Below we take an in-depth look at Impact Diet Whey to see how it can benefit the consumer.
Taste and texture are huge factors when choosing a protein shake – especially if the product is being used as a meal replacement. If the product tastes bad, mixes poorly or has an undesirable texture, then consumers are much more likely to quit using the product and following their new meal replacement program. This appears to be a significant problem with Impact Diet Whey.
The name of the supplement would suggest that this is a low calorie protein supplement, but it actually has more calories than the other whey protein shake offered by MyProtein, Impact Whey.
The increased serving size and calorie count per serving could make the shake more suitable as a meal replacement than as an extra source of calories. It appears that the additional ingredients of green tea, glutamine, acetyl L-carnitine and psyllium are the elements that make this a ‘diet’ protein powder, as they are often used in weight loss aids.
Side effects may include increased bowel movements, nausea, thirst, stomach cramps, fatigue, and bloating.
There are two sizes of Impact Diet Whey available. A smaller bag, weighing 1.45 kg, costs £19.49 plus delivery charges. The larger bag, weighing 3 kg, costs £34.99, plus delivery charges.
The actual effectiveness of each ingredient varies; green tea can increase thermogenesis which in turn helps to burn more calories, but its impact upon weight loss is small. Carnitine is often associated with fat burn, but in practice this has only been found in the elderly, although it can help combat fatigue, which is useful when exercising regularly. Psyllium is a laxative, which is a less than ideal ingredient to include in a twice daily supplement. Side effects are possible as well, something that is not covered on the official sales page.
The manufacturers do not offer a money-back guarantee on Impact Diet Whey. Overall, we do not recommend Impact Diet Whey to our readers.

Impact Diet Whey is a Whey Protein supplement, designed to help consumers achieve a calorie deficit whilst still being able to supplement high quality protein. The product is marketed as a diet form of their Impact Whey supplement, but a comparison of the two product shows that Impact Diet Whey actually has more calories and protein per serving, as the servings are much larger (two scoops instead of one). Impact Diet Whey contains 219 calories per serving, whilst Impact Whey contains only 109 calories per serving.
Impact Diet Whey has additional ingredients that could potentially aid weight loss, including green tea extract. The supplement could also be considered a weight loss supplement if used as a high protein meal replacement shake, rather than being taken in addition to a meal.
1. Add 2 large scoops (60g) to water or milk in a Myprotein shaker and consume anytime throughout the day.
2. If you are following a calorie controlled diet, mix with water only to avoid adding extra fat and calories contained in milk.
The powder comes in several flavours, including double chocolate, banana, chocolate mint, cookies and cream, latte, strawberry shortcake, and vanilla cookie.
Impact Diet Whey is manufactured by MyProtein, a sports nutrition company. They can be contacted either through the chat function on their website, or using the contact details found on their official website.
The manufacturers have provided the following description of Impact Diet Whey and its supposed benefits.
Whether you’re striving to attain your ideal body shape, trying to shed a jean size or simply following a new lifestyle regime to boost your health, Myprotein’s Impact Diet Whey is a perfect choice of supplement that should be combined with a structured training program.
When trying to establish whether a product will actually work, we look at the ingredients used, the quantities that they are used in, and also turn to customer reviews, to see how the product works in practice.
The majority of the customer reviews we looked at mentioned issues with the mixability and texture of the shake, most likely due to the oats used in the powder formula. Although this is a common complaint, most people found the product to be good, provided they could tolerate the problems with the texture, or found a way to deal with it. Solutions include mixing it in a blender, or making a less watery mixture and frying it in a pan to make protein pancakes.
Customers who have used Impact Diet Whey as a meal replacement shake have lost significant amounts of weight, and side effects appear to be uncommon. Other reviewers, who are using this supplement alongside meals, not to replace them, whilst undertaking strength and muscle building exercises, have reported increases in strength and muscle mass, as expected.
The ingredients are a mixture of fairly standard ingredients that can be found in many protein shakes, and weight loss ingredients that are more often found in diet pills that protein shakes.
Green tea contains a range of polyphenols, including one sub-group called catechins, which studies have focused upon. One study found that participants who drank beverages high in catechins extracted from green tea (690 mg/d) lost significantly more weight and body fat than those who drank beverages low in catechins (22 mg/d).
Green tea also contains naturally occurring caffeine, which will increase energy levels and potentially cause a slight increase to the body’s metabolic rate for a few hours after consumption.
If used as a meal replacement product, consumers could lose weight using Impact Diet Whey. We do not believe that the added ‘diet’ ingredients will make a significant impact to weight loss on their own, especially as each serving contains over 200 calories, nearly double the amount of calories found in a serving of Impact Whey.
The ingredients used in Impact Diet Whey are detailed below. The manufacturers note that the ingredient quantities are for banana flavour, and the amounts found in the other five flavours may vary by as much as 10%. According to the official website, each serving of two scoops provides 35 grams of protein and 219 calories.
Banana Flavour:
Protein Blend (71%)
Milk Protein Concentrate
Ground Oats:
Flaxseed Powder
Green tea contains naturally occurring caffeine and so could potentially cause a range of side effects including headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness and insomnia. Green tea can also cause constipation.
Psyllium Husks act as a laxative, and so can cause loose stools, diarrhea, and dehydration. Prolonged use of laxatives can lead to dependency. Use of laxatives can also interfere with the absorption and effectiveness of the contraceptive pill and other medications.
Whey protein is a milk product; avoid if you are lactose intolerant, are allergic to milk, or dairy produce. Whey protein can cause:

There are literally thousands of reviews for this supplement on the official website. The majority of them are positive, but the majority of people agree (regardless of their final verdict) that the powder does not mix well at all, and needs to be blended for better results and to make it easier to drink.
Bought 3kg of this, didn’t mix well at all that was with the blender too. Usually get the impact whey but thought i’d try this one had 2 shakes out of the bag decided I can’t drink it. Back to normal whey.
Impact Diet Whey tastes horrible and doesn’t mix at all. All crystals and horrid. Impact whey is much better. I can’t understand why this is so disgusting.
I’ve been using the chocolate mint impact diet whey powder for 11 days now and I’ve lost 9 pounds one shake in the morning and at lunch and a semi healthy dinner at night im totally chuffed with the results and that’s with no exercise. Going to try to start adding that in next week. Only another 22 pounds to go to hit my target. Mixes great and tastes lovely in 250mls of semi skimmed milk.
Impact Diet Whey is great for dieting and working out, but the taste makes me feel sick. It’s horrible to drink and makes me feel queasy when drinking it. I would not buy the strawberry shortcake flavour again. It’s horrible, and the small bits of short cake do not help when working out either. The protein itself is good, but this particular one I would never buy again.
The vanilla version of this product tastes really nice and the product mixes effortlessly in milk. It keeps me very full too! My only gripe is that it settles almost instantly. There is quite a lot of ‘bits’ in the product (look like wheat husks) which taste absolutely fine but they dive straight to the bottom of the glass meaning that I had to keep the mixed product in my shaker and drink it direct from there.
Ok the pointless bits first taste wise I went for double chocolate and its really nice, mixing wise as its got the oats in you do end up with a fair bit floating around but if you leave them to soak for awhileits not too bad. I’ve only been using it for a week or so but it definitely stops the afternoon nibbles. I tend to train after work so i have so of this mid afternoon and i’ve noticed my energy levels are maintaining better during my work out. Can’t say much more than that really.
I’ve used many products in the past, but this Impact Diet Whey has given me the quickest and best results of all. If you struggle with lean muscle gains this is the product to buy! Good value for money, tastes really nice, let down a little by the fact it doesn’t mix well but it’s really a problem. I use it as soon as I wake up and after exercise. Combined with a clean diet and plenty of quality sleep I’ve gained 4kgs in 4 weeks and would recommend this product to anyone looking to gain muscle with as little fat as possible, or someone trying lose weight as a meal/snack replacement. Thanks Myprotein for another great product!
