take a look at some of the potential side effects that could occur from taking FenTrim.
Side effects associated with the use of synephrine include increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, fainting, and even heart attack and stroke in healthy patients. The Mayo Clinic has recommended avoiding use of bitter orange extracts including synephrine because in their opinion, the risk of using the product is not worth the pay-off of some weight loss that could be achieved using other means. Consumers should remember that the effects of synephrine are enhanced when combined with caffeine. Caffeine can lead to headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness and insomnia.
Supplementing L-carnitine can cause nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures.
Whilst cocoa extracts are considered safe in general (hence its use as the primary ingredient in chocolate), it can cause allergic skin reactions, constipation, and might trigger migraine headaches. It can also cause digestive complaints including nausea, intestinal discomfort, stomach rumbling, and gas.
Not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Not suitable for those under the age of 18. Not suitable for those who are sensitive to caffeine or other stimulants. No suitable for anyone with any heart related health condition, including high blood pressure.
There are numerous reviews for this product on the amazon sales page. What is worrying is that some of the reviews appear to be for a different diet pill PhenApex, which we have reviewed previously here at diet pills watchdog. This brings into question the authenticity of some of the reviews that customers have left. Some customers have also noted that they received a discount in return for a review:
I have been using Fentrim for a few weeks now. Some pros of the product from my experience. I do find taking it with a glass of water does help with my appetite. It says to take 30 minutes before a meal. I do this and I still feel hungry when I’m eating but it does seem that I don’t feel constantly hungry in between meals. As for energy, I can eliminate my morning coffee and not lose that pep it usually gives me. Cons. I haven’t actually seen any weight loss in the few weeks I’ve been taking it. The other con I have is that the 60 tablet bottle is marketed as a 30 day supply. However, the directions say you can take 1 or 2 tablets before breakfast and 1 or 2 tablets before lunch. If you followed the maximum dosing option it would only last 15 days. I’ve been taking just one tablet before each meal.
Overall I would recommend trying this. Prior to starting I’d been gaining weight but I have stopped gaining. I haven’t lost any but I also have not attempted any change in diet or exercise. I do like the energy I feel without having to drink coffee. Plus I like not feeling hungry constantly in between meals. That is a big plus. I don’t feel the need to munch on something everytime I pass through the kitchen. I think for an appetite suppressant I think it works pretty well.
Please note I have received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review.
I bought these pills after all the ratings and wonderful comments I read and was hoping they were like the Phentermine. I know everyone is different but me personally these DID NOT work. I took them like the bottle said, started eating healthy and started the T25 work out and these pills didnt help at all, no energy or weight loss.
These supplements didn’t curb my appetite. I took the recommended doasge in the morning and by noon I was hungry. I workout everyday for 45min and I’m a vegetarian. I purchased these pills to speed up the weightloss progress. I didn’t lose one pound. Ive taken adipex and the generic adipex and these supplements are nowhere in neighborhood of the adipex supplement. These supplement are just blue and white with no efforts on curbing your appetite.
These pills are probably vitamins with speckles on them. In fact, I was probably more hungry on these and had zero energy. Don’t waste your time or money, they do ZERO. This review is for the product itself, not the seller. They were very accommodating and gave me a partial refund for returning the opened bottle.
Customers who purchase Fen Trim who are looking for a replacement for a prescription strength appetite suppressant are going to be disappointed with the lack of appetite suppression caused by this product.
There are no strong appetite suppressing ingredients used in this diet pill, but there are several metabolism boosting ingredients and ingredients that may increase the body’s fat burning capabilities. Because there are no individual ingredient quantities provided, it is difficult to establish just how strong this product really is.
There are several ingredients that need to be supplemented in high doses to make an impact and work effectively, and it is highly likely that the dosing of FenTrim does not match the doses proven to be effective in clinical trials.
From the available evidence it appears that consumers could lose some weight whilst using this product, but it is not an appetite suppressant as claimed by the manufacturers.
Fen Trim is available from amazon, where it is sold in a number of different sizes; there are bulk buy discounts available. A 30 day supply of FenTrim costs $42.95. A 60 day supply costs $69.95 and the largest multi-buy offer available, a 90 day supply, costs $89.95. All sizes of order come with free shipping.
As there is no available information about the manufacturers, it would appear that there is no money-back guarantee for FenTrim. Customers will have to rely upon amazon’s returns policy when ordering this product.
Overall, we are far from impressed by FenTrim.
The manufacturers claim that this product is a powerful appetite suppressant, but we can see no evidence that any appetite suppressing ingredients are used in the formula. There are some ingredients that may boost the metabolism, aiding weight loss, but the product does not work as advertised.
With no ingredient quantities provided, it is also difficult to establish just how strong this product is, and how effective it may be at boosting the metabolism. Without any ingredient quantities it is also difficult to establish the likelihood of side effects occurring.
The product is available exclusively through amazon. Whilst there are many reputable companies operating through amazon to take advantage of a well-known selling platform, we have concerns about SutraHealth, who manufacture FenTrim. They provide no information about themselves, and whilst it appears that they did have an official website in the past, it has been shut down.
The company has also made the decision to make FenTrim tablets look like Phentermine tablets, which are usually white with blue speckles. This decision is a calculated and underhand attempt to boost sales by associating two completely unrelated products, and has left many customers disappointed and feeling duped by the company. There is no money back guarantee, but customer comments indicate that a partial refund is possible in some circumstances.
Overall, it is impossible to recommend FenTrim to our readers.
