Below, we take an in-depth look at MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula to see whether it is an effective weight loss aid, or an expensive waste of time and money.
MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula is one of a few different products offered as a part of the larger MBS 360 System. It is also available on its own, although the official website heavily promotes the entire wellness package. MBS stands for mind body spirit, which hints at the ideology of Dr. Colbert, the doctor who created the range.
Dr Colbert is a doctor and author who specialises in anti-aging medicine, and believes in integrative medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Divine Health Wellness Center in Orlando, Florida, and has published many books about the connection between health, healing and faith. He describes himself as ‘America’s #1 Doctor for Faith and Medicine’. He has made numerous television appearances, and his products are all described as, ‘as seen on public television’. His moderate fame and unique approach appear to be central to the marketing of the MBS 360 system, and the MBS 360 fat burning formula.
As a dietary supplement, adults take one capsule three times daily prior to meals or as directed by your healthcare professional.
The manufacturers of this product can be contacted via the phone number provided on the official website.
The MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula has the following properties according to the sales page on the official website:
Formula contains PURE Green Coffee Bean Extract, Green Tea Extract and a Patented Irvingia Seed Extract.
The patented ingredient in this formula has been shown to:
- Promote body fat loss
- Help control appetite and boost metabolism
The website also states that it contains a ‘Clinically proven weight loss ingredient.
The ingredients used in the MBS360 Fat burning formula are listed below; quantities provided are per single capsule, and consumers can take up to three capsules per day.
The quantities of each ingredient used in this diet pill are fairly unusual. We have seen other diet pills with much higher quantities of green tea extract, with 200 mg or more per single capsule. Drugs.com recommends that in the treatment of obesity and weight loss, ‘ Obesity : Dosage ranges used in trials include 270 to 800 mg/day of epigallocatechin gallate, or 125 to 625 mg/day of catechins.’ Clearly MBS360 fat burning formula has insufficient quantities of green tea extracts to replicate the weight loss results of clinical trials.
There is a high dose of green coffee bean in this diet pill. However, there is no real evidence that green coffee bean aids significant weight loss.
As for African mango, it is thought to be an appetite suppressant, but research tends to have financial biases, as they are often funded by manufacturers of African mango products. They are also small scale studies.
Whilst the manufacturers make no mention of any possible side effects that could occur whilst consuming MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula, a quick look at the ingredients list does suggest that some side effects are possible.
Green coffee bean and green tea can both contain naturally occurring caffeine. Because we do not know the strength or composition of either extract, we have no information about how much caffeine is present, if any.
Caffeine can cause headaches, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate, heart palpitations, increased urination, jitteriness, dehydration and insomnia. Green tea can also cause constipation and an upset stomach in some people, and may reduce the absorption of iron into the bloodstream.
African mango can cause side effects including flatulence, headaches, and sleep problems.
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those aged under 18.
Not suitable for people with anaemia.
Despite the product having been on the market for several years, we could not locate any independent customer reviews for MBS360 Fat Burning Formula, or the MBS360 product range in general.
However, there are some customer testimonials on the official website; these have obviously been selected to portray the product as positively as possible, and so do not represent the full spectrum of honest customer reviews. The reviews are in video form, but also feature some quotes beneath each video review.
I’m not invisible anymore, when I walk in a room people notice. I have more energy and I feel great.
Incorporating his supplements with a good diet just made a world of difference with how I felt everyday.
I would definitely tell any of my friends, co-workers and family about Dr. Colbert’s MBS360™ System who are looking to improve their joint health and wellness.
What is strange about these customer testimonials is that nobody mentions how much weight they have lost, or how their body composition has changed. Even Judy, quoted above, who had clearly lost a significant amount of weight, and who had a starting weight of 400 lbs, focuses more on how she feels than her actual weight loss, or how long it took.
It feels as if the consumers in the testimonial videos have been prompted to say certain things in order to sell the product range as a life altering decision, rather than as a weight loss product.
Looking at the ingredients list, it seems that the MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula will likely not aid significant weight loss.
The main ingredient is present based upon a fraudulent study that has been retracted for having made up results- an older third party review we found of this product discovered that the TV advert for MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula quotes this study as the clinical support to prove the entire product is effective, which is simply misleading to potential customers.
African mango may act as an appetite suppressing ingredient in theory, but there is not much proof from unbiased and reputable clinical trials to support this.
The only ingredient used that has a decent amount of clinical support is green tea extract. However, even though it does increase thermogenesis in the body, the effect is generally considered to be small, and easily counteracted by a poor diet plan.
In addition to this, the quantity used in MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula is incredibly small compared to the quantities used in successful clinical trials. Therefore even this ingredient is unlikely to aid weight loss.
Overall, consumers may lose weight from following advice provided in the numerous health related DVDs and pamphlets that Dr Colbert sells, but they are not going to lose additional weight by using this particular supplement.
There are numerous different purchasing options for this product, although it is available exclusively from the official MBS 360 website.
Three bottles of MBS 360 Fat Burner cost $149.95 plus $9.95 in shipping and handling charges.
A single bottle of the product, along with a copy of Dr Colbert’s “At-Home Wellness Program for Weight Loss” DVD, costs $59.95 plus a shipping charge of $4.95.
Larger packages include other products, including DVDs, memberships to online health trackers, CDs, and a ‘skin and joint formula’.
The website mainly markets the ‘trial offer’ that they have- unlike many other websites that makes trial offers such as this, it is not free, but costs the consumer $29.95 plus $10.95 in shipping and handling costs. Customers who do not cancel the free trial and return the product within 30 days will be charged three ‘easy’ payments of $129.00. Purchasing the product in this way will cost the consumer a total of $427.90. This product includes the following items:
This same package is also available for a much cheaper (but still arguably expensive) upfront cost of $299.95, with free shipping.
The website states that there is a money back guarantee on some products, although on closer inspection this money back guarantee is limited.
The money back guarantee does not apply to the free trial, and so consumers will not get any of the initial cost back when they send the free trial back. Customers can only return unopened bottles, and the returns period is limited to 30 days. Shipping and handling fees are not covered under the returns policy.
It is clear from the ingredients list that MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula will not aid weight loss. Even without considering other factors, this is enough to reject this diet pill.
The product is also expensive and customers are unable to purchase a single bottle of the product without any other products such as DVDs. The website is somewhat misleading, as it promotes Green Coffee Bean as an excellent fat burner, despite recent evidence suggesting otherwise.
There are no independent customer reviews, and even the testimonials on the official website fail to comment on this product in particular, instead talking about the importance of the Mind Body Spirit philosophy that Dr Colbert, the creator of the product, follows.
The money back guarantee is not a guarantee at all- it is a very selectively phrased returns policy, with some products not being covered at all. The MBS 360 Fat Burning Formula is also a part of a larger product, the MBS 360 System, which is incredibly expensive. Customers who opt to try the trial of this system are initially charged for the trial, and if they like the products are charged much more in the long run that it would cost them to just buy the product outright.
Overall, it is clear that we cannot recommend this product, with no exceptions.
