We take a look to see if Legion Phoenix is really better than other diet pills available.
This is a difficult one. On the one hand, the product has excellent reviews from customers, and a great money back guarantee. However, customers are being told that this product contains no stimulants and causes no side effects, which are both incorrect.
The individual ingredients can cause serious side effects, although the incidence of these varies from person to person. There is also an extensive list of people who should avoid the product for health reasons, making it unsuitable for a large group of the target market, i.e. people who are trying to lose weight.
Whilst the ingredients list is generally promising, with significant amounts of clinically proven weight loss ingredients such as Naringin, Green Tea Extract, and 5-HTP, there are some of the ingredients that we are more concerned about. Synephrine and Hordenine are stimulant ingredients, which are associated with numerous side effects, although this has been overlooked because they are linked strongly with significant boosts to weight loss. Some of the other ingredients such as Hesperidin and Forskohlin have zero or limited potential for weight loss, with the supporting clinical studies being mediocre at best.
There are numerous, and potentially dangerous, side effects associated with the ingredients of Legion Phoenix. For a full list, please see the Side Effects tab below.
One bottle costs $34.95 plus delivery, and contains 120 capsules, enough for 30 servings. There is also a discounted offer for those buying the triple pack, which costs $93.95 instead of $104.95.
Legion Phoenix is hard to rate, for it has numerous good points, but a few bad points that we cannot just ignore.
Phoenix may be a good potential diet pill for some, especially if they are willing to overlook the potential of side effects from occurring. However, we would recommend consumers avoiding products that have ingredients that have caused heart attacks, coma and even death in healthy patients before.
We reject Legion Phoenix.
The most popular consumer choice in 2017 is Phentaslim.
With a combination of proven ingredients, superb customer service and a 60-day money-back guarantee, Phentaslim is making big waves in the diet world.

Legion supplements are the manufacturers behind the relatively new product, Phoenix, which is a fat burner. Legion Supplements was created by Mike Matthews, a health and fitness author who has released numerous successful titles and has a huge and devoted fan base. The about page of the website details how Mike Matthews hates ‘the exaggeration, lies, overblown advertising, and confusing pseudoscience of the industry’ as much as his customers. Whilst this is refreshing, as there are certainly a lot of fraudulent claims and scams being run within the diet pill industry, we do have some issues with this claim.
Mike has told customers via his official Facebook page that Legion Phoenix contains no stimulants, when in reality hordenine and synephrine are stimulant ingredients that are known to stimulate the metabolism. Whilst this is a minor point, we feel that this could be misleading to customers who put a great deal of faith in Mr Matthews.
Mr Matthews has also claimed on numerous sites (Amazon, Facebook, and his own website), that the product has no side effects. Looking at the individual ingredients used, there are a whole host of possible side effects which could occur, as detailed below. In line with the idea that this product supposedly has no side effects, only the positive aspects of each ingredients are discussed on the product website.
The contact page has a full set of contact details, including a contact box, email addresses and a phone number, complete with opening times. Mike (or perhaps one of his employees) is also active on his Facebook page, replying to customer comments regularly. The company is based in Clearwater, Florida, and a full address is provided on the official website.
Two capsules are to be taken, twice daily, with meals.
Some of these ingredients look incredibly specialist and technical, until their source is considered; for example Epigallocatechin gallate is extracted from Green Tea, which is an incredibly common ingredient in diet pills. Similarly, Hordenine and Synephrine are both from Bitter Orange, another incredibly common ingredient used in diet pills.
There is clinical evidence to support the majority of these ingredients being a valid weight loss aid, but there are a few ingredients that have inconclusive evidence about weight loss. For example, Forskohlin may decrease fat mass, but it did not contribute to any weight loss in the relevant studies.
In general, the ingredients here are present in significant doses, similar to the doses used in clinical trials.
After a long introduction describing how many other fat burners are inferior products using small quantities of cheap stimulants and other under-dosed, unproven or ineffective ingredients, the official Phoenix webpage eventually gets around to describing how their own product supposedly does work. They state:
PHOENIX’s formulation is the result of an extensive scientific review of a wide variety of natural molecules known to favorably affect fat loss, and we carefully chose a handful that work synergistically to safely deliver consistent results on all three points described above. The result is the most powerful combination of safe, natural fat-burning agents on the market. Every ingredient is backed by sound clinical research and is included at clinically effective dosages.
The ‘three points described above’, are the three ways of increasing the rate of weight loss, i.e. increasing your basal metabolic rate, reducing hunger, and making the ‘overall experience of dieting more enjoyable’.
The website then describes how the product works in detail, by going through each individual ingredient and its properties.
Although the formula is not perfect, containing some ingredients that have less clinical support than we deem necessary (e.g. Forskohlin), in general this diet pill does seem to boost weight loss consistently. The customer reviews certainly support this, being overwhelmingly positive.
The reviews also demonstrate that this fat burner works best when used in conjunction with an active lifestyle, regular exercise and a calorie balanced diet.
The ingredients list provided on the official website is detailed, providing not only the ingredients, but also including the quantity of each ingredient used. The quantities provided below are per serving of 4 capsules, which is the total and maximum dose per day. Two capsules are to be taken, twice daily, with meals.
The websites recommends that for maximum results, customers should combine the product with caffeine. Caffeine not only boosts the metabolism, but also interacts with several of the ingredients found in this diet pill, primarily synephrine, to increase the potency of the diet pill further. Customers may want to reintroduce caffeine into their diet slowly to minimize the chances of side effects from occurring.
5HTP has been associated with numerous side effects; it is unknown whether these side effects were caused by a compromised product, a contaminant, or by the product itself.
Web MD states,
There is concern that it can cause a serious side effect called eosinophilia myalgia syndrome. Some people think this side effect is only caused by a contaminant in some 5-HTP products; however, there is not enough scientific evidence to know if it is caused by 5-HTP, a contaminant, or some other factor. Until more is known, 5-HTP should be used cautiously.
Other potential side effects of 5-HTP include nausea, nightmares, heartburn, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, sexual problems, and muscle problems.
Hesperidin supplements cause only occasional adverse effects, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and allergic reactions.
Synephrine and Hordenine are both extracted from Bitter Orange, and side effects associated with these stimulants include increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, fainting, and even heart attack and stroke in healthy patients. The Mayo Clinic has recommended avoiding use of Bitter Orange extracts because in their opinion, the risk of using the product is not worth the pay-off of some weight loss that could be achieved using other means.
Customers should remember that the effects of synephrine are enhanced when combined with caffeine. Those who find this diet pill to be strong without caffeine, should avoid caffeine use in general whilst using the product, as consuming caffeine does increase the chances of side effects.
Not intended for use by persons under age 18.
Do not exceed recommended dose.
Do not consume synephrine from other sources while taking PHOENIX.
Consult your physician prior to use if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you are taking medication, including but not limited to MAOIs, SSRIs, or other antidepressants or antipsychotics.
Individuals with a known medical condition should consult a healthcare professional before using any dietary supplement.
Exert caution when using PHOENIX alongside other stimulatory and neurologically acting dietary supplements.
Despite there being a testimonials and reviews section on the official website, there are no reviews or testimonials from customers posted here.
Elsewhere on the internet, we have been able to find several reviews, primarily on Amazon. The product only started being shipped on August 13th 2014, but there are a surprisingly large number of reviews that have been left in only 2 months. Many of the customers seem to have purchased other Legion products or books written by Mike Matthews, the founder of the company. All of the reviews are positive, and many of the reviewers are following strict diet and exercise regimes, many of which are designed by Mike Matthews.
2.1 lbs down from the first week of use — and i didn’t even do cardio this week (next week I will).
I’ve been following Mike’s workouts & reading his books for the last year or so Tried most of the Legion products as well. So far I’m impressed with the Phoenix Fat Burner. Cravings are lower. I’ve dropped a lb or two. I like the fact it has no caffeine so it doesn’t interfere with my pre-workout or a cup of coffee before my 4am gym time.
Simply amazing! Associated with a proper diet, this product really helps to keep under control the appetite. The results I am getting are amazing, and I will continue buying it. Thanks Mike once again for helping many people in reaching their goal!
Simply put, this product works great.
I wish I could post my MyFitnessPal weight loss chart over the last 3 months as it clearly shows a significant increase in weight loss since I started taking my first bottle of Phoenix on August 12th. I follow my diet and exercise plan very close and I typically lose about 0.8lbs per week.
Since taking Phoenix the 0.8lbs per week jumped up to about 1.3lbs per week. I didn’t change my diet plan so I could isolate the effects of Phoenix. I was pretty shocked at how good the product actually worked. I had taken other fat burners in the past, and never really noticed much for results (but to be fair my diet was not as accurate as it is now)
I finished my first bottle a few days ago and am extremely pleased with the results. Looking forward to my next bottle.
I would recommend this product to anyone!
The money back guarantee on this product is actually pretty good. Customers are offered a three month guarantee, minus shipping.
The official website states,
We do not require the return of unused product for a refund on the first bottle of any formula purchased. However, for fraud protection, we require the return of product for any refunds beyond the first bottle. This guarantee is valid for all Legion formulas, with the exception of WHEY+, which is required to be returned to qualify for a refund.
Legion Phoenix can be purchased from the official Legion Athletics website. One bottle costs $34.95 plus delivery, and contains 120 capsules, enough for 30 servings. There is also a discounted offer for those buying the triple pack, which costs $93.95 instead of $104.95.
It is also available from amazon, although at the time of writing, it was out of stock, and so no price was available.
Thousands of customers have cut the fat with this fast and powerful thermogenic fat burner. Can suppress appetite, boost energy levels and elevate mood without the jitters.
