Gundry MD Vital Reds

Gundry MD Vital Reds is a powdered supplement that you add to water in order to make a health drink and according to the advertising it is high in natural fat burning ingredients and probiotics. All this sounds as if it should help you lose weight and get healthier, so is this red superfruit formula worth a try? We take a look at Gundry MD Vital Reds to find out.

Gundry MD supplements are created by a heart surgeon and medical researcher, Dr Stephen Gundry MD. The brand focuses on maintaining health rather than helping you achieve crazy weight-loss results. If you buy from the website you are encouraged to sign up to auto-ship and take the supplements on a permanent basis.

What You Need To Know About Gundry MD Vital Reds

Gundry MD Vital Reds is a supplement in powder form that you drink by adding to water. It is supposed to boost your health, vitality and weight loss by the use of superfruit ingredients, and although it looks pretty good you could probably get the same effects by improving your diet and increasing your activity levels. We like that this supplement seems safe. We are less keen on the over inflated price and the fact that you are encouraged to sign up to auto-ship for regular orders.

What Are The Side Effects Of Gundry MD Vital Reds?

Side effects should not be an issue for most people. However, you should not take it if you have a weakened immune system as probiotics can cause complications by introducing bacteria into the system.

How Much Does Gundry MD Vital Reds Cost?

Gundry MD Vital Reds is very expensive. In our opinion, and in the opinion of many customers, this supplement is massively overpriced.

Buy from the official website and you are encouraged to sign up to auto-ship – the subscribe and save option known as the Gundry VIP Club. Be warned that auto-ship agreements can be hard to cancel, even if they advertise no strings attached.

In addition, as a new customer you can take advantage of a special offer by buying three month’s supply of Gundry MD Vital Reds for $134.85! Not such a special offer, in our opinion, but a hustle to get more money from customers.

Otherwise, the official price from the Gundry website is $69.95 for 1 x 4oz tub (1 months supply)

Buy on Amazon and it is even more expensive at $79.95 for 1 x 4 oz tub (1 month’s supply)

Many customers have been dismayed on seeing the size of the container. It is extremely small.

Our Verdict On Gundry MD Vital Reds

The advertising for Gundry MD Vital Reds says all the right things, the ingredients profile looks safe, and the fact it has been devised by a “trust me, I am a doctor” looks reassuring. We have certainly seen a lot worse on the market. That said, we do not like this supplement very much.

In our opinion, Gundry MD is no better than any other supplements company on the market, and in many cases worse. You are encouraged to sign up to auto-ship and to pay good money each month for a general supplement that is unlikely to make much difference to your long-term health.

Yes, people report feeling better by taking it, but MD Vital Reds does not provide an effective long-term solution, unless you take it forever, which is probably the aim of the company.

You would be better off spending this money on improving your diet and improving your lifestyle, but this is never mentioned because Dr Gundry does not give out free advice. For dietary advice you have to pay out nearly $10 to buy his eBook advertised on the website. If it was THAT good surely it would be out in print and available from book shops such as Amazon?

Let’s cut to the chase. If you have $70 going spare, you could try this supplement and it might even do you some good. But in our opinion, this money would be better spent on improving your diet and lifestyle for long lasting more permanent benefits. Overall, we would not recommend Gundry MD Vital Reds.

Gundry MD Vital Reds Review

We are all looking to get fit and healthy these days and, with the rise in problems such as obesity and heart disease, losing weight has never seemed so important.

When it comes to losing weight with the help of a safe supplement, Gundry MD Vital Reds appears to tick all the boxes. This supplement seems to be crammed with healthy antioxidant rich ingredients, and looks to be a healthy red powder that you add to water in order to make a drink. For added reassurance, the supplement has been devised by a doctor and heart surgeon Dr Stephen Gundry MD.

Gundry MD Vital Reds Facts

  • Jar is very small – the net weight is just 4 oz but contains 30 servings
  • You are encouraged to bulk buy or sign up to auto-ship if you buy from the official website
  • If you buy from the official website you are covered by a 90-day guarantee

The principle ingredient of the powder is a blend of superfruit berries called the Polyphenol blend. According to the product information, this part of the formula contains 34 unique superfruits containing micronutrients, all with a strong antioxidant effect.

In addition, there is the metabolic blend which contains 7 ingredients believed to increase the speed of the metabolism and so make weight loss easier. Ingredients include green tea, turmeric (is there a supplement at the moment which DOESNT contain turmeric?) and other culinary substances, such as ginger and cinnamon.

There is a vitamin and mineral blend which provides all 8 B vitamins plus some additional minerals.

The final part of the formula is the probiotic blend, called the Digestive Support Blend. Many people believe in the power of good bacteria (probiotics) which inhabit your gut and intestines, helping digestion.

How to Take Gundry MD Vital Reds

You just mix a small scoop of Gundry MD Vital Reds with water or any other beverage you like. It dissolves quickly. Drink one glass a day.

Gundry MD Vital Reds looks very much the health supplement, and with the doctor/inventor reinforcing this message it’s no wonder that this supplement is popular.

However, it is important to remember that taking a supplement does not replace a healthy diet and most of the fruit ingredients, if not all, are easily available in their natural form and would be better for health if you just ate more of them and did some exercise.

Gundry MD Vital Reds Concerns:

  • Overpriced, but people may spend money they can’t afford believing it is important for health
  • Is Dr Stephen Gundry exploiting his position as a doctor to sell us stuff we don’t need?
  • This supplement does not replace a healthy diet and lifestyle, but will customers realise?

You can be healthy without taking this supplement, and we have some concerns that some people may buy this expensive supplement in the belief that they need it, and thus sign up to the VIP program from the website.

This is an auto-ship agreement where regular supplies are sent to your address each month and your bank or credit card is billed automatically. These types of agreements can be hard to cancel.

We have covered Gundry MD Primal Plants in a previous review.

What Does Gundry MD Vital Reds Claim To Do?

According to the advertising, the key features are as follows:

  • Helps boost natural energy
  • Promotes improved digestion
  • Helps improve skin health & appearance
  • “Quick-Dissolve” Mix with Natural Berry Flavor
  • Soy-Free / Sugar-Free / Artificial Sweetener-Free / Lectin-Free

Stephen Gundry explains more about polyphenols,

Polyphenols are natural energy boosters, they have antioxidant properties, and play a huge role in keeping your body healthy.

In my opinion, polyphenols are the most important nutrient you’re NOT getting in your diet right now, and you should be getting as much as possible.

Right now, you can experience the benefits of polyphenols without having to go to the trouble and expense of sourcing dozens of exotic and rare ingredients.

We hate to disagree with a qualified doctor and heart surgeon, but we looked into this question of polyphenols only being in “exotic and rare” ingredients, and according to the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition we found that polyphenols are present in high quantities in many everyday foodstuffs.

Blackberries contain high levels of polyphenols, as do seasonings and spices such as cloves and celery seeds. Capers, olives, apples, red onions and nuts, beetroot, pure orange juice and apple juice, and filter coffee are also sources of polyphenols, as well as fruit such as grapes, cherries and blackcurrants.

All these foods are in the top 100 richest dietary sources of polyphenols and are easily obtainable.

Does Gundry MD Vital Reds Work?

It certainly is not going to do you any harm. This looks to be a good quality, safe supplement that has been devised by a heart surgeon and doctor with 30 years experience.

Gundry MD Vital Reds is a general health supplement. If you do lose weight while you are taking it, this will be down to your own efforts. Maybe this supplement will help you feel better and make the effort… but who knows?
Our big concern about Gundry MD Vital Reds is that it is expensive and in no way does it replace a healthy diet and lifestyle.

It is not difficult to improve your diet and lifestyle by including more polyphenol rich fruit and veg and taking some exercise. Doing this will provide the benefits mentioned in the advertising, such as improved circulation and heart health, as well as energy levels, weight loss, mood and even your skin.

Gundry MD Vital Reds is a reasonable looking supplement, but if the good doctor really wanted to help people, he would provide more common sense advice about diet and nutrition, and would not be as keen to sign up customers to a lengthy cycle of sending him continuous and expensive auto-ship payments.

What Are The Ingredients of Gundry MD Vital Reds?

Each serving is equal to one scoop (3.5g) of powder.

  • Polyphenol Blend (1540mg): This comprises of 34 ingredients that are high in polyphenols. Although the red berries aspect is mentioned in the advertising, you can see that most of the components are not red berries, but are easily available fruits and veg. Many you can buy as juices. It is important to remember that individual ingredient quantities will be microscopic with the combined quantity less than a teaspoon. Ingredients here include organic carrot, organic apple, grape seed extract, aronia berry extract, organic flax seed, mulberry fruit, European black current extract, apple, organic beetroot, cranberry fruit extract, mango, papaya, acai fruit extract, strawberry, blueberry fruit concentrate, pomegranate, blackberry, acerola fruit extract, apple pectin (a natural thickener) red raspberry, pineapple, orange, cantaloupe, grape, watermelon, grapefruit, plum, pear, lemon, lime, cherry, peach, and berberine hydrochloride.
  • Metabolic Boosting Blend (365mg): Some natural foodstuffs are known as natural metabolism boosters (or fat burners) because they are high in antioxidants and polyphenols (a type of antioxidant). This part of the formula contains cinnamon bark extract 5:1, ginger root, green tea extract, white tea leaf extract, turmeric, bitter melon fruit extract and black pepper.
  • Digestive Support Blend: All strains of probiotic here are considered good for digestive health and are naturally present in the human body as well as in dietary produce, especially dairy products. This includes Bacilus Coagulans, Lactobacillus Acidophil, Bifidum bacteriemlactis, and L Reuteri (3 billion CFU).
    https://www.dietpillswatchdog.com/probiotics-and-weight-loss-benefits/
  • Fructooligosacherides (250mg): Short and medium chain sugar molecules that your body cannot digest. They provide food for the probiotics.
    https://bodyecology.com/articles/understanding_fos.php

There is also a comprehensive vitamin and mineral profile. All are present in 100% of the RDA apart from chromium which exceeds this figure (167%):

  • Thiamine (1.5mg)
  • Riboflavin (1.7mg)
  • Niacin (20mg)
  • Vitamin B6 (2mg)
  • Folate (400mcg)
  • Vitamin B 12 (6mcg)
  • Biotin (300 mcg)
  • Pantothenic acid (10mg)
  • Selenium (70mcg)
  • Chromium (200mcg)

Does Gundry MD Vital Reds Have Any Side Effects?

Side effects should not be an issue because the contents of the powder are all dietary ingredients, and the individual serving size of each one is very small. Customers have not reported side effects. That said, some people suffer from digestive issues with probiotics such as bloating, constipation and abdominal pains.

Caution:
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Speak to your doctor first if you have underlying health issues or a compromised immune system. Probiotics are not safe for everyone to use in these cases.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Gundry MD Vital Reds?

There are loads of customer testimonials for Gundry MD Vital Reds. Many are posted on the official Gundry website and these are all positive. Here are a couple of examples,

My wife and I are into our second month of taking the Reds and we both see a difference. It is hard to explain but I wake up fresher and as my day progresses I do not tire as easy. I feel my work flows and I handle emergencies at work better, not getting overwhelmed about the circumstances. Thanks.

And,

My family and I have been taking Vital Reds since around Christmas and we have seen improvement in our overall health and energy.

All the customer reviews are pretty much identical. Interestingly, not one person has mentioned weight loss. The entire focus is on improving energy.

The reviewers on Amazon tell a different story. There are some positive reviews and some people have lost weight by using it.

Energy improved. Scale did not go down, but midriff inches did! Excited! Eating more calories, but my body looks good.

And,

An excellent product that I am now remembering to take religiously. I can feel the effects, including more energy.

Not everyone is as impressed. Many reviewers, even positive reviewers have complained about the price,

Great stuff, tastes good too. Quite expensive to keep purchasing though.

This lady was cross that it did not work and with changes to price on Amazon,

Product taste OK ….can’t feel any difference at all …..but I’m going to say this ….because I think it’s important …..the price keeps changing….. it’s over-the-top and the marketing is deceitful!!

Many people have noticed no difference between taking it and not taking it,

This product is just an overpriced sweet drink. It hasn’t done what the seller claims. If you are having a problem with low energy, go see your doctor because this won’t help you.

Doesn’t do as advertised. Total waste of money!

Does Gundry MD Vital Reds Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Yes, and it looks pretty good. If you buy from the website you are covered by a 90-day money-back guarantee.

Here’s what Dr. Stephen Gundry has to say about it:

As a physician, I know that individual bodies can react differently to the very same compounds. Even though everyone can benefit from the polyphenols and probiotics in this formula, I’m aware that results can vary. So, if you’re unsatisfied with this product for any reason whatsoever after a full 90 days of use, I’ll return your money, no questions asked…guaranteed.

Where Can I Buy Gundry MD Vital Reds?

You can buy Gundry MD Vital Reds direct from the Gundry website. Be aware that you will be encouraged to buy in bulk or sign up to auto-ship.

  1. Critical guy says:

It is SO easy to just make people believe anything…

No need to read any books from Gundry, just watch his video on his website. It is just too smooth and tries so hard to push the right buttons. A good heart surgeon does not necessarily make a good scientist. Why does he have to found his own institute and does not work at one of the major universities? Publishing studies in journals is good, but it would be better if this research will be enthusiastically taken up by fellow scientist and pushed further, any sign of this? The main thing is that his claims would need to be confirmed in clinical trials and evaluated by FSA or EFSA, otherwise it is just hot air. Well you still have a placebo effect, but for this you could take sugar pills without getting an upset stomach.

  2. Eloise Boardman says:

My husband and I have been using Vital reds, Primal Plants and Pre-biotic Thrive for about two months now. We have seen improvements in our skin tone, our heart rates and, amazingly, our cholesterol. I would highly recommend Dr. Gundry’s products. Before you spend the $$, read his two books – Diet Revolution and Plant Paradox. The products are fairly expensive, but the benefits, at least for me, have been well worth it. BTW, I have no relationship with Dr. Gundry or with his company.

  3. LL says:

I have tried Vital Reds for a week now and it has done nothing for me. Please don’t waste your money.

    1. Candy says:

I don’t have a connection to the company but purchased to try & improve the health of my husband and me. This isn’t a “snap”- “all better” product. I personally have noticed overall health improvements fairly quickly, my husband who has a larger body mass has been much slower, yet he IS seeing improvement. One Week is simply too soon to make a definitive decision. He is sleeping now at night and has more energy & clarity of mind in the daytime. The only “con” I have seen is a mid-day sleepiness. So, we now take half the recommended amt in the am & the other half after lunch. GIVE IT A CHANCE. Or… possibly your body just may be one of those who don’t respond to “repair”.

    2. Larry Friesen says:

Most supplements take much longer than a week to kick in, sometimes a month or two.
Don’t give up. I haven’t tried this product but what I just mentioned is a general statement. A lot depends on the extent of your condition as well. Remember the old saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.

  4. sue says:

It has been about a week using the primal plants, vital reds and biothrive and I have tons of gas, acne all over my throat and had a throbbing headache for the first 3 days of starting it. I got the 3 months supply and am not thinking I want to stick with it and will probably return it. I am also on day 12 of the plant paradox. I want to give it a 30 day trial just to see if some chronic swelling in my hands/face go down. I have some problems with the idea that Dr Gundry says that when people eat fruit in the summer that it enables the body to pack on the pounds to survive the winter. His vital reds has berry concentrates! I don’t see a lot of thin folks getting obese by eating fruit. I tend to side with Dr Greger at Nutritionfacts.org on most things and have done well on his program but it didn’t help with the swelling issue (6 months time). Gundry’s products don’t taste terrible but each one is super sweet. I want to tone down my sweet tooth and think fruit is sweet enough on its own. And his infommercial is a black hole of time. Just listening to him boast about his accomplishments and calling himself a famous doctor is a stark difference to the down to earth style of Dr. Greger.
However, for the positive: My sister has been doing the products and the diet and has had amazing pain reduction, actually elimination, of plantar fasciitis w/ flat feet. She has been the huge encouragement for me to continue.

  5. C Stevens says:

My comment is about the review itself. At the very bottom it states that the author, Bambi, “…has developed a fine eye for detail. Meticulous in her work,… “, yet there are multiple grammatical errors in her post. For example, she states,” Judging by the effectiveness of the health supplement and the number of positive reviews that has already been posted online for this product, it seems to be effective than most.” Hmmm… reviews that has been? And the rest of that sentence,”… it seems to be effective than most” seems to be missing a word, no? Hard to take the review seriously when the reader is distracted by the errors along the way. Sorry, Bambi.Sometimes spellcheck is not enough.

    1. Holly says:

I couldn’t help but notice that as well. Fine eye for detail? Poor writing and advice. The Vital Reds product is not at all comparable to the weight loss pill she’s advocating. I came across Vital Reds today looking for natural products to improve my arthritis, overall inflammation, and vascular problems. The main feature of this product is the polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants that effect one’s overall health. They are even known to repair & prevent DNA damage. If the writer was so detail oriented, why didn’t she recommend a more similar product than a basic fat burner/weight loss pill? I looked at several sites reviewing Phentaslim out of curiosity, which relies on a high caffeine content for weightloss and energy (nervousness-YUCK!). It averaged only 2/5 stars! Much lower than Vital Reds, which I found over 1000 reviews for over multiple sites, averaging 4.3/5 stars.
Why anyone would only give a product just a week makes little sense too.
I’ve not tried Vital Reds, but would like to given the 90-day money back guarantee. There is no magic pill, but I know how good & energetic I felt when I put my own supplement regime together. It was a ton of effort & expense though. I’m looking for a few combination products to be more efficient and affordable with similar ingredients to replicate my cabinet full of single ingredient bottles. I recently bought Miracle Reds from Sprouts, but it contains Goji berries (nightshade family) high in Lectin, a cause of joint pain/inflammation 🙁

      1. Paul says:

I agree with this a 100%. These two products have very little in common. I have not used the vital red product yet. But high amounts of caffeine in Phentalism is not suitable for all…and does not sustain energy/ATP production but just stimulates it. this can lead to chronic fatigue.

I have come across a few anomalies like this on watchdog and I’m starting to get the impression that it is a platform to promote certain products with vested intrest…most probably financial gain.

  6. Reina Reed says:

Who can you believe? I was so excited to hear good news – is it too good to be true? I will wait a while before I order – More bad news than good news! But, then, I had problems getting things solved – with other products I received! Sometimes it’s only the Customer Service Dept. that is not ‘on the ball’.
Would like to receive a list of more people that are happy with the product.
    Sincerely
    Reina MacDonald

    1. JODY OKEEFE says:

      Hi
I have used vital red and primal plants on and off for over 6 months.
When I first started them i did notice an e boost. Then over time i got lazy and stopped. I noticed that I was getting back into my sad lazy phase. I started back up at the gym (reluctantly) tried healthier eating even getting to sleep earlier yet still wasn’t feeling that great. While complaining to my husband about feeling sluggy, he said what about that crap you used to drink – you seemed to be always singing its praises and trying to get me to drink it too. I search the back of my fridge ~ and ………… presto

      happily back and the gym
      happily running around chasing grandkids
      and just plain happier

I have found that red in the morning and green at night has worked best for me

      Jody OKeefe

  7. Toni H says:

I tried 1 x jar and experienced a positive boost in energy. I was only testing as a boost not for weight loss. I am happy to continue – and why not if I am feeling energised.

  8. Judy Cervizzi says:

I have tried Vital Reds and it has done nothing for me. Please don’t waste your money. Eat fruits and vegetables and get enough fiber. This product is way over priced and personally speaking it does nothing except empty your bank book.

    1. Reina Reed says:

I have not tried yet but there is a lot of potential information. I don’t think you gave it enough time – I’m not looking for a fast diet answer. I am 78 and want energy more than losing weight. I’ve read a long talk from Dr. Gundry He has good creditentials – heart surgeon, etc. – I hope it will help me if I buy it.

  9. Diane Hayes says:

I ordered this product a few weeks ago and never received it. Meanwhile I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and Hashimotos Disease and doctor has ordered me off everything other than strict Disease medication- please advise regarding refund my name is Mrs Diane Hayes 24/81 Willandra Road Cromer NSW 2099 Australia. Please confirm you received this, thank you.

  10. Catharina Simms says:

I ordered mine it took only 3 weeks all up to get to Australia. The only issue I’m having is trying to find a better way to take it, in water it makes me gag and in cordial I won’t get the best results. Any advice on how I can take it without gaging. Need help lol

    1. Jen b says:

I have been taking vital reds for about 8 months. Made me gag too. Best solution for me is to drink it in orange juice and with a straw. I know oj has sugar, but the thicker consistency of the juice makes it easy to drink. The vital reds had a good taste, it’s just the texture issue.

      1. sue says:

        Hi Jen,
I watched a video last week of Gundry’s and he said that taking it with juice nullifies the beneficial effects of the vital reds. Not sure if you wanted to know that or not.

  11. Holly Howard says:

I have been taking the Vital Reds for about 3 months now and have noticed a difference. I am 57 years old and I was told yesterday by someone I haven’t seen since Christmas, that I look 30 years old! About a year ago I had blood work done and my cholesterol was up slightly. I wasn’t given anything to reduce it and I haven’t changed my eating habits. A month ago I had more blood work done and my cholesterol levels are normal again. I also notice that I am not bloated after I eat anymore and I am slowly loosing belly fat. I think it takes at least 2 months before you notice any change. I just notice I feel comfortable in my skin now. I’ll keep taking it.

  12. Nicky says:

Hi, I don’t often write reviews, but wanted to share my experience of taking Vital Reds.

I’d been suffering for a long time with adrenal exhaustion and even though I’d recovered a lot (over 6 months), with the help of a naturopath and doing a total gut cleanse, I was still lacking energy and was operating in a less than optimal way and was still at least 20 kilos overweight. I’m a 61 year old woman, btw.

  13. Whadyahknow says:

I have been taking it for 8 months and have actually gained weight. My skin hasn’t improved nor can I say that I have experienced any benefit from it so far.

  14. mike hanson says:

Gundry MD is just another scam.

    1. Nicky says:

And your reason for saying that would be…? Have you tried any products or read any of the books?

My experience with Dr Gundry and the company website has always been excellent customer service, and you get exactly what you order in a timely fashion.

He is a bona fide medical doctor with excellent credentials (just Google him and do your own research instead of taking someone else’s word for it). No, I am not affiliated with the company or Dr Gundry in any way, but I HAVE read some books and have used some of the products.

I can only assume some people do not read carefully enough before they buy, or else are blaming someone else for their own shortcomings.

      1. Ralph Palmer says:

Oh Nicky, I feel bad for you. There will always be customers who are not satisfied with the service and who will never order Dr. Gundry M.D. supplies again, Like me. I ordered over a thousand dollars of supplies (When you order, they keep adding lower prices to buy more, so I did)just to have them returned to the warehouse without explanation, then be charged ten dollars because they returned the order to the ware house, WHAT? Then they said they will return the left over money to my charge card. Nope, over a hundred dollars missing. I complained several times just to be told they would return the ten dollars they took off originally. What about the other over a hundred dollars I’m still missing, basically, F.U. So, now you know why there are people who are not happy with Dr. Gundry M.D.

      2. Martin says:

Can’t help noticing you defend him without saying anything about the product. Further evidence of this being a total scam.

  15. Robert Kantor says:

I ordered a supply of vital reds which I have not received after 13 days and have been charged 3 times for the supply. I tried contacting Gundry MD to say there must be an error and I that did not want to place 2 orders. Now they have charged my card again! I also tried to email Gundry MD again and mysteriously my previous emails have disappeared.I am very disappointed and can only assume this is a scam.

    1. Concerned Citizen says:

This is all lies. Their customer service is easily reachable and impeccable. why are you fabricating a bogus story.

      1. Isabelle says:

It is not a lie I had to contact the company many times (5 to be precise) I ordered 04 of January and received my package last week, on the 14 of March … Not sure yet if it’s work time will tell but I have serious doubt now.

      2. David Neil says:

DR STEVEN GUNDRY is a Quack

        1. Judy Cervizzi says:

I didn’t want to believe it but he has gotten into the money making medical scenario due to being a Pediatric Cardiologist. He specialty was Pediatric congenital malformations of the heart. I believe he is ripping people off.

        2. Krysia says:

It is SO easy to just debunk other’s findings.

          I suggest:

1.You read Plant Paradox from cover to cover TWICE as there is a lot in it to digest.
          2. Follow the plan FAITHFULLY for THREE months.
          3. Take basic vitamin supplements B Complex, D and a multivitamin and mineral tablet each day for THREE months (Dr Gundry’s supplements ARE good but unfortunately beyond the budget of some)

THEN and ONLY then do you have the right to challenge his authority and findings.
