High-Tech Satietrim

Saffron is a gorgeous and fabulously expensive spice, renowned for centuries for its aromatic scent and sweet, grassy flavour. Alongside its excellent reputation as an elaborate kitchen ingredient, saffron has recently been found to have unique anti-depressive properties, as chemicals within the plant can affect the body’s serotonin levels (also known as the pleasure hormone). This interesting finding has since led to other outcomes, including the use of saffron as an appetite suppressant that can reduce emotion-based comfort eating, for example High-Tech Satietrim.

Below we take an in-depth look into High-Tech Satietrim, to see whether this saffron-based product can suppress customer appetites with no side effects or drawbacks.

High-Tech Satietrim Pros

  • Product is relatively cheap from some outlets
  • Product’s sole ingredient has been proven to (slightly) work in a clinical trial
  • Ingredient quantity is listed

High-Tech Satietrim Cons

  • Customer reviews are highly mixed
  • May come with severe side effects over time
  • Manufacturer has no money back guarantee or returns policy of any kind

What You Need To Know About High-Tech Satietrim

High-Tech Satietrim is a weight loss supplement that contains a single dosage of saffron that has been specially engineered to be more effective. It is intended to be used as an appetite suppressant and mood enhancer, helping dieters to avoid comfort eating and more effectively stick to their original weight loss plans. Although High-Tech Satietrim’s only ingredient and dosage are backed by a very limited amount of scientific data, the dosage included in this mix may actually pose a threat to customer health.

Satietrim is manufactured by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, a supplement store based in the USA. Hi-Tech Pharma (as they are often called) are known mainly for their extraordinary history of litigation, having fought long and protracted legal battles with the FTC, FDA, respected university professors, medical authorities and rival companies. The company is currently fighting to overturn the FDA’s existing ban on the dangerous stimulant DMAA, and continues to sell DMAA-based products until the legal point is clarified. The company is also associated with its selling of a useless form of ephedra and other products that attempt to mimic and impersonate illegal steroids.

What Are The Side Effects Of High-Tech Satietrim?

The quantity of saffron included in this product is way above the levels that are deemed to be safe for consumption for long-term users. This can cause worrying side effects if customers choose to take this product as directed for more than 8 weeks.

High doses of saffron can cause blood cell count drops, bloody stools, bleeding from the face, a yellowing of the skin and eyes, numbness, vomiting and more. Mild side effects arising from even short-term use is also possible, potentially resulting in headaches, dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, side effects, anxiety and drowsiness.

How Much Does High-Tech Satietrim Cost?

High-Tech Satietrim has very different prices depending on the retailer. The lowest price available for a 90-capsule bottle was on eBay ($20.00). Customers can also find the same bottle for $21.25 (from Mind & Muscle) or for $22.40 (from Vita Springs or Vita Cart). The highest price we found online was from Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals themselves, where a 90-capsule pack costs $39.95.

Our Verdict On High-Tech Satietrim

All evidence suggests that High-Tech Satietrim is not a particularly good product for customers despite its reasonable price. The available clinical evidence suggests that saffron may suppress comfort eating, but also does not appear to help dieters to lose significant amounts of weight. Customer reviews of High-Tech Satietrim appear to confirm this, with roughly half of customers stating that the product did nothing for them or even made them want to eat more. Saffron simply is not reliable enough to be used as an appetite suppressant.

When taken in doses that are needed to suppress appetite, saffron may also be dangerous. Customers choosing to take this product as directed will find themselves taking 600% of the safe daily dosage of saffron, a situation that can result in numerous and serious blood issues. Customers are advised not to take this product for more than 8 weeks, and many may wish to skip it entirely on this basis.

Worse, this particular formulation is almost bafflingly bad. Hi-Tech Pharma appear to have gone out of their way to state that their mix has higher quantities of the compound safranal (300% more than regular extracts of saffron apparently). The manufacturer states that this is because safranal is the source of all of saffron’s anti-depression benefits. They also state that safranal is otherwise useless as a spice as it is “too pungent”.

The problem? This is all complete rubbish; according to the existing scientific evidence, safranal is actually the compound in saffron that makes it aromatic and tasty, and it is otherwise completely useless (for those interested, it is saffron’s crocin content that makes it useful for combating depression). It’s hard to know whether Hi-Tech Pharma are cynical or merely stupid when they make claims and formulations like these.

The only person that’s really cheated by this is the customer. Couple the unnecessarily bad formulation with Hi-Tech Pharma’s lack of money back guarantee and returns policy, and you end up with all the makings of a truly junk-level product.

We do not recommend High-Tech Satietrim to our readers.

High-Tech Satietrim Review

High-Tech Satietrim is a weight loss supplement that claims to suppress the appetite. Containing a single dosage of a specially-standardized form of saffron, this product claims to help customers to stave off hunger in a natural, safe and manageable way. The saffron extract is also said to boost mood and give dieters an energy boost.

High-Tech Satietrim Facts

  • Manufactured by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals
  • Contains 90 capsules per bottle
  • Single-ingredient appetite suppressant

Satietrim is produced and sold by Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, an American manufacturer of various sports, weight loss and sexual enhancement supplements. Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals’ website is surprisingly poorly written and hard to understand for an English-speaking company, giving an unprofessional appearance that fails to inspire confidence in the quality of the products.

How to Take High-Tech Satietrim

The directions for use are as follows:

  • Take one capsule twice daily (morning and evening) with food or as recommended by your healthcare professional

As of 2017, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals is far more well-known for its legal battles with American authorities and university professors than for its effective and high-quality supplements. The company can be contacted via the contact details provided on the website.

High-Tech Satietrim Concerns:

  • No money back guarantee
  • Product’s only ingredient has only been proven to work in a very limited way
  • Customer reviews are very mixed

What Does High-Tech Satietrim Claim To Do?

High-Tech Satietrim claims to help customers to cut back on “emotional eating” and poor behavioural control when dieting. The way this works is through saffron’s supposed ability to boost serotonin by acting as a “serotonin reuptake inhibitor”. In other words, this product claims to boost mood and feelings of emotional wellbeing, hindering compulsive behaviour and the need to over-eat to feel better. Customers can then lose weight and see their appetites suppressed.

One unique property of this saffron extract in particular is the way the samples have been altered. Hi-Tech Pharma claim to have discovered a new of boosting the extract’s levels of safranal, a compound found within saffron which is said to affect neurotransmitters and serotonin in particular. As Satietrim contains 300% more safranal than normal extracts of saffron, it is said to be much more effective than other products. To quote the official Hi-Tech Pharma website, Satietrim is said to:

  • Control Emotional Eating
  • Offer 3X the Potency of the Competition
  • Offer Weight loss
  • Offer More energy
  • Provide a Better mood

Does High-Tech Satietrim Work?

Unlike other ingredients in the world of supplements, saffron does have one actual study backing up its effects which we can take a good look at. The sole clinical trial that links saffron with weight loss and appetite suppression showed that it works but only very slightly. Over an 8-week trial period, the sample of overweight females lose an average of 0.96kg. Those taking saffron saw a 55% reduction in their snacking, and the group taking the placebo saw a 28% reduction. This trial did not report the kinds of snacks that were eaten or the total daily calorific intake of the participants, but it did show that saffron could have a very weak influence on weight loss results.

Saffron is much more well-known for boosting mood, and has acted as a natural (albeit slightly weak) cure for depression. Small doses of saffron are said to be as effective a cure for depression as reference drugs like fluoxetine and imipramine. There is no reason to believe that saffron boosts energy however.

One important thing to remember is that customer reviews for this product in particular have so far been mixed; although some customers have lost weight while using it, others have reported losing no weight at all or even wanting to eat more than usual. This may be related to Satietrim’s unusual form of saffron. Although Hi-Tech Pharma claim that the elevated levels of Safranal makes the formula stronger, the existing scientific evidence suggests that the company is wasting its time (safranal is thought to be relatively useless).

To summarise? High-Tech Satietrim may work a little bit, but is likely far weaker than other appetite suppressants. Most customers shouldn’t expect results that are worth writing home about.

What Are The Ingredients of High-Tech Satietrim?

The sole ingredient that makes up High-Tech Satietrim is listed below. The quantity listed is correct for 1 tablet of Hoodie-Pure.

Satietrim Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) Non-GMO Extract (stigma) [std. to 1.34% safranal (1.2mg) by UV Vis and providing crocin and picrocrocin) 88.5mg: Whilst there is stronger evidence that saffron can help to treat depression, there is one study that shows that supplementing 176.50mg of saffron per day over an eight week period reduces snacking significantly and lead to a modest reduction in weight (less than 1kg on average).

Does High-Tech Satietrim Have Any Side Effects?

Hi-Tech Pharma have created Satietrim pills that mimic the dosage used in the sole clinical trial conducted on saffron, but this dosage is unfortunately high enough to cause serious side effects. Customers should avoid long-term use of this product.

Long-term use of high doses of saffron can cause extremely worrying side effects (using High-Tech Satietrim as directed will result in dieters receiving 600% of their RDA for saffron per day). Overdoses of saffron can cause a drop in the body’s red/white cell count, a yellowing of the skin and eyes, bloody diarrhoea, bleeding from the nose, lips or eyelids, numbness, vomiting, dizziness and more. Even short-term doses of saffron can cause issues for some, resulting in mild side effects like dry mouth, anxiety, drowsiness, nausea, headaches, and dizziness.

Caution:
Not for use by individuals under the age of 18 years. Do not use if you are pregnant or nursing. This product can raise blood pressure and interfere with other drugs you may be taking. Talk to your doctor about this product.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For High-Tech Satietrim?

High-Tech Satietrim appears to suffer from highly mixed reviews at the moment, with customers split down the middle between those who say the product works and those who claim that it is useless. One customer also claims that the product is very unpleasant to smell, making it hard to stomach when taking.

I have been using this product for 4 months and have lost 25 pounds. It does not make me jumpy or hyper. I will continue to use the Saffron Extract.

This is a wonderful product. Have recommended it to three other people and it is working for them also. So easy. WITH RESULTS.

I bought this one, but couldn’t take it. Once I open the bottle I immediately noticed the smell was horrible, like a paint (Think acetone). I took out single capsule, but even single one had very strong chemical smell… I take supplements all the time (and most of them I buy on this site), some of them have not very pleasant smell, but never came across something like this.. This is truly smells like jar of paint or some chemical, I cannot put this into my body.

this product did not work for me if anything it made me want to eat more will try something else.

Didn’t lose any weight on this and burp it all day long!!

Does High-Tech Satietrim Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

On the official Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals website, no mention is made of a money back guarantee or a returns policy of any kind.

Where Can I Buy High-Tech Satietrim?

High-Tech Satietrim can be purchased from a handful of online webstores, including the Hi-Tech Pharma website, Mind & Muscle, Vita Springs, Vita Cart, and eBay. Hi-Tech Pharma products have long been discontinued on more mainstream outlets like Amazon and Walmart, mainly due to the manufacturer’s unfortunate reputation for churning out unsafe products.

A 90-capsule supply of High-Tech Satietrim costs $39.95 on the official Hi-Tech Pharma website, and appears to cost around $20-23 from other outlets. The cheapest price we found for High-Tech Satietrim was $20 from eBay.
