LeptiLean Review

LeptiLean Facts

  • Manufactured by AdvoCare International.
  • 60 capsules per bottle.
  • MLM company- compared with pyramid scheme.

LeptiLean is a weight loss product manufactured by AdvoCare International. The product is described as an appetite suppressant which also boosts the metabolism. In addition to its weight loss properties, the manufacturers also state that:

Ingredients in LeptiLean® also help support a healthy cardiovascular system, help maintain a normal blood glucose level, and promote overall well being.

AdvoCare International are a multilevel marketing company which sells nutrition, weight-loss, energy and sports performance products. This means that the thousands of sales consultants (also known as distributers) associated with the company are not employed directly by the company, but are freelance resellers of the products who work on commission. Their commission comes both from the sale of products and from the profits of other consultants that they recruit (often referred to as their down-line), and so they are often very pushy in trying to get potential customers to purchase products, but also to sign up as a distributer themselves.

Advocare have a poor online reputation, with the company being compared to a pyramid scheme by numerous reviewers. We recommend not signing up for the company, as estimations of potential earnings are often unrealistic and misleading; the majority of consultants who sign up for MLM companies fail to make back their initial financial investment.

How to Take LeptiLean

Take two capsules daily as needed. Consume at least 45 minutes before a meal.

LeptiLean Concerns:

  • Company have poor reputation.
  • Distributers sometimes refuse refunds despite Money Back guarantee.
  • Effectiveness declines sharply after 4 weeks of use.

What Does LeptiLean Claim To Do?

The manufacturer of LeptiLean makes the following statement about their product and its benefits:

AdvoCare LeptiLean® is an innovative weight-management product that supports appetite management, satiety and helps boost metabolism.* Ingredients in LeptiLean® also help support a healthy cardiovascular system, help maintain a normal blood glucose level, and promote overall well being.* This convenient and flexible product, free of caffeine, can be taken before any meal – breakfast, lunch or dinner – and can be easily combined with other programs.

So What Is LeptiLean and What Are The Ingredients?

The ingredients used in LeptiLean are listed below.

  • Vitamin A (as beta-carotene) 1429 IU (30% RDA)
  • Biotin 1 mg (333% RDA)
  • LeptiCore300 mg(Proprietary Blend of Gum Arabic, Guar Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Pomegranate Extract, Blue Green Algae extract, beta carotene): Because of the numerous ingredients in this patented and branded ingredient that consists of a proprietary formula, we have detailed the properties of each individual ingredient below.
  • Gum arabic: A dietary fibre that can dissolve in water. It can reduce cholesterol levels, and some people use it to reduce the appetite in order to boost weight loss.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-268
  • Locust bean gum: Also known as carob, this tree extract is used for treating digestion problems including diarrhoea and heartburn. It may indirectly benefit weight loss by decreasing the effectiveness of some enzymes in the stomach.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/ingredientmono-321-carob.aspx
  • Pomegranate fruit extract: Whilst eating pomegranate may improve digestion thanks to the presence of fibre, the small amount present in diet pills is unlikely to have the same effect. The NHS has concluded that; ‘Evidence around the health benefits of pomegranates are inconclusive.’
    Source: http://www.nhs.uk/is-pomegranate-a-superfood.aspx
  • Blue green algae extract: Whilst blue green algae is nutrient dense and highly bioavailable, the clinical evidence to support its use to combat any illness or ailment is currently very limited.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-923
  • Beta-carotene: Beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A, an essential nutrient. It has antioxidant activity, which helps to protect cells from damage. It is recommended that it is sourced from food rather than supplements, as the fruits and vegetables that contain it also offer other health benefits.
    Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-999
  • Naringin extract (fruit rind- citrus grandis) 125 mg: A compound found in grapefruits that accounts for its bitter taste, it is known to extend the amount of time that caffeine remains in the body. This would make the effects of caffeine also last longer. Research also suggests that Naringin enhances lipid (fat) metabolism in the body, which again could have positive implications for dieters.
    Source: http://www.lef.org/abstracts/codex/naringin_index.htm
  • PhosphoLean™ (N-Oleoyl-PE + EGCG (NOPE + EGCG)) 100 mg: PhosphoLean contains EGCG, a type of catechin extracted from green tea. Studies have shown that it increases thermogenesis in the body, burning more calories for a few hours after consumption. One study found that participants who drank beverages high in catechins extracted from green tea (690 mg/d) lost significantly more weight and body fat than those who drank beverages low in catechins (22 mg/d). NOPE used in conjunction with EGCG appears to help dieters stick to a low calorie diet plan, but only for about four weeks or so, with the effects having worn off by week 8.

  • Cat’s Claw extract (bark – Uncaria tomentosa) 50 mg: Cats Claw is a plant used for treating various digestive system disorders including swelling and pain of the large intestine, inflammation of the lower bowel, inflammation of the lining of the stomach, stomach ulcers, haemorrhoids, and leaky bowel syndrome.

So What Does All This Mean?

Lepticore contains two types of gum which could expand in the stomach and suppress the appetite. There is very little clinical research into how much this could impact upon weight loss. PhosphoLean contains EGCG; these catechins could aid weight loss by increasing thermogenesis, but the dosages are far lower than those used in relevant studies, even when the total dosage for the day is taken into account. Cats Claw may reduce bloating and indigestion, as well as soothing an upset stomach. It has no known connection to weight loss at this time.

Naringin is thought to increase lipolysis (one type of fat burning) in the body. It also extends the amount of time that caffeine stays in the bloodstream before being broken down. Customers who drink tea or coffee should be aware of this side effect, as it could cause sleep disturbances if they consume caffeine late in the afternoon or evening.

Does LeptiLean Have Any Side Effects?

There is very little information available about what side effects the ingredients of LeptiLean could cause. Customers report jitteriness and trouble staying awake.

Naringin in extracted from grapefruit and could interfere with the absorption of medications.

Cats Claw Bark can cause headache, dizziness, and vomiting. It is also thought to slow blood clotting and lower blood pressure.

Caution:
This product is not intended for pregnant or nursing women. Not suitable for those under the age of 18. Do not consume this product if you are taking any prescription medications. Consult your doctor if you are unsure about the suitability of this product.

Any LeptiLean Reviews From Customers?

There are numerous customer reviews for LeptiLean on amazon, where the product is sold.

Finally!!! A product that suppresses appetite successfully WITHOUT making you jittery! I absolutely love it! I take one before lunch and one before dinner and I hardly feel like eating at all. I will continue on with this product indefinitely.

Absolutely did not feel any difference. This stuff stinks, would not advise buying unless you like wasting your money. Tried to get a refund they would give it to me saying once the product is opened they can not take it back that I should call the manufacture. Never again!!!

This did seem to help me control my appetite. I never finished the bottle though due to it making me a little too jittery. I would recommend this to anyone who can handle the jitters better than I can.

When I first tried this, I thought I’d found a “miracle pill”. I was NEVER hungry, always energetic and happy, and was losing weight off my waist FINALLY. However, it wore off after only 3-4 days and my hunger came back worse than ever. I may as well have been taking a multivitamin from that point forward. I”m finishing off the bottle just because I paid for it, but it’s making no difference.

It worked ok for about 2 weeks, then I had to take more and more to get results. Eventually I was hungry all the time and couldn’t stay awake. Ended up at the MD who put me on a no carb diet to break the rxn. MD said to stay away from this type of supplement.

So Does LeptiLean Work?

The customer reviews and clinical evidence both suggest that this product could aid with appetite suppression, but only for a few weeks before the effects begin to decline. EGCG could help to increase thermogenesis in the body, burning more calories, but the effects are small at best, and the dosage used in LeptiLean is nowhere near as high as the amounts used in clinical trials.

Where Can I Buy LeptiLean?

LeptiLean can be purchased from the official Advocare website. A single bottle of 60 capsules costs $45.95. Distributers for the company can purchase a bottle for $36.76, and Advocare Advisors can purchase a bottle for $27.57.

The product is also available from amazon, here a single bottle costs $37.99 plus delivery costs.

Each bottle contains 60 capsules, and so will last for 30 days of use.

What About A Guarantee

Advocare state the following about their returns policy:

If a Retail Customer is not completely satisfied with the products they purchased, the Retail Customer may request a refund within 30 days from the date of purchase by returning the unused portion of the product and a copy of the Retail Sales Receipt.

If customers ordered through the website, then they should contact Advocare directly for a refund, but customers who ordered through a distributer should contact their distributer to organise the refund.

However, there are customer complaints that Advocare distributers have refused to give customers returns, possibly as this affects their own commission.

Watchdog Verdict

The clinical evidence suggests that LeptiLean could help to suppress the appetite and therefore aid weight loss, but only for about four weeks or so. It is not suitable for long term use. Customer reviews note that the positive effects wore off even faster than this; one dieter stated that it was only effective for three or four days.

The company who manufactures this product, Advocare, have a poor reputation online. Whilst they state that they have a 30-day money-back guarantee, customers have been refused refunds by company consultants. The company operates as a multi-level marketing company, and so consultants work on a commission basis and are described as very pushy with their products.

We recommend that our readers do not use LeptiLean for appetite suppression, and that they avoid AdvoCare International entirely. The company’s distributers promise great results and a high-paying career, but in most cases these promises are empty. We do not recommend LeptiLean to our readers.

  1. This product has not existed in the company for years now. It is no longer offered. Any Leptilean being sold on amazon is expired and being sold illegally which would explain negative side effects and lack of efficacy. I would do a little more research on the company before bashing it. You lose integrity by blinding creating posts like this.
