What You Need To Know About Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby

Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby is a meal replacement shake that you use Monday to Friday, leaving you free from your diet on the weekend. It contains inulin, a fibre that may reduce the appetite. The protein in this product is sourced from Peas and Brown rice, making it suitable for anyone who is lactose intolerant.

Shake It Baby is manufactured by Flat Tummy Co, who were previously also known on social media as Flat Tummy Tea, after their flagship product.

What Are The Side Effects Of Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby?

Meal Replacement products leave the consumer at a psychological disadvantage; many people find meal replacement shakes unsatisfactory because of the lack of chewing.

Garcinia Cambogia can cause some side effects including nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache. Its long term safety is unknown, as clinical studies typically focus upon short term use of up to 12 weeks.

Inulin can cause bloating, abdominal cramping, loose stools, gas, and more frequent bowel movements.

How Much Does Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby Cost?

Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby is an incredibly expensive product! Firstly, the two week program costs $69.00, plus delivery charges; you can see that the company have put a huge mark-up on the product because the four week program only costs another $20 (or $10 if you are signed up for the auto-ship program).

The manufacturers recommend one or two shakes a day; if you wanted to take two shakes a weekday for a month, you would have to buy two of the four week boxes, for a total cost of $178 (again, plus delivery charges). This makes the product prohibitively expensive.

Remember that this product’s gimmick is that you don’t take it at the weekends, and so that $178 is still only going to provide a 20 day supply at two shakes a day.

Our Verdict On Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby

We are not impressed by Flat Tummy Co, who manufacture Shake It Baby, at all. They have used an over-enthusiastic marketing campaign and the gimmick of a diet-free weekend to cover up that they are selling a small amount of product for exorbitant prices. The price of the two week program means that consumers are paying as much as $6.90 PER SHAKE! This is the most ridiculous pricing we have ever seen.

The manufacturers also claim that the “Shake It Baby program is 3x more effective than diet and exercise alone with clinically studied Super Citrimax”, but don’t offer any actual clinical support or evidence for this claim.

The product is not covered by a money back guarantee, and the manufacturers do not accept any returns, unless the product arrives faulty.

We don’t like meal replacement plans in general, and this product is no different. Whilst following the plan could yield fast results, they are highly unlikely to be permanent, and consumers are likely to regain the lost weight once they stop using the product. It does not teach good dietary habits, and meal replacement shakes often leave people feeling hungry, unsatisfied or grumpy.

Customer reviews are generally positive, although there are some comments about a less than ideal taste, and a gritty texture.

Overall, we do not recommend Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby to our readers!

Does Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby Work?

It is possible, even likely that Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby will aid weight loss, as each shake (designed to replace a meal) contains just 130 calories. Some customers have noted that they add milk, fruit, and other ingredients to the shake to alter the taste to their liking, but they should keep an eye on the number of calories they are adding in; if you add in too many calories, the shake could contain as many calories as the meal you are trying to replace.

These kinds of meal replacement programs do often yield fast weight loss, but once the consumer is no longer following the program, they are likely to regain any lost weight. Meal replacement programs also do not teach new or healthy dieting habits. Shake It Baby is only taken on weekdays, but it is unlikely to be strong enough to counteract a weekend of uncontrolled eating, and the consumer could set themselves up for a vicious cycle of binge eating on the weekend, and taking an expensive product throughout the week just to maintain their weight, never losing much weight in the long term.

What Are The Ingredients of Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby?

The ingredients found in Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby are detailed below. Each serving of the Shake It Baby Shake contains 130 calories, 0.5 grams of fat, 20 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fibre.

No ingredient quantities are provided at all. The amounts of each fruit and vegetable in the extensive ingredients list appear to be microscopic, and because it is unclear how the fruits and vegetables have been processed, it is unclear how they would benefit the user. This shake does not count towards your five a day of fruits and vegetables!

  • Pea protein isolate: Pea protein compares quite favourably to the more-common whey protein. Although it contains less BCAA’s, it contains a higher quantity of a protein called arginine, which is useful for building muscle. It does however have a notably poorer taste. Source
  • Inulin: A type of fibre that is not digested in the stomach. It is used to help lower cholesterol levels, to decrease the appetite by adding bulk, and to treat constipation and other stomach problems. Source
  • Brown rice protein: Brown rice is also comparable to whey protein, and bodybuilders/athletes that used either tended to achieve similar results in tests. Source
  • Hydroxycitric acid from the dried fruit rind of Garcinia Cambogia (Super CitriMax®): Test tube and animal research suggests that HCA, the active compound in Garcinia Cambogia, may be helpful in weight loss because of its effects on metabolism. However, numerous studies in humans have found it has no effect upon either appetite or metabolic rate. Source
  • Natural French vanilla flavour
  • Natural vanilla flavour
  • Flaxseed (Bevgrad® Xtrasmooth): The seed from Flax is high in soluble fibre and omega 3 fatty acids. When taken as an oil, it can cause a slight laxative effect when used daily. Flaxseed also appears to reduce LDL cholesterol levels in the blood. Source
  • Xanthan gum
  • Cocoa
  • Milled white chia seed: Chia seeds are a good source of fibre, and can therefore be filling. They are also a source of omega 3 fatty acids. Source

The product also includes the following vegetables and fruits.

Plum, beet, raspberry, yumberry, black currant, blackberry, trap, luo han guo (monk fruit)(Go-Luo®), pomegranate, stevia leaf extract, red grape, banana, blue honeysuckle berry, blueberry, dark sweet cherry, eggplant, guava, purple sweet potato, red bell pepper, red pepper, strawberry, sweet cherry, tomato, watermelon, orange, carrot, cranberry, purple cabbage, cucumber, mango, peach, spinach, zinc, acerola cherry, apple, kale, ascorbic acid, ferrous fumarate, kiwi, acai, broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus, boy chop, butternut squash, green bean, green pea, lemon, lime, mung bean, parsley leaf, pineapple, pumpkin, star fruit, sweet potato, and yellow bell pepper.

Enzyme blend (Pepzyme® AG)

Probiotic dairy (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bibidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium lactis)

The product also includes numerous added vitamins and minerals; these vitamins and minerals do not come from the fruits and vegetables, but are added separately.

There are numerous customer reviews for Flat Tummy Tea Shake It Baby on the official website, as well as on social media.

Totally love the product – my colleagues and I have been on the Shake Baby Program these past couple weeks and I’ve noticed huge improvements. I can’t believe it, FTCo. Outdone themselves yet again 🙂

Shake It Baby is tasty, healthy and curbs my appetite for several hours before feeling hungry. Great product, great portion and concise instructions/labeling.

I ordered the vanilla pods. The taste takes a little bit to get used to. I added a banana and almond milk. So far so good.

I actually really love the product and mix it with soy milk! I do find that it can be a little gritty sometimes. However, I probably would order it again.

  1. Some days it’s tiring just how many different weight loss products there are. I see what you mean about price. That’s incredibly expensive for a protein shake.

Even if it were amazing, there are so many other shakes out there and most of them are cheaper.

For all the marketing hype, I’ve yet to see a single shake that is truly amazing. They all follow the same general concepts, with minor variations in approach and the ingredients selected.

I think they can work for some people – but even so, this brand offers nothing that justifies the high price tag.
