Luxxe Slim is a weight-loss supplement that seems popular in the Philippines, where it is often sold in combination with a skin lightening supplement called Luxxe White. Whilst usually sold via an MLM scheme, it is also available on eBay and Amazon. It seems pretty safe, but it doesn’t look effective. Luxxe Slim is expensive too, which isn’t surprising – most MLM products seem to be costly.
We take an in depth look to find out more.
Luxxe Slim comes from Frontrow, a direct marketing company (MLM) based in the Philippines. However, it is also on sale in the UK and USA, via sites such as Amazon and eBay. In our opinion, this supplement is extremely basic and low in ingredient quantities, and although we like that side effects seem unlikely, you may find this supplement does nothing at all. Luxxe Slim is expensive, especially when sold outside the Philippines, and in our opinion is just not worth the cost.
Side effects are unlikely to be severe but may include anxiety, jitteriness, insomnia, stomach upsets heartburn, diarrhoea and fishy body odour.
Luxxe Slim is very expensive and the price will depend upon where you buy. In addition, you have a choice of a 60ct bottle or 30ct bottle.
If you are in the Philippines you can buy direct from the Frontrow website. The suggested retail price is Php 2,980 ($58.32) for a bottle of 60 capsules (30 days supply). Alternatively, it costs Php 2,200 ($43.00) for a bottle of 30 capsules (15 days supply).
If you sign up to the site and join as a distributor you get a 50% discount on all products. You can also find Luxxe Slim on sale from the various Frontrow distributors based in the Philippines.
We saw one distributor selling 30 capsule bottles for PhP2500 ($48.92). Outside the Philippines we found 1x 60ct bottle of Luxxe Slim on sale via Amazon UK for a whopping £51.99. We also found Luxxe Slim on sale on eBay USA, where 1 x 60ct bottle costs $71.00.
Luxxe Slim is a weight loss supplement that contains L Carnitine and Green Tea extract as the sole ingredients. Unlike many other supplements on the market, Luxxe Slim looks very straightforward, and at first glance we can see that this may be an effective combination that is unlikely to cause side effects.
L Carnitine is the principle ingredient. This amino acid which is also present in the body is well known for positive benefits. Your body makes carnitine in the kidneys and liver and stores it in the muscles, heart and brain. L Carnitine helps the body make energy and affects metabolism and muscle development, so is often taken for this reason. However, it is also good for heart health and is often taken for depression and elderly memory loss, so it has a nootropic effect as well.
Green tea is well known for a variety of effects. This natural tea is rich in antioxidants so is of general healthy benefit. Some research suggests that the types of antioxidants called catechins, specifically ECGC (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), are found to have anti-obesity and fat-burning properties.
Luxxe Slim looks pretty good at first glance and, although it is unlikely to have earth shattering effects, judging by the simple ingredients profile, it may provide some support to health and weight loss.
Luxxe Slim comes from Frontrow. This is a network marketing company, sometimes referred to as multi-level marketing, and is based in the Philippines. MLM is a well-known business model that is becoming increasing popular in Asia, but is already operating in thousands of companies across the world.
MLM is available to anyone as a business opportunity. It is run via a network of ordinary people called distributors, and the aim is that they will sell products to their friends and family, i.e. people in their network.
Take 2 capsules daily with 8 to 16 oz of water.
If you like the products, you can sign up as a distributor yourself, paying a fee plus buying products to sell. The downside of MLM is that it can be very hard to make money. You are encouraged to sign up new sellers to add to your downline, and eventually the market becomes saturated.
When the only way you can earn is to join new people rather than selling the product, it crosses over to Pyramid Selling which is illegal.
Take a look at our short video to find out more about MLM and pyramid selling.
Like all MLMs, Frontrow is controversial. Many people have complained about the company, with one woman starting a Facebook page called Frontrow Philippines is a Scam.
As well as Luxxe Slim, Frontrow also market Luxxe White, a skin lightening supplement, and Luxxe Renew, an anti aging supplement.
Although Luxxe Slim is on sale predominantly in the Philippines, often via websites run by Frontrow distributors, you can also find it on sale in the UK and USA, via Amazon and eBay.
Most sellers simply copy the product information on the Frontrow site,
L-Carnitine’s primary role is to help transport fatty acids into the energy producing units in the cells where fat can be converted into energy.
This is a major source of energy for the muscles, including those of the heart. As such, L-Carnitine increases the use of fat as an energy source, therefore giving you not just the stamina, but that shapely and attractive body you’ve been craving for.
We feel it is a massive leap of faith to say that L carnitine will give you a shapely and attractive body!
One Amazon seller outlined the following key features:
This seller also claimed that the supplement was made in the USA, whereas it is actually manufactured in the Philippines.
It may work a bit, but as usual claims in the product advertising are exaggerated and misleading.
This supplement seems underpowered, and although the ingredients are good they are in inadequate quantities.
L Carnitine is an amino acid, a building block of protein, and it is important for health. However, the effects of supplementation have not been fully investigated or proven, and of course clinical studies use specific quantities under certain conditions. These conditions may not be reflected in your daily life.
The optimum serving size for weight loss (and results have been mixed) has yet to be established. The only doses studied in clinical research are for l carnitine deficiency (990mg x 2 a day) and over active thyroid symptoms (1- 2 g per serving).
There is zero evidence that 350mg will be effective for weight loss.
The Green tea content is equally uncertain. This supplement contains 150mg per serving, and although 150mg of catechins has been found to favourably affect cholesterol levels, the tea used in Luxxe Slim will contain other biological substances and not just catechins, so is likely to be inadequate. All clinical tests work with larger quantities than are present here.

Serving size is equal to one capsule.
Luxxe Slim looks pretty safe for most people. However, green tea contains caffeine so may cause slight caffeine side effects such as:
L Carnitine can cause the following effects:
Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor first if you are taking prescription medication or have an underlying medical condition.
We were unable to find any customer reviews for Luxxe Slim.
There is no money-back guarantee for Luxxe Slim. If you buy from a Frontrow distributor you may be able to get a refund if you are dissatisfied and make enough fuss, but this is not the case if you buy from retailers such as eBay or Amazon.
You have several options when it comes to buying Luxxe Slim.
You can buy direct from the Frontrow website in the Philippines, either as a one-off customer or by signing up as a Frontrow distributor. Alternatively, you can buy from a Frontrow distributor. Many of these advertise on Facebook and have their own product websites.
It is also on sale via Amazon and eBay, both in the UK and USA.
In our opinion, Luxxe Slim is a massively overpriced and mediocre supplement. We can’t understand how or why it should be so expensive when it is so basic, but in many cases we find that supplements on sale from MLM companies tend to be pricy. Luxxe Slim is certainly no exception to this general rule.
If you buy 30 capsules it will cost you around $43.00 for just 15 days supply. The only way you can find this on sale cheaper is if you become a distributor yourself, and the big question is: why should you bother? L carnitine supplements and green tea supplements are easily available elsewhere, and if you shop around you will easily be able to find a better deal and get much more for your money.
We like green tea and L carnitine and can see that this combination may support health and weight loss, but not in this supplement. In our opinion, it is too weak to be effective, and far too expensive and complicated to buy. So although it looks relatively safe we would not advise anyone to bother with this supplement.
