What You Need To Know About NutriDrip NutriSkinny

NutriDrip NutriSkinny is a weight loss supplement that is administered as an IV Drip. It is only available within New York City, and is incredibly expensive at $199.00 per IV bag. It is one of a large range of IV drips that are offered by NutriDrip.

What Are The Side Effects Of NutriDrip NutriSkinny?

Because the ingredient quantities are unknown, it is not possible to estimate the likelihood of any side effects occurring.

Injections can be unpleasant, especially if you have a phobia of them. Bruising at the site of the IV injection is possible, and people who bruise easily in general are more likely to have a noticeable bruise.

L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a “fishy” odour.

For a more detailed list of the various unpleasant side effects that can be caused by the ingredients found in NutriDrip NutriSkinny, click on the Side Effects tab below.

How Much Does NutriDrip NutriSkinny Cost?

Each NutriSkinny IV bag costs $199.00. Customers are encouraged to add a CoQ10 NutriBooster shot to this, which costs an additional $39.20.

There are also two bulk buy offers: a 5-pack of NutriSkinny which costs $895.50, or a 10-pack of NutriSkinny, which costs $1592.00.

Obviously this is an incredibly expensive product, especially considering that this is per bag! Having said that, this does include the cost of hiring a qualified nurse to administer the IV, something that you’d obviously not want to take on yourself!

Our Verdict On NutriDrip NutriSkinny

Overall, we are not impressed by NutriDrip NutriSkinny at all. The ingredients do not have much clinical support to suggest that they would aid weight loss, and the product is incredibly expensive, costing $199.00 per IV bag. Considering that NutriDrip recommend that you have two IV bags per week while you are trying to lose weight, this is an incredibly expensive product. L-Carnitine is highly absorbable anyway when taken as an oral supplement, and is incredibly cheap typically as well. It could easily be argued that these ingredients do not need to be injected for best results.

The combination of Methionine, Inositol and Choline, together known as MIC, does appear to support the breakdown of fat in the liver, but it does not appear to directly impact weight loss. You need to be following a calorie restricted diet in order for this product to offer any benefits.

Obviously, if you are not keen on needles, or are afraid of them, then this product is definitely not for you. IV bags can cause bruising in some people, especially if you bruise easily in general.

NutriDrip products are only available within New York City, and so it is neither practical nor accessible for the majority of people.

Overall, we do not recommend NutriDrip NutriSkinny to our readers.

NutriDrip NutriSkinny Review

NutriDrip NutriSkinny is a weight loss supplement that is administered as an IV Drip. The manufacturers claim that the formula contains ingredients that will break down and “eliminate fat deposits”. They describe NutriSkinny as a “lipotropic cocktail with fat mobilizing amino acids that will enhance liver function and remove toxins and fat cells in your body”.

NutriDrip NutriSkinny Facts

  • Manufactured by NutriDrip
  • Treatment takes 30 minutes to an hour
  • Only available within New York City

NutriSkinny is sold and administered by NutriDrip, and is only available within New York City. It is one of a large range of IV drips that are offered by NutriDrip, who state that they are on a mission “to empower the human body”. The company can be contacted using the information provided on their official website.

How to Take NutriDrip NutriSkinny

As NutriDrip products are literally IV drip infusions, you do not have to do anything yourself. You can either go to one of their locations, or if you live New York City, you can arrange for a nurse to come and administer the drip in the comfort of your own home.

The procedure is described as follows on the NutriDrip website.

  • 1. Select Your NutriDrip: Pick the NutriDrip best suited to your needs.
  • 2. Schedule your appointment. Select location and Time. Choose between In-home Service and one of the company’s locations.
  • 3. Quick Medical Consult. After a quick health consult, a “licensed medical provider” will review your medical history and vitals.
  • 4. Enjoy your NutriDrip. The infusion process takes 30-60 minutes depending on the package you choose. Begin feeling refreshed and revitalized immediately.

NutriDrip NutriSkinny Concerns:

  • Incredibly expensive
  • No money back guarantee
  • Ingredients do not directly cause weight loss

What Does NutriDrip NutriSkinny Claim To Do?

The manufacturers of NutriSkinny describe the product and its benefits as follows:

“NutriSKINNY is the ultimate weight loss and fat burning enhancement to your diet. Kick start your weight loss with this lipotropic cocktail with fat mobilizing amino acids that will enhance liver function and remove toxins and fat cells in your body.

NutriSKINNY is infused with MIC, an essential amino acid which assists in the breakdown of fats, helps prevent the build-up of fat in arteries and assists the digestive system. There are 3 important ingredients in MIC:

Methionine – An essential amino acid that must be consumed through supplement (or 100% bioavailability IV infusion) that assists with breaking down fat cells within the liver, is helpful in preventing and relieving fatigue, and eliminates fat deposits. Methionine also improves skin tone and elasticity, nails, hair, and cardiovascular and muscular functions, through its role in the production of creatine.

Inositol – A b-vitamin used for breaking down fats, promoting the health of cell structures, reduces blood cholesterol and controls mood and appetite. Inositol is also helpful in treating depression, panic disorder and fatty liver, and is most effective through intravenous infusion.

Choline – An essential nutrient that supports the liver in processing and excretion of chemical waste. Choline also supports the metabolism of fats and cholesterol.”

Does NutriDrip NutriSkinny Work?

The manufacturers of NutriSkinny make some misleading comments about the ingredients, that make it seem more effective than it actually is. Methionine is an essential amino acid, but they claim that it “must be consumed through supplement”; methionine is naturally occurring in a range of foods, including meat products, and does not need to be artificially supplemented outside of your diet. It also does not “eliminate fat deposits”, despite what NutriDrip claim.

Methionine, choline, and inositol have been combined in the past to protect liver health by helping it to more efficiently metabolize lipids; but this does not necessarily mean that it will promote weight loss. MIC does not directly attack fat cells throughout the body, it just helps the liver to process fat cells that have already been broken down by the body. This means that you will not lose weight by taking this product alone; it can help to support your liver’s fat processing ability once you are already losing weight by following a calorie deficient meal plan.

Carnitine is advertised as a fat burner, but this is an example of retailers completely misrepresenting the available clinical evidence; carnitine can burn fat, but studies suggest that this takes place predominantly in elderly people, and not the rest of the population.

Overall, we find it unlikely that NutriSkinny will aid weight loss.

What Are The Ingredients of NutriDrip NutriSkinny?

The ingredients found in NutriDrip NutriSkinny are detailed below. No ingredient quantities are provided.

  • Methionine: This amino acid is mainly used to alleviate liver damage during incidents of poisoning. Source
  • Inositol: Used to treat insulin resistance. Some studies have noted some weight loss in participants, although results are somewhat inconsistent, and occurred when high doses of several grams were administered per day. Source
  • Choline: Choline supplementation appears to improve attention, and could improve memory. Choline is required to make increased levels of acetylcholine in the brain, a neurotransmitter which is linked with improved learning, memory retention and recall. It has likely been put into this product due to its reported role in metabolizing lipids (fats) in the liver. Source
  • Taurine: Often used in energy drinks, some studies suggest that this amino acid may play a role in athletic performance. Source
  • L-Carnitine: There is some evidence that supplementation of acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. The ingredient also boosts energy levels, and is used to treat fatigue. Source
  • B-Complex: A blend of different B vitamins in unknown quantities.
  • Pyridoxine: More commonly known as vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is very important for normal psychological functioning and for the nervous system, although supplementation normally only helps those suffering with a deficiency. Source
  • MTE-5: MTE-5 is short for Multitrace-5. It is a mineral supplement that is injected through IV. It contains chromic chloride hexahydrate, copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, selenium, and zinc sulfate. Source

Does NutriDrip NutriSkinny Have Any Side Effects?

Because the ingredient quantities are unknown, it is not possible to estimate the likelihood of any side effects occurring.

Injections can be unpleasant, especially if you have a phobia of them. Bruising at the site of the IV injection is possible, and people who bruise easily in general are more likely to have a noticeable bruise.

L-Carnitine can cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, and seizures. It can also cause the urine, breath, and sweat to have a “fishy” odour.

The ingredients list refers to a B-complex, which presumably refers to a variety of B Vitamins. It also mentions pyridoxine, which is vitamin B6. These are provided in unknown quantities. Taking large amounts of vitamins (well over the RDA) can cause side effects. Vitamin B5 seems to be safe for most people, but taking larger amounts increases the chance of having side effects such as diarrhoea. High doses of vitamin B6 supplements can cause nerve damage if taken long term, skin rashes, sensitivity to sunlight, and nausea. Niacin can cause flushing, upset stomach, and diarrhoea, although all of these side effects tend to fade over time.

One online retailer who sells a MIC injections (the methionine, inositol, and choline blend used in Nutriskinny) provided the following information about the potential side effects of MIC injections. Please note that none of these warnings are present or discussed on the NutriDrip website at all!

“Potential side effects include stomach upset and urinary problems due to the strain the injections place on the kidneys. Depression is another possible side effect. Some patients are unable to control their urine, and/or have diarrhoea. Finally, some patients reported an unpleasant odour. Lipotropic injections change the function of the digestive system temporarily. This can result in extreme exhaustion, since the body is not used to working at this level and condition. Unexplained pain in unrelated parts of the body is another potential side effect. Patients have complained of pain in the neck and parts of the hand. How these injections cause these pains is not clear. Some patients have also experienced joint pains and allergic reactions to the injections. Call your healthcare provider immediately if you are experiencing any signs of an allergic reaction: wheezing; chest tightness; fever; itching; bad cough; blue skin colour; fits; or swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; also if you experience severe behavioural problems, chest pain or pressure or fast heartbeat, severe dizziness or passing out, nervousness and excitability, or severe headache.”

Caution:
Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. People with known medical conditions or who are taking any medications need to consult a licensed physician prior to taking. NutriDrip perform a medical assessment before you can receive their products; be honest and complete with your medical history so that they can give you the best care possible.

I feel great. The nurses are awesome. The atmosphere is very relaxing.

Loved it! It’s a must. Such a cute place and I will be going back soon

Super clean and friendly staff. I only do their glutathione drip and I love it.

I thought the space was really cool and the service was great. Super friendly and knowledge but I paid extra for Beauty Glow which they said should last one week and haven’t really noticed a difference being three days in.

Does NutriDrip NutriSkinny Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

There is no money back guarantee on this product. There is also seemingly no returns policy at all, presumably because the product is administered straight away when you buy it.

Okay, this is a really really odd product choice. There hasn’t been nearly enough research into this technique to recommend it, especially not for weight loss. I’d be worried about side effects, not to mention the stress of the whole thing.
