What You Need To Know About Fit Tea Detox

We feel that the company overstates the potential effects of some of the ingredients used in Fit Tea Detox. For example, the company claims that ginger boosts the metabolism by 20% (on their Ingredients page), but does not cite this: this result came from a study in rats, where the ginger was applied ‘to external tissues’. Consuming ginger, even in large quantities, is not likely to impact the metabolism very much at all, and as a tea infusion is unlikely to make any difference. But, studies suggest that it could help to suppress the appetite.

The ingredients list overall does suggest that the consumption of this weight loss tea could potentially aid a very small amount weight loss if used over a prolonged period of time. It definitely appears to reduce bloating and cause the immediate appearance of weight loss from losing water weight, but these effects are likely to disappear once the product is no longer being used. We also do not like the strong reliance upon diuretics to aid weight loss.

What Are The Side Effects Of Fit Tea Detox?

There are several diuretics in this weight loss tea, and so increased urination, increased thirst and dehydration are all likely side effects. Indicators of dehydration include headaches, thirst, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, and decreased urine output after an initial stage of increased urine output.

Perhaps the most serious worry of using diuretic supplements is that they can cause an electrolyte imbalance in the body. Other ingredients also cause side effects. For a full list, see below.

How Much Does Fit Tea Detox Cost?

The 14 day detox bag costs $25.00 whilst the 28 day detox bag costs $45.00.

Our Verdict On Fit Tea Detox

The fat burning elements of this weight loss tea are not very strong, and not eating a proper diet could easily counteract any benefits that the tea provides.

The lack of money back guarantee is unsatisfactory, especially as the website states 100% satisfaction guaranteed in one section, but actually does nothing to back this up in practice. All sales are final, and returns are seemingly not accepted. The company does offer free delivery, but customers have complained about the long wait between ordering the supplement and actually receiving it. We have also found several complaints about the company’s poor customer service.

Overall, we do not recommend Fit Tea Detox to our readers!

Fit Tea Detox Review

Fit Tea Detox is marketed by its manufacturers as a both a weight loss tea and a detox tea. The product comes in two sizes, a 14 day pack and a 28 day pack. The official website states that the product ‘can be used as a one time detox or as your daily tea to boost energy and metabolism’. The product contains diuretic ingredients, but no laxative ingredients, making it more gentle on the digestive system than other detox supplements we have found, as well as making it suitable for regular use.

Does Fit Tea Detox Work?

When trying to establish whether a product will actually work, we look at the ingredients used, the quantities that they are used in, and also turn to customer reviews, to see how Fit Tea Detox works in practice.

There are three different types of tea in this tea detox, and two of them may aid weight loss, but the effects are likely to be relatively small.

Ginger seems to act as an appetite suppressant, which could aid with weight loss, and would reduce hunger in people who are already dieting, helping them to stick to their calorie restricted diet. Birch is a diuretic, and so could help to reduce bloating, and visually make the consumer look thinner, at least whilst they were using the tea. However, this effect is only temporary.

Being dehydrated can also make muscles appear more defined, although we do not recommend becoming dehydrated on purpose, as this can actually slow the metabolism, as water is incredibly important for many bodily functions. Guarana contains caffeine, as do green tea and oolong tea; caffeine is a mild stimulant, boosting the metabolism slightly, and leading to a slight increase in calorie burn. Its effects upon weight loss, like green tea, are considered small but significant.

However, the effects of most of the ingredients, especially the teas and caffeine content, are unlikely to last more than a few hours, and so this could reduce the results even further if only used once per day as the instructions indicate.

There are some ingredients that are included to improve the taste of the tea, such as stevia. Other ingredients, such as pomegranate, may provide antioxidants, but have no proven link to weight loss.

What Are The Ingredients of Fit Tea Detox?

Fit Tea is a loose leaf tea that contains a blend of: Organic Green Tea, Oolong Wu Yi, Organic Rooibos, Ginger, Pomegranate, Guarana, Birch, Stevia, corn, and Honey Powder. There are no ingredients quantities provided, as this is a blend of loose leaf tea, no two cups will have the same proportions of ingredients anyway. The strength of the ingredients will also depend heavily upon the length of time the tea is brewed for, as more of the active ingredients in the tea will infuse into the water as it brews.

Below we go into more detail about the benefits and potential side effects of each of the ingredients used in this beverage.

  • Organic Green Tea: Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins and caffeine both increase energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism temporarily. However, the metabolic increase caused by green tea is limited. One study found that the use of green tea was not enough to counteract weight gain following a high calorie diet.
    Source: http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/70/6/1040.full
  • Oolong Wu Yi: Oolong tea is a partially fermented tea made from the same plant that black and green teas are made from. Studies have suggested that the caffeine and antioxidants found in Oolong tea improve lipid metabolism in the body, and that chronic consumption of oolong tea could decrease body fat content and reduce body weight by a small amount.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-1099-OOLONG%20TEA.aspx?activeIngredientId=1099&activeIngredientName=OOLONG%20TEA
  • Organic Rooibos: Also known as red bush tea, this tea is semi-sweet and caffeine free. Whilst it is promoted as a great source of anti-oxidants, testing suggests that the bioactives in this plant are not as potent as green tea’s catechins. They are also poorly absorbed by the body. It may help to lower blood glucose levels by moderately inhibiting carbohydrate absorption, but this has only been tested in rodents.
    Source: http://examine.com/supplements/Rooibos/
  • Ginger: Some studies suggest that ginger root is an appetite suppressant. One study used dried ginger powder to make a tea that participants drank with breakfast. Researchers found that satiety levels were much higher when the tea was consumed with breakfast, rather than just the breakfast on its own.
    Source: http://www.progressivehealth.com/ginger-for-weight-loss.htm
  • Pomegranate: High in antioxidants, but not proven to assist with weight loss or to treat any particular ailment.
    Source: http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/herb/pomegranate
  • Guarana: A berry that is naturally high in caffeine, it is often an ingredient in energy drinks and diet pills. Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism, causing a small increase in the number of calories used by the body. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive.
    Source: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/weight-loss/expert-answers/caffeine/faq-20058459
  • Birch: A diuretic ingredient that may give the appearance of weight loss and decrease bloating, but the effects are temporary until the user rehydrates. Consumers should be aware that dehydration is likely.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-352-birch.aspx?activeingredientid=352&activeingredientname=birch
  • Corn: The website states that this is added for added flavour and enhanced aroma.
Stevia: a sweetener that makes the tea sweeter and more palatable without adding calories.
Honey Powder: Adds a sweeter taste, making the tea more palatable.

Does Fit Tea Detox Have Any Side Effects?

Some of the ingredients found in Fit Tea Detox can cause side effects.

Calcium, chlorine, magnesium, phosphate, potassium, and sodium are all obtained from fluids, supplements, and foods, but increasing fluid output can decrease their levels in the body- even sweating due to exercise can significantly lower electrolyte levels. Side effects of low levels of electrolytes include muscle cramps, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, trembling, muscle weakness, and stiff or aching joints. In the most severe cases, more serious symptoms can occur, such as low blood pressure, tachycardia (rapid heart rate), sunken eyes, confusion or loss of consciousness for even a brief moment, and poor skin elasticity. If any of these occur, a medical professional should be consulted immediately.

Consumers should ensure that they drink plenty of water throughout the day whilst using this product.
Caffeine is present naturally in this product thanks to the use of green tea, oolong tea and guarana. Side effects of caffeine include headaches, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, dizziness, jitteriness and insomnia. Green tea can also cause constipation.

The side effects of ginger can include heartburn, diarrhoea, and general stomach discomfort. Ginger can lower blood sugar levels, as can Rooibos tea; low blood sugar levels can cause dizziness, light-headedness and even fainting. Consumers who do not eat regularly are more likely to have low blood sugar levels in general, as blood sugar levels drop as the body breaks down the sugars for energy or stores them.

Pomegranate may interact with some medications, although the research into this is still preliminary. To be on the safe side, avoid pomegranate if taking ACE inhibitors (which control high blood pressure), or Statins (used to lower cholesterol). If unsure, consult your physician before taking the product.

Caution:
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. Not suitable for anyone who is taking medications to regulate blood pressure, especially high blood pressure, as these often act as diuretics as well.

Consumers should ensure that they drink plenty of water throughout the day whilst using this product. Consult your doctor if you are unsure about the suitability of this supplement for you.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Fit Tea Detox?

The reviews for Fit Tea are spread out over the official website, and the company’s social media pages, with many being posted on instagram, complete with before and after pictures.

Fit Tea Detox comes in two different sizes, 14 days and 28 days, but it appears that most of the before and after pictures and testimonials are discussing weight loss achieved over a much longer time period, especially in the reviews posted on their social media pages. Customers should bear this in mind to avoid disappointment. Most of the customer reviews also fail to mention what other efforts they have put into losing weight, such as dieting and exercising.

Below are some of the customer reviews that have been left on the official website.

I was so looking forward to try this tea when I first order. Having to order all the way from Asia, the lead time is frustrating but oh my, the end results are like awesome!!! I lost approx 2kg after a week of trying. Together with their supplements, it work wonders!!! Especially when your BIG day is just around the corner, and you may worry about not being able to fit in your customised dress, well ladies, this is more worth it then those Expensive handbags!!!

Tried the 14 day detox tea. I’ve always had problems with bloating. This tea completely helped with my bloating and also gave me energy. I actually replaced it with my morning coffee!
To be honest I didn’t see a weight change, but id only tried it for 14 days. I also wasn’t dieting or working out. I just ordered more so maybe I’ll see some results!

Well so far I been taking this tea a week and a half first I did notice that it boosted my metabolism. Everytime I ate I felt hungry in the next hour.. Like severe hungry. Now that I’m a week in half through I notice that feeling went away and have more control of my hunger. I also noticed that my weight pretty much stays the same. So I don’t know about promoting weight loss yet. I order the 28 day detox. I also do not notice that it looks I am burning or losing fat I work out everyday 1 hour + So I feel kinda disappointed because all the reviews say that they got rapid result.. I thought it was just drinking the tea alone but now I’m feel that I have to take all the whole set together to aid my fat loss rapidly.

This detox acts like a laxative, helping clean out your stomach so it is expected to have to use the restroom more often. In that way it helps, and therefore makes your stomach look flatter. But you should also drink more water as it will go right out in order to not be dehydrated. Also it may make your metabolism dependent on this tea, so take breaks between uses.

Does Fit Tea Detox Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Despite there being a stamp on the official website claiming that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee, the FAQ page declares that all sales are final, and that no returns will be offered. Orders can be cancelled before they are processed, but this is still only a tiny window to cancel an order.

Edit: Fit Tea now seem to offer a 100% Guarentee – https://www.fittea.com/pages/100-guarantee

Where Can I Buy Fit Tea Detox?

  1. I am only 3 days into the 14 day detox and I have diarrhea with ever glass,,and am sooooo bloated. NOT worth the waste of money.

  2. Can’t thank this site enough for honest reviews & honest comments from people that’ve used the product themselves. Was going to order it and will not be ordering it now. Thanks!

  3. I never got to try it because it never came. Three weeks and they never shipped it. Very poor customer service too. They said they refunded money but will have to see. If you want to order it go to Amazon.

  4. This product was so disappointing, it took over 2 months for them to actually dispatch my order and when I contacted them, they were arrogant and no help at all. The tea, personally, tasted vile and gave me chronic heartburn and the food supplements made me feel nauseous. I bought the super pack, so 28 tea bags and three containers of food supplements and I lasted three days. The service does not care for unhappy customers and the only reason why people lose weight is because they are ill whilst in use of the product, in my personal experience. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone!

  5. So pleased I found this review. My 16 year old daughter took the fit tea with fat burner for 60 days without much results. She was sooo disappointed, but no harm done. My real concern was when I decided to research the postnatal fit tea fat burner for nursing moms. I happened upon a blog which mentioned the vitamin B6 dose may be too high for newborns. After further research I realized this may be true and the postnatal may be dangerous for my newborn. So pleased I found these reviews after taking only 1 dose. So scary!!

  6. I had similar problems. It took forever to arrive and anytime I tried to contact customer service they either ignored it or would tell me to contact them using another method (ex. their email told me to use instagram direct messaging and instagram told me to use email.)
It does taste really good, I don’t think it works better than any other detox tea but it is fairly expensive. Also… just as a side note if they get any negative feedback on their social media pages they delete them right away so I wouldn’t trust the reviews or much of what you read since they only keep the positive reviews and comments.

  7. i purchased fit tea in November and have yet to receive my item. The first email they said they had to confirm my address, which i used my work address and i responded with yes it is correct. They have shipped to me before. Second was from Brian who completely changed my address without my consent and i responded to why did he do that without my approval. Next email was the item was shipped. and I said why its not going to make it to me. No response after. Then finally they said I have to wait since it already shipped. Wait the 10 business days and nothing. Then I emailed and said i have yet to receive my package. And now they said I have to wait 30 days. Is it me or do they really not believe in customer service. I have stayed in contact through the entire purchase and told them they change my address to the wrong location. I ask for a refund and ignored the request. I have to wait again. They don’t care about you so dont bother purchasing anything from these people.

  8. i bought d product came in 2 weeks tried it for 5 days ,saw no diff. didnt do excercise, tried it again with workouts, did not c any diff either still felt bloated, not much hunger during d day and got extra hungry at night ,paid for a 14 day one got a 28 one by mistake so good on that end ,still waiting for results,it affects every one diff.

  9. I bought this product a 14 days detox plan

    Pros
I found the it was a Really nice cup of tea to drink and The aromas and taste is very refreshing, I also found I had LOADS more energy, I felt less bloated and puttin it in a tasteful way, my metabolism definitely sped up ????????????

    Cons
Took FOREVER to arrive literally 40 plus days, over a month which was disappointing
    Little pricey

Overall I would definitely recommend this product ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  10. Hi, I already bought this product, but I have only drank one cup so far. I just wanted to say it’s a breath of fresh air to find a legit review on this with an honest approval or disapproval. Everything I’ve found is obviously fake on so many websites. If anyone cares to hear it, not much of a problem ordering or receiving the product and flavor is good. Not expecting much of a result but I think the note above is spot on about it just getting rid of water weight temporarily.
