FitMiss Burn Overview

What You Need To Know About FitMiss Burn

FitMiss Burn is advertised as a 6-stage weight loss supplement, but all the so-called components of the stages are rolled into just one capsule, so it is just an ordinary weight loss supplement rather than an impressive program as suggested. That said, it has worked for some people and not all the feedback is bad, although side effects may be an issue for some users.

You can buy FitMiss Burn in two sizes of packaging – the 45 servings (90 capsules) or the 60 servings (120 capsules), and you are directed to take 1 – 2 servings a day. The product information warns against side effects, and you are advised to drink 1 gallon of water a day while using and to avoid caffeine and alcohol.

Added concerns are that it contains Uva Ursi which can cause menstrual bleeding, so you need to avoid this supplement if there is any chance you may be pregnant or if you are trying to conceive.

What Are The Side Effects Of FitMiss Burn?

There may be side effects and the product information warns against some of these including chest pains, vomiting, and difficulty in breathing or swallowing.

Some customers have reported side effects including stomach cramps, headaches, diarrhoea, nausea, jitteriness, anxiety, increased hunger, stomach pains, kidney infection, constipation, hot flashes, heart palpitations, and skin eruptions.

How Much Does FitMiss Burn Cost?

FitMiss Burn is not expensive. Buy from the official FitMiss (MusclePharm) website and it costs $24.99 for a bottle of 90 capsules (45 servings). Shipping is calculated at the point of sale.

You can also find FitMiss Burn on sale at Amazon USA for as little as $20, depending upon the seller. We have seen the 60 capsule bottle on sale for as little as $11.00.

UK customers can buy directly from eBay UK, where it is much more expensive at around £41.99 for 90 capsules depending on the retailer.

Our Verdict On FitMiss Burn

There are some good points about FitMiss Burn. This supplement is inexpensive and if you are looking for a fat burner that is high in caffeine you may find that it is effective. However, with over 30 listed ingredients and many of the components in under strength quantities, we don’t understand why FitMiss went through this rigmarole when they could have stripped the supplement down to just a few extracts and it would have been equally effective. As it is, many of the components are just taking up space without doing anything and with each added ingredient so the risk of side effects increases.

We have major concerns about any supplement that adds the information that you should avoid caffeine and alcohol without printing this in large letters so that customers can see. We imagine that most consumers will miss this important notice and run the risk of increasing caffeine-related side effects at least.

Overall, we do not recommend FitMiss Burn to the Watchdog readers. There are just too many unknown factors regarding the ingredients levels, and this combined with the many customer reviews who have mentioned side effects leads us to believe that this supplement is just not safe enough or effective enough to recommend.

FitMiss Burn Key Features

FitMiss Burn is a fat burner diet pill that, according to the advertising, will help you through the six stages of weight loss. It is advertised as a six-stage weight management program which sounds a bit complicated, but in fact, you just take the same two capsules serving throughout and let the ingredients take care of the rest.

Stage 1 and 2 are focused on increasing energy and metabolism, Stage 3 on appetite and weight management, Stage 4 is all about improving mood, and Stage 5 and 6 designed to help you shed water weight and improve digestion. Although this sounds as if each effect will kick in one after another, the fact that all the ingredients are combined in the same capsule suggests that all these effects will be experienced simultaneously.

FitMiss Burn Facts

  • FitMiss is a female only brand from MusclePharm Corporation
  • Caffeine is the principle ingredient
  • Available from a range of outlets including eBay and Amazon

Because FitMiss Burn is aimed at so many different purposes, there are lots of ingredients contained in this supplement. Although this sounds good, it does mean that the risk of side effects may be high and because all these are combined in a proprietary blend, strengths of the individual components are unknown.

You are advised to drink a gallon of water a day which will help keep you hydrated and may help minimise potential side effects.

How to Take FitMiss Burn

  • MORNING: Take two (1-2) capsules with 8 oz of water 30-45 minutes before breakfast
  • AFTERNOON: Take two (1-2) capsules with 8 oz of water 30-45 minutes before lunch
  • Drink a minimum of 1 gallon of water per day while using this product
  • This product should not be taken within 6 hours before bed
  • Avoid drinking alcohol or consuming caffeine from other sources while using this supplement

As well as the mainly herbal ingredients, FitMiss Burn also contains vitamins and minerals. Check out the ingredients tab and the side effects tab to find out more.

FitMiss Burn Concerns:

  • Side effects may be an issue for some users
  • You are advised to drink a gallon of water while using this supplement, but will customers realise?
  • Inadequate ingredients information, so it is impossible to judge the strength of the supplement

FitMiss is a female only brand that comes from MusclePharm Corporation, a supplements company focused on bodybuilding. According to research, the brand was established in 2008 and was specifically designed to meet the needs of women. Over a decade on, this name is looking a bit questionable and a teeny bit patronising to women, although the products themselves seem quite popular. We have covered several FitMiss supplements in previous reviews including FitMiss Delight, FitMiss Tyte, and FitMiss Z Slim PM.

What Does FitMiss Burn Claim To Do?

According to the FitMiss website, FitMiss Burn will,

“FOCUS. BURN. AMAZE!

To burn the fat and lose weight, you have to curb cravings and increase energy levels. With FitMiss Burn™ and its revolutionary 6-stage approach, you can kick-start your metabolism while saying “NO” to pesky cravings*. It’s time to get fit and get sexy!”

The so-called six stages are as follows:

“ENERGY AND FAT METABOLIZER: Stages One and Two focus on helping your body increase natural energy production and metabolism for quicker fat burning. Superior ingredients like green tea extract, guarana seed extract, and more help your body burn fat.

APPETITE BALANCING AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT: Glucomannan, white kidney bean, raspberry ketones, alpha Lipoic acid, and chromium work together to help your body balance your appetite and weight management control in Stage Three.

ANTI-STRESS MOOD BALANCER: During Stage Four, the anti-stress mood balancer created from DL-phenylalanine, 5-HTP, ginkgo Biloba leaf extract, turmeric root, garlic, and Echinacea purpurea extract helps improve your mood and keep you balanced.

WATER SHEDDING AND DIGESTIVE ENZYME AID: A series of complex ingredients including DigeSEB, almond oil powder, kelp, and apple pectin work as digestive aids, while potassium Aspartate, Uva Ursi, and dandelion extract assist in water shedding.”

Does FitMiss Burn Work?

The problem with FitMiss Burn is that it contains too many ingredients, and most of them are in completely inadequate quantities or superfluous.

For example, White Kidney Bean extract and Glucomannan can both be effective for weight loss and appetite control, but you do not need to take them together. In addition, the serving size for both is totally inadequate because the whole formula adds up only to 1.494mg shared out amongst 30 ingredients, and this is not enough for either one to be effective.

There are some good ingredients in this supplement. However, with the principle ingredient caffeine, the caffeine effect is the one that will be most noticeable. This may cause a stimulant effect that may help perk you up so you feel more energised. We would like to say that the green tea/caffeine combo can help increase metabolism because together these two ingredients can be effective. The problem is that we don’t know the precise quantities so it is likely that the caffeine will overpower the rest of the ingredients.

Worryingly, this supplement does contain components that will increase urination and although this is supposed to help you lose “water weight”, dehydration could be an issue. Customers are advised to drink a whopping gallon of water while using this supplement to avoid adverse effects.

Overall, we don’t think FitMiss Burn is particularly effective and side effects could be an issue.

What Are The Ingredients of FitMiss Burn?

Serving size is equal to two capsules. The information here is based on serving size and not capsule size. The supplement contains a blend of B vitamins and minerals which may help support general health.

  • Vitamin B3 (niacinamide)(2mg):
  • Vitamin B5 (calcium D panthonate) (2mg):
  • Magnesium (magnesium gluconate) (3mg):
  • Zinc (zinc monomethione) (666mcg):
  • Chromium (chromium Picolinate)(66mcg):
  • Potassium (potassium Aspartate) (1.16mg):

The principle part of the supplement is based on mainly herbal extracts and is as follows.

Revolutionary Women’s 6 Stage Weight Loss Blend (1,494mg): According to the product information, the principle ingredient is caffeine.

Stage 1 & 2 Energy and Fat Metabolizer

  • Guarana Seed Extract: Brazilian seed which contains more caffeine than coffee beans.
  • Caffeine Anhydrous (150 mg): This type of caffeine is much stronger than the coffee present in coffee, so this will feel much stronger than the 150mg (the equivalent of just over one cup of coffee) implies.
  • Pyroglutamic Acid: Derived from Glutamic acid and very prevalent in the body as it is found in many proteins. Some research suggests it may help the body produce the principle brain chemical acetylcholine, but this theory requires further proof. Source
  • Green Tea Extract: Rich in antioxidants and can promote thermogenesis (fat burning), especially when combined with additional caffeine as here.
  • Papain: Antioxidant chemical derived from papaya. May have many health benefits.
  • Yerba Mate: Plant extract used as a tea in South America. It contains a cocktail of xanthines (like caffeine) plus other phytochemicals. When tested on overfed rats it seemed to reduce Leptin signalling in the brain, the hormone that signals hunger. A usual supplement serving size of dried leaf is around 1000mg daily. Source

Stage 3: Appetite Balancing Weight Management Control

  • Glucomannan: This natural fibre can be very effective for controlling appetite and keeping blood sugar levels stable, and has been recommended by the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) as effective for weight loss. However, the required daily serving size is 3 g (3000mg) so it is unlikely to have much effect here. Source
  • Raspberry Ketones: Natural chemical derived from the enzymes found in the fragrance of red raspberries, and which may affect a hormone in the body called Adiponectin. This hormone is important for appetite control and fat burning. Animal testing suggests Raspberry ketone increases metabolism, but it has not been tested on humans.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid: Antioxidant that is obtainable from food such as vegetables and offal, and important for healthy cell function. ALA has many functions, and some research suggests it can help weight loss slightly if taken over a period of between 2 months and 48 weeks. The usual serving size for this purpose is between 300 – 1800mg a day, so inadequate serving size here.
  • Cayenne: Ordinary culinary spice with benefits for weight loss if taken in high amounts. Not the case here.
  • White Kidney Bean: This is a good source of protein and fibre that can help you feel fuller for longer. Clinical testing has looked at supplementing with between 2000mg and 3000mg per day and found that it can help weight loss.
    Source
  • Chromium (as Chromium Picolinate): Trace mineral which means the body requires very little. It helps the body manage insulin but is not effective for weight loss.

Stage 4: Anti-Stress Mood Balancer

  • DL Phenylalanine: Phenylalanine is an amino acid present in the body. DL Phenylalanine is a version of this which is made in the lab. Phenylalanine helps make chemical messengers in the body, but clinical testing has not established any benefits to mood or mental functioning. Source
  • Turmeric Root: Indian spice that may have numerous health benefits. Some research suggests that it is effective for reducing pain and inflammation.
  • Panax Ginseng Root: Panax Ginseng is one of the world’s most popular supplement ingredients. It is called an Adaptogen, meaning it can help improve feelings of wellbeing and the body’s reaction to stress.
  • 5-HTP (Griffonia Simplicifolia): Natural source of 5HTP, an amino acid that may raise serotonin, the brain’s feel-good chemical if taken in sufficient quantities. A typical dose is between 300mg and 500mg, so amounts here are probably inadequate. Source
  • Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract: Gingko is a tree which grows in China, and its bark originally used in Chinese medicine for a range of purposes. The leaf is also used for memory disorders such as dementia and it may help reduce anxiety. Most clinical testing has been carried out on a specific branded Gingko product called EGb 761.
  • Echinacea Purpurea Extract: Flowering plant which is related to the sunflower. It is a well known herbal remedy for common colds and flu, and many people believe it strengthens the immune system. Source
  • Garlic (Allium Sativum): Garlic has been used in food and as a medicinal herb for over 5000 years. It may help reduce the risk of heart disease and is known to have antibacterial properties.

Stage 5: Water Shedding Diuretic Complex: All these ingredients are powerful diuretics that will cause you to urinate more frequently.

  • Uva Ursi: Natural plant extract believed to be effective for urinary tract disorders and kidney infections. It is a diuretic (makes you pee) and it lacks evidence regarding long-term safety. May interact with medication and can cause gastrointestinal side effects. It can also induce labour and menstrual bleeding, so should not be used if you are pregnant or trying to conceive. Source
  • Dandelion Extract: Well known garden weed that may have numerous possibilities as a herbal supplement. However, its best-known function is as a diuretic and it has long been known to increase urination.
  • Potassium Aspartate: Aspartates are used to increase the absorption of minerals, but there is no evidence that they do!

Stage 6: Digestive Enzyme Aid

This part of the formula contains three branded supplements designed to improve digestion.

  • DigeSEB: This is a digestive enzyme blend that may help the body breakdown carbs, proteins, fats and dairy. It contains; Amylase, Protease Blend, Lipase, Lactase. Source
  • HemiSEB: Special enzyme complex that improves digestibility, reduces bloating, and improves overall nutrition. Contains Cellulase, Diastase, Glucolamalyse, Invertase, Bromelain. Source
  • Peptizyme SP: Branded supplement that may support the body’s response to inflammation. Contains Papain and Alpha-Galactosidase. Source

Other ingredients:

  • Almond (Prunas Amygdalus)
  • Oil Powder
  • Corn
  • Kelp
  • Apple Pectin

There are 778 reviews on Amazon at the time of writing, so we looked there.

Great stuff. Doesn’t make me crazy like most energy products. Gives me just enough that I have the energy to deal with 3 kids and the treadmill but by bedtime I’m still able to sleep.

However, 24% of comments are negative with side effects or no effects, common issues with users.

This product is a waste of your money. It has not done a thing for me.

Unfortunately these made me really sick. I was nauseous everyday, more tired, and my skin broke out after I had worked so hard to finally get it cleared. I wish I had the same luck as many other reviewers but everyone’s body is different.

Some customers are mixed,

If you are looking for a non stimulant fat burner then this one is for you. It did not suppress my appetite

And,

No side effects and did give me some more workout energy but no extra weight loss to report.

4 comments on 'FitMiss Burn'

  1. I have gone to watchdog about the last 5 thermogenics I have used and they have not approved one of them. Do they approve anything?? I personally take this and love it, no side effects so…

  2. This product has worked for me. I have been loving it. If you go to the gym 6 times a week and you already drink a lot of water it’s completely worth it. I’ve lost close to a pound a day and I only take one capsule per day because I feel energized and happy all day long. It’s working because I follow the directions, a few modified. If you go sit at a desk all day… try something that is less of a workout pill and more of a fat burner without doing anything. I personally like seeing results and I haven’t had one that worked better for weight lifting and mood enhancement. I don’t drink alcohol anyway.

  3. I will say I have been taking this product for two months and I have noticed that my menstrol cycle is not as heavy and I don’t get as bad of cramps. It’s helped me lose weight and I haven’t had any of the common side effects. I did not know that I shouldn’t drink any alcohol while using the product and I have noticed pain inward from my ovary areas by my uterus

  4. I wish I had read these reviews prior to using the Fitmiss Burn. Burn is right! I feel like I am burning in my joints and stomach. It also has given me horrible headaches. I already drink 1 gallon of water per day and that is not enough!
