Isagenix IsaFlush

As with any multi-level marketing company, Isagenix puts most of its efforts into recruiting people to sell their product. We dislike the practices of MLM companies anyway, and we dislike autoship agreements even more – something which is also a feature of Isagenix products. This particular product, IsaFlush is a laxative product (despite claims to the contrary), which can cause dependence when used frequently, can be dangerous, and does not assist in actual weight-loss.

Pros

  • Laxative – can treat constipation

Cons

  • Unclear ingredients list
  • Auto-ship program from a multi-level marketing company
  • Not a weight loss aid
Isagenix IsaFlush
Whilst many medical professionals state that cleanses and detoxing are not necessary to maintain good internal health, there are many people who devoutly follow the practice. There are also those who use cleanses to lose weight, such as the subject of today’s review, Isagenix IsaFlush.

Isagenix IsaFlush Overview

What you need to know about Isagenix IsaFlush

IsaFlush is manufactured by a company called Isagenix, a multi-level marketing company based in the USA. They describe themselves as ‘an innovative health and wellness company providing personalized solutions for lifelong health and wealth’.

Despite the claims made that this product contains no laxatives, it does seem to be a fairly effective laxative that helps to promote bowel movements.

What are the side effects of Isagenix IsaFlush?

According to the official product website, whilst ‘everyone is different’ Isaflush ‘shouldn’t cause any digestive cramping.’ This phrasing, however, does suggest that this side effect is a possibility. Some websites do suggest that a clay like discharge may occur, although it appears more likely when combined with the herbal laxative psyllium.

How much does Isagenix IsaFlush cost?

Isagenix Isaflush cannot be purchased from the official website, isagenix.com, but it is available at some other online retailers, including amazon. One bottle of IsaFlush costs $20.25 from amazon, and contains 60 capsules.

Isagenix IsaFlush Key Features

IsaFlush is manufactured by a company called Isagenix, a multi-level marketing company based in the USA. They describe themselves as ‘an innovative health and wellness company providing personalized solutions for lifelong health and wealth’.

They have a wide range of products in the categories of weight loss, energy and performance and healthy ageing.

Isagenix IsaFlush Key Points

  • Manufactured by Isagenix
  • 60 capsules per bottle
  • Laxative

We discourage those who do visit the Isagenix website from signing up to be an associate. Their ‘simple’ money making plan for associates to follow the ‘’You+2, Them+2′ scheme has the general layout of a pyramid scheme. Their promotional videos focus far more on the money an associate could make, rather on the products they would be selling.

How to Take Isagenix IsaFlush

Take one to two capsules per day, as needed.

A quick look at Isagenix earnings also reveals just how few people make any money as an associate, with less than 5% of associates being considered business builders (defined by earning $500 or more over the year 2013). Of this 5%, 90% earned less than $10,000 in the year 2013. Considering that a business builder start up pack costs $1099, it is clear that many people are not even making their investment back.

Isagenix IsaFlush Concerns:

    • FSA made warnings about consuming Bentonite
    • Auto-ship program
    • Continuous use could cause dependence

Watching some of the promotional videos, it is clear that the focus is more on building your own business by recruiting other consultants, rather than selling products yourself.

What does Isagenix IsaFlush claim to do?

The promotional video for IsaFlush states,

Isa-flush is a collection of herbs and minerals which help the gut to work better. It effectively and safely encourages regularity and helps to soothe intestinal discomfort.

The same video also suggests that it supports heart and lung health, although how this is achieved is not specified.

Does Isagenix IsaFlush work?

This product is not designed to be a weight loss aid, and is a cleansing product that promotes regularity and aids digestion. However, there are references to weight loss on the Isagenix Isaflush promotional video. A written statement at the start of the video writes,

Weight loss results may vary. In a recent study, participants averaged a weight loss of 7 pounds at the completion of their first Isagenic 9 day program.

This type of weight loss is more than likely water weight and the removal of waste from the bowels. It is unlikely to be permanent weight loss, especially as none of the ingredients affect the metabolism or appetite.

Despite the claims made that this product contains no laxatives, it does seem to be a fairly effective laxative that helps to promote bowel movements.

Isagenix IsaFlush Ingredients

According to one ingredients list, IsaFlush contains 100 mg of proprietary blend of bentonite, hyssop and peppermint and 200 mg of magnesium oxide. However, on the promotional leaflet for IsaFlush, the following ingredients are listed.

  • Magnesium: A mineral that helps relax the colon and attract water to it for softening the stool. Whilst the product websites states that the product contains no laxatives, other professional sources describe magnesium as being suitable for use as a laxative for a short period of time.
    Source:http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a601074.html
  • Bentonite: According to the promotional literature, this is ‘A clay that absorbs toxins and impurities as it goes through the system’. It swells upon contact with water, and is thought to absorb ‘toxins’ and heavy metals from the body. There is no clinical evidence that this product is an effective or healthy detoxing agent, or that it is required by the body. It can be occasionally prescribed as a laxative. There are concerns that Bentonite can be already contaminated and contain high levels of heavy metals before it enters the body. It is also used in industrial drilling and is a key component of cat litter.
  • Peppermint Leaf: Peppermint is used to treat IBS and upset stomachs. However, the FDA have banned the sale of peppermint as a medication for use as a digestive aid because of a lack of clinical support. It can still be sold as a supplement, provided no medical claims are made about preventing or treating illness.
    Source:http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-705-peppermint.aspx?activeingredientid=705&activeingredientname=peppermint
  • Black Walnut: Whilst the promotional literature states that this ingredient ‘Promotes bowel regularity and relief of occasional constipation’, other sources state that the tannins in black walnut can reduce pain and swelling, and that ‘Black walnut is used to treat parasitic worm infections’.
    Source:http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-639-black%20walnut.aspx?activeingredientid=639&activeingredientname=black%20walnut

There is some confusion about the ingredients used in this cleansing pill, as one ingredients list mentions Hyssop, whilst another mentions Black Walnut. Hyssop is a mint-like plant, whilst black walnut is a tree.

Hyssop has not been studied clinically, but has been used in herbal medicine to treat a range of ailments, including;

sore throats, colds, hoarseness, and as an expectorant. Some herbalists also believe that hyssop has beneficial effects for asthma, urinary tract inflammation, and appetite stimulation. Its effectiveness in relieving gas and colic also are listed under its medicinal uses.

With two different ingredients lists being available, the accuracy of any claims made about the product is immediately questionable. However, considering the number of laxatives present in IsaFlush, the claim that it is laxative free is certainly misleading. As people can quite easily develop a dependence upon laxative based cleanse products, requiring their usage to pass bowel movements, they are not suitable for long term use.

We are quite frustrated by Isagenix distributers for promoting auto-ship programs for this product, when customers should not be taking this product for more than two weeks at a time, if at all.

Isagenix IsaFlush Side Effects

According to the official product website, whilst ‘everyone is different’ Isaflush ‘shouldn’t cause any digestive cramping.’ This phrasing, however, does suggest that this side effect is a possibility. Some websites do suggest that a clay like discharge may occur, although it appears more likely when combined with the herbal laxative psyllium.

The Foods Standards Agency in Britain have released warnings in the past about consuming Bentonite clay, a key ingredient in this diet pill. Whilst their warning relates to specific individual products containing high levels of lead and arsenic, they have also noted that it is impossible to know where any single company obtains their ingredients from. It is possible that other Bentonite products also contain high levels of arsenic and lead.

Exposure to lead presents a risk for infants and children in particular, as it can be detrimental to brain development and affect intellectual performance. For the same reason, pregnant women are also advised to avoid eating or drinking clay due to the potential risk to their unborn child.

Peppermint can cause some side effects including heartburn, and allergic reactions including flushing, headache, and mouth sores.

Caution:

Not suitable for children, or pregnant or breastfeeding women. Must be taken with plenty of water.

Isagenix IsaFlush Customer Feedback

There is one customer testimonial on the official Isagenix website:

For me, one a day is not enough to get my sluggish system moving. For the first week I have to take 2-3 per day to get me going, but once I become regular on the cleanse products then one a day is fine. I do love this product though!

There are some customer reviews on Amazon, but they seem to be primarily focused upon the seller themselves, and using the opportunity to promote their own associate account:

I am an Isagenix Associate, and I am NOT sure where this seller is getting his prices. It is very wrong for him to be selling this product on amazon. You are paying WAY TOO MUCH if you are buying it from this sight.

When you buy into Isagenix, you are buying not only the product, but coaching and support, a chance to make money and get your product for free, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
When you are buying Isagenix off of amazon, you are simply buying the product for a LOT more money than you would be paying if you got it from an Isagenix associate. And who knows, this product could be tampered with, and couldn’t even be the right product! SCARY!

I love Isagenix, and I use it for my 3 kids, my husband and myself. I have lost 50 pounds since May of 2013 and went from “obese” to “thin and muscular” on a body composition scale.
Isagenix is an amazing product line, and it works. It really does.

Please dont buy it from this seller, and do not buy it from amazon. Only buy it the RIGHT and TRUE way with an isagenix assosiate, like myself.

Here is my web sight that you can go onto and get the products, my 110% coaching and support and a 100% money back guarantee no questions asked.

This reviewer goes on to promote her own email address. We do not agree with this ‘Isa-associate’ that children can take this product. She also suggests that her weight loss is somehow associated with use of the product, even though it contains no weight loss boosting ingredients.

Unfortunately it looks like you’ll get ripped off purchasing Isagenix products through Amazon. Even purchasing this product at retail price is only $22/box, and if you enroll for the autoship program, it’s only $17/box. There are a ton more products, flavors, and varieties available as well.

We recommend customers avoid auto-ship programs at all costs, because of the difficulty in cancelling these programs.

Isaflush really works well in cleansing the intestines and supplements a healthy diet and balanced vitamin program. This is the only Isagenix product i use every day.

I use the other Isagenix products from time to time; however, the IsaFlush is something I use every day. It works beautifully and gently, and I feel so much better using it. Thanks for offering it on Amazon.

Isagenix IsaFlush Money-Back Guarantee

Reports suggest that Isa-associates offer a money-back guarantee on the company’s product range.

Where To Buy Isagenix IsaFlush

Isagenix Isaflush cannot be purchased from the official website, isagenix.com, but it is available at some other online retailers, including amazon. One bottle of IsaFlush costs $20.25 from amazon, and contains 60 capsules. Because there are numerous sellers of the product registered on amazon.com, we recommend double checking all of the prices available, as some sellers are more expensive than others. For example, we found another seller offering the same bottle for $23.29 plus shipping.

Isagenix uses ‘Isa-associates’ to sell their products for them. They appear to be independent distributers who earn a commission on sold products. According to one forum post written by a distributer, signing up for an auto-ship program of this product costs $17 per bottle.

Watchdog Verdict

Isagenix is a multi-level marketing scheme that places such a huge emphasis upon recruiting more consultants that it can only be compared to a pyramid scheme. We would recommend that customers avoid the company in general, because customers are the prime candidates to be recruited as Isa-associates, or at least pestered to do so.

The company also runs an autoship program, which offers the product cheaper, at the wholesale price of $17 rather than the retail price of $22. We strongly discourage consumers from signing up to any autoship program, especially to purchase a product that ideally should not be used for more than a week or two every few months. They can also be incredibly difficult to cancel.

The product itself is a laxative, despite all of the claims made to the contrary. Considering that the official website and official promotional literature disagree on the ingredients used in the product, we would advise to avoid Isagenix IsaFlush, as you simply do not know what is used in the pills.

As a weight loss pill, any effects would be incredibly short term, and as a cleansing product, the product should not be used by children or pregnant or breastfeeding women, and should not be used for the long term, despite that Isa-associates recommend.

We do not recommend Isagenix IsaFlush.

  1. I have been using Isagenix for over a year now,and I have never been better. I have a friend who uses the Isaflush alone after having constipation all her life and has never had a problem with it. She is regular now and will always use it she said. The Bentanite clay is used to carry out heavy metals and toxins. Isagenix deals with the the toxins in our bodies that we ingest or are exposed to in our environment on a daily basis. These toxins cause inflammation in our bodies that cause swelling and pain in our joints. I feel that the two people that felt exhaustion while on the third day were dealing with detox. A very common feeling your body goes through when dealing with the toxins that our system helps our bodies with. The system will stir them up and allow your body to eliminate them through your waste system. The feeling of exhaustion will pass as your body rids itself of toxins and can usually last from 3 days to 7 days. It has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am breast cancer survivor and my body was beaten down and my immune system was shot. After using this system for one week, I was sleeping better, was regular now, and had so much energy, I no longer needed 6 cups of coffee to get by.All of the products are backed up clinically ,although our company makes no claim to cure or prevent any disease,it helps our body to become balanced in order for our body to gain health through proper nutrients. The isaflush uses cleansing herbs and magnesium and pepperming leaf to soothe the digestive tract and while the bentanite clay acts like a scrubbing brush in our intestines to grab a hold of our waste and allow it to be eliminate on a daily basis as it pulls and carries out the heavy metals in our body. Isaflush basically reboots your system by promoting a balanced digestive tract with regulating your bowel movements without the use of laxatives or stimulants. This is an amazing product and having been through radiation, I want all the help my body can get with dealing with impurities in my body. I also want to address the fact of Our company being a multi-level marketing company, but there is no pressure to become a consultant. If you choose to build a buisness you can and we have an outstanding compensation plan . We are part of Direct sales that Mary Kay and Origami Owl and Pampered Chef are a part of. We are not a pyramid scheme. They are illegal. If your ever interested in any more information you can go to IsagenixHealth.net or IsagenixProduct.net. These are two valuable resources that will help with any information you may need in regard to any more questions on the safety of our products. Thank you for reading this and hope this helps.

  2. I use IsaGenix and feel this review wasn’t done in accordance with how IsaFlush should be used. IsaFlush is not intended to be used as a stand-alone, which this review implies. Nor is it specifically for weightloss. It is intended to be included as part of the IsaGenix clean eating lifestyle. IsaGenix is mostly used for weightloss, but depending on the other products used many people also use their products for increased energy, or for building lean muscle with their exercise program. The program as a whole works. I doubt any of the products would perform well individually, or if not included as part of a clean/healthy eating lifestyle.

  3. Isaflush is only one product. I just started the diet, I have lots of energy unlike the other reviews you posted. I didn’t go into Isagenics to make money. I also do Ameo Oils. I don’t do the oils to make money. Very few people who do multi level marketing make a lot of money. I have a friend who was on deaths door. Over 300lbs, she couldn’t breath. She started Isagenics last August. And is down 108lbs. What a transformation. I need to loose about 60lbs myself. Because of her success I am going to give it a shot… she has so much energy and has gone from literally no activity to working out out an hour 6 days a week.. like I said I just signed up and am in to it the 2nd day. I will be honest, if I find that I become weak I will come back to this site and give my experience.

  4. After three days i had to get off of it. I did drop weight but it made me extraordinarily weak- – exhaustion like i have never ever had. Used the product as said with small snacks and followed the program- but felt terrible. Two thumbs down. Organic is Organic and not out of a box

    1. I started the image is in August and also stopped after 3 days. I was exhausted, not energized at all. Constipated too and I have never had any digestive issues. I drink an inordinate amount of water too! I was advised to take the isaflush. That helped with the constipation; however, the ingredients are sketchy. At first I thought it was just magnesium but then realized it has bentonite in it. That’s what they use in kitty litter. I was very optimistic to start this program but it was awful. Also, for something that promotes itself as so healthy, it has a high amount of sugars. Also , with any concerns voiced to my “coach”, they had an answer for everything as to why I should keep on the product.
