Intek CLA Evolution uses a high dose of CLA, as well as L-Carnitine and Caralluma Fimbriata, and promises to aid weight loss by reducing the appetite and reducing body fat.
Below we take an in-depth look at Intek CLA Evolution to see if it is an effective weight loss aid as claimed by the manufacturer.

Intek provide the following list of supposed benefits for Intek CLA Evolution:
The ingredients used in Intek CLA Evolution are listed below. The ingredient quantities listed are per serving of two capsules.
Whilst CLA has shown positive results in studies in rats and mice, aiding significant weight loss and acting as a fat burner, the clinical results in humans are much more varied. Some human clinical trials showed significant fat loss, improved body composition and even increases in muscle mass. However, other studies found no results or changes at all.
One review paper that pooled the results of 18 studies of CLA found that, on average, CLA caused ‘modest’ fat loss. Other reviews describe it as a relatively poor and unreliable fat burner. Because it is a single ingredient supplement that is non-stimulant, CLA Forte can be stacked with other products, and can be taken in the evening.
Consumers are instructed to take between 1500 and 4500 mg of CLA per day (2-6 capsules) by the manufacturer. At the lower end of the recommended dosage, this falls short of the amounts used in clinical trials, but the higher doses do match up (3200 mg- 6400 mg). However these studies still provide a variety of results.
Caralluma Fimbriata may work as an appetite suppressant but it takes time to build up in the body and for effects to be noticed, and so should be used as a long term supplement.
L-carnitine is an amino acid; it can be used to aid muscle building, but the ingredient must be used in conjunction with muscle-building exercises. L-Carnitine can also reduce fatigue. There is some evidence that it can reduce body fat in the elderly, but it does not appear to work this way in the majority of the population.
There are some ingredients in Intek CLA Evolution that could potentially cause some side effects.
There are some potential side effects associated with the use of CLA. It can cause stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea and fatigue. CLA can also increase triglyceride levels in some cases.
Caralluma Fimbriata might cause some side effects such as stomach upset, intestinal gas, constipation, and stomach pain.
L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a “fishy” odour.
Not intended for use by pregnant or nursing women. If you are taking any medications, consult your doctor before use. Discontinue use and consult your doctor if any adverse reactions occur. Not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. Keep out of reach of children.

CLA does appear to have some effect upon the body, somewhat reducing fat mass and aiding muscle growth in consumers who are exercising regularly in order to build muscle. It may not result in weight loss overall, but as it may aid muscle growth, it could therefore indirectly boost the body’s metabolic rate. There is also the worry that it is an unreliable or unpredictable supplement. Studies report vastly different effects upon the body, with some noting no changes at all.
CLA Forte will benefit those who exercise regularly and follow a strict diet more than anyone else; we believe that it will not aid huge amounts of weight loss, but can make sculpting a more desirable figure slightly easier for people who have only a few pounds to lose.
This is not an ideal product for anyone who is trying to lose a lot of fat mass.
Intek CLA Evolution can be purchased from the manufacturer’s official website, Intek Nutrition, for $39.99, plus delivery charges.
A single bottle contains 100 capsules, and consumers are instructed to take between 2 and 6 capsules per day. Therefore a single bottle should last for between 16 and 50 days of use.
Intek do not offer a money-back guarantee on their products. They also do not state what their returns policy is on their official website.
When we contacted Intek posing as a potential customer, they told us that ‘If the product is unopened we can return or exchange the product.’
They did not specify how long after purchase this returns policy is valid for, and so consumers who are seeking a refund should contact the company directly to discuss their individual case. The customer service team replied quickly to our query via email.
There is no return address provided on the website, and so anyone seeking a return needs to contact the company first to obtain an address to send the package to.
Overall, we agree with the final judgement on examine.com that CLA is overhyped, and is a poor and unreliable fat burner. The other ingredients also appear unlikely to aid significant weight loss.
In general, CLA supplements such as Intek CLA Evolution are not going to provide significant fat loss results, especially for someone who is looking to lose a large amount of weight. It could play a very small role in helping to preserve muscle whilst dieting to lose fat mass, but again, the effects are not hugely predictable or great.
This is an incredibly expensive product compared to other CLA supplements. This is especially true if the consumer is taking the maximum recommended dose (6 tablets per day), as a single bottle would only last for 16 days, and would cost $80 a month to use!
This price is unacceptably high, especially as the manufacturer does not accept refund on opened products- if the consumer finds no benefits from taking this supplement, then they are unlikely to be able to get their money back.
Overall, we do not recommend Intek CLA Evolution to our readers.
