MealEnders is a USA company based in San Francisco. It features just one product which was featured on Shark Tank back in 2017 (season 8 episode 19). Although CEO Mark Bernstein failed to win investment, MealEnders seems to be creating a stir in the fitness market without the TV show’s intervention.
MealEnders is a type of candy which is available in 4 flavours: Mocha, Citrus, Cinnamon, and Chocolate Milk. The idea is that you eat one of these after your meal or when you feel like snacking, and thanks to the chewy consistency and interesting flavour combination, your urge to eat more will have gone, once you have finished the sweet. This is a simple idea that some users say could apply to just about anything, but with willpower playing such a major role in weight loss; it looks pretty good to us. MealEnders will not help everyone but if you like this product and find that it suits you, it will probably help you lose some weight.
Side effects should not be an issue, although some people have mentioned a sensation of numbness on the tongue.
MealEnders is quite expensive. Buy from the official website and it costs $16.95 for 25 servings.
You can make savings on larger orders. A 3 pack bundle (75 servings) costs $34.95. Buy a 9 pack bundle (225 servings) and it costs $89.95. Shipping and handling are an extra $3.99 per order. You choose your flavour at the point of sale.
You are encouraged to sign up for auto delivery. Auto-ship is where you agree to have regular orders delivered each month and your bank or credit card charged automatically. In our experience, auto-ship agreements can often be tricky to cancel so we don’t advise it. In addition, the only discounts you obtain from doing this is free shipping so it hardly seems worth it.
You can also buy MealEnders from MealEnders via Amazon where it costs $16.95 for 25 servings.
When we were asked to review MealEnders we thought it was nothing but a gimmick. After looking into it we still think it is a gimmick, but we do believe it is a gimmick that can work for some people. Training your body to take a break after eating so that your fullness levels can be registered by your brain will help weight loss, and it seems that MealEnders can help you achieve this without too much willpower. And as one customer said, “maybe someone with self-control could get the same benefit from a piece of hard candy or a Hershey’s kiss but if I had any self-control, I wouldn’t be overweight”.
Losing weight successfully does require the right mindset in order to make healthy choices and resist the urge to overeat. In our opinion, MealEnders will help some people achieve this so it could be a good choice if you use it as a tool to help support a diet or are just trying to cut down on your calorie intake. We can’t recommend it for everyone but if you struggle with knowing when to stop eating, MealEnders might just be worth a try.

MealEnders is a weight loss lozenge that you suck at the end of a meal in order to prevent overeating. The idea is that doing this will help you learn healthy portion control and give your brain enough time to register that you are no longer hungry.
The lozenges come in a choice of four flavours: Mocha, Citrus, Cinnamon, and Chocolate Milk. The proprietary blend Actissert is stimulant free, and there are no added weight loss ingredients or anything that will make your body start burning fat, blocking carbs, or see you rushing to the bathroom. Instead, the lozenges contain a blend of complex flavours and textures that stimulate nerve endings and taste buds, keeping your mind occupied for around 20 minutes. The product information describes this as the Duo Sensory Taste System. Check out the ingredients tab to find out more.
According to the product information, and as we all know from experience, it is easy to overeat and go for more food or second helpings at the end of the meal. The theory is that sucking a MealEnders lozenge will enable your body to have enough time to register fullness and because it is sweet, your mind will associate it with dessert. As the product information explains,
“MealEnders utilize both physical and psychological cues to help you avoid over eating and master portion control.”
MealEnders was devised by CEO Mark Bernstein described as an entrepreneur. According to his “about us” information on the website, he struggled with his weight as he got older and found it impossible to resist that second plate of spaghetti or stop at just one cookie. We’ve all been there!
After being diagnosed with some health problems and advised to lose weight, he looked into weight loss supplements and specifically something to help prevent overeating. He partnered with a food development firm and MealEnders was launched in 2017.
The company seems popular on Facebook with 45000 followers, and although it is not mentioned on the official website, Mark Bernstein and MealEnders were contestants in Shark Tank 2017 (season 8 episode 19), however the company failed to get investment. [Source]
MealEnders is based in San Francisco, and the address is 38 Keyes Ave, Suite 116, San Francisco, CA 94129.
You can contact the company by phone or email. 415-805-1518.
According to the product information,
“MealEnders are taste-bud scintillating 15-calorie lozenges that help you beat overeating, master portion control and curb snacking. They’re a tasty treat you can take anywhere, anytime to help satisfy and end cravings.”
The lozenges are, “based on behavioral psychology and sensory science and reward and reset your taste buds with two components:”
The texture and taste is explained;
“Sweet Outer Reward Layer: provides a measured dose of “dessert,” a signal typically associated with the end of a meal.”
“Cooling/Tingling Center: engages the trigeminal nerve to clear the palate, cue the end of eating, and train your mind to recognize when it’s time to stop.”
According to the product information, there are four stages of eating and if you take a MeaEnder between stage 3 and 4 you will not overeat.
We think that MealEnders will work for some people. As the product advertising says, there is a time delay between eating and feeling full of about 20 minutes, and bridging this gap with a MealEnder could be effective.
Eating until you are fit to burst is a bad habit. If you can manage to stop before you overeat, you will find you lose weight and taking a MealEnder may help you achieve this.
Some users have mentioned that the minty finish is a similar sensation to toothpaste. Others have mentioned the interesting texture and seem to enjoy the flavours. In truth, it does not really matter what the lozenge does contain as long as it provides a time delay and is not so delicious that you will feel tempted to eat a whole packet of them!
This is not a weight loss supplement that will make you lose fat, in fact, it is just a confectionary blend. It is not a complicated diet plan or extreme weight loss method like the Keto Diet. But in our opinion, MealEnders will work for some people, especially those who always go for second helpings or extras after a meal or struggle with snacking.
Each Lozenge contains 2g of sugar and 15 calories.
It features two components that the company call the Duo Sensory Taste System.
The outer Reward Layer is made from ordinary confectionary ingredients.
The inner Active-Taste layer relies upon MealEnders’ proprietary blend of natural and artificial food flavors called the Actissert™ Blend.
Side effects should not be an issue, although some people have mentioned a sensation of numbness on the tongue.
Caution:
No particular concerns but should not be used by individuals under 18 or persons with a sensitivity to sugar.
There is a lot of customer feedback for MealEnders and opinion is divided. Some people are satisfied and feel that these sweets do help weight loss and appetite control.
Yes, maybe someone with self control could get the same benefit from a piece of hard candy or a Hershey’s kiss but if I had any self control, I wouldn’t be overweight. So far I have tried the mocha flavor and I find that I really enjoy the taste of the mocha outside layer and I am not deterred by the hard inner layer that tingles and makes my tongue slightly numb. While I may eat the entire bag in one sitting of the hard candy or Hershey’s kisses, I don’t think I would ever eat more than one of these in a row….
These work! I really need a sweet after eating and this helps me from overeating or eating something sweet. I will purchase again.
I was very sceptical when I seen this item on shark tank. I’m a snacker after dinner and even get up in the middle of the night for a bite of something sweet. This has ended my late night bingeing, allowing me to lose 5 pounds so far. I have only used it a month. I like the cinnamon flavor. …. I love this product! However, people eat for different reasons, but it’s worth a try!
Other reviewers do not share this opinion,
I had high hopes for these but for me it is no different than eating a jr mint. Just a tingly center. It is all in your head, if you can convince your mind you are done eating they will work. Just not worth the $ to me. They do taste good.
Didn’t curb appetite or cravings at all. If you do anything enough times after you finish eating and force yourself to not eat more past that specific event, before long it becomes habit and your body adjusts. You’re better off drinking a glass of water to signal the event versus eating one of these
They don’t take away the urge to eat. They numb your tongue for s few minutes. Would not buy again.
