Ortte Skinny Tea is a weight loss tea program that you use over a 28 day period. It includes two different types of tea bags; the Daytime tea to be drunk in the morning, and the Evening Tea which you drink before bedtime. Ortte Skinny Tea claims to increase your metabolism, improve health and well being with vitamins and nutrients, and generally help health and weight loss.
Pros
Cons
Ortte Skinny Tea is a 28-day detox plan that requires you to drink a Morning tea brew and a Night time tea brew before bedtime. According to the advertising, doing this will provide numerous health benefits and weight loss but it looks like its crammed full of laxatives and diuretics to us. Let’s take a look and find out more.
The company behind this supplement is sometimes called Ortte Scandinavian, which sounds as if it should be based in Scandinavia but seems to be located at a business centre in Croydon. According to the live chat facility, Ortte is a British company with offices in many parts of the world including India, Australia, and Spain. Ortte Skinny Tea is manufactured in China.
Ortte Scandinavian Skinny Tea is a two-part tea program that you take over 28 days. The Morning Tea comprises of 28 teabags and the Evening Tea only 14, so the idea is that you take the Morning Tea every day and the Evening Tea every other evening before bedtime.
Although Ortte Tea is described as a slimming tea program rather than a detox, this tea program does contain laxatives and a diuretic so don’t be fooled into thinking that this is somehow different to every other teatox on the market. It contains a blend of mainly Chinese herbs and with three laxatives in the evening blend, you probably will be spending an increased amount of time in your bathroom.
Ortte Tea comes from a British company called Comfort Click based in Croydon, so don’t be misled by the Ortte Scandinavian brand name. The supplement was manufactured in China but is on sale in many countries across the world mainly via Amazon.
There may be side effects for some users. These may include diarrhoea, upset stomach, stomach pains nausea, and dehydration.
Some people take Lotus Leaf for relaxation so it may have a mild sedative effect, although research is inconclusive about this ingredient and whether there are any other health risks.
Some people are allergic to Buckwheat so if you experience abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, swelling, or difficulty in breathing, you should seek medical advice immediately. Buckwheat is not so commonly available in some countries including the UK, so it is possible to have an allergy without being aware of it. If you experience a reaction, don’t forget to take the ingredients list with you to the hospital.
Considering the tea package contains just 42 teabags, Skinny Tea is very expensive. If you buy from Amazon UK, it costs £24.95 plus 99p delivery to UK addresses.
Prices are comparable on the other Amazon sites.

The Morning Tea contains a blend of ingredients including green tea and lotus leaf, lime leaf, and Goji berry. It also contains dandelion and overall, it looks to be a diuretic in that it will make you pee more frequently.
The Evening Tea contains laxatives including Senna and Psyllium husk, along with some Chinese style ingredients such as mulberry also a laxative, plus rosehip and Lotus Leaf. Check out the ingredients tab to find out more.
Although Ortte Skinny Tea is not described as a detox tea, it does look to be a typical detox tea program like so many we have covered on the Watchdog website. Detox teas always contain ingredients to increase urination, as well as cause a laxative effect. The idea is that this cleanses your body and makes you thinner. Probably the best known British detox tea brand is Bootea, but there are literally thousands of teatox supplements on the market, although the craze does seem to have slightly died down in recent months. To find out more, check out our article which was published at the height of the craze. Source
Strangely Ortte does market a Detox tea (Ortte Detox Tea) which claims to be free from laxatives, which is odd when you consider that Skinny Tea does contain laxatives yet is not aimed at the detox market!
Ortte Scandinavian is a British company based in Croydon, so it is hard to see what Scandinavia has to do with this company! There is an official website and according to this, Ortte has offices in many countries including Australia, Denmark, Spain, and India. However, we were told by customer services that the brand was manufactured in China.
We did some delving and found that Ortte Scandinavia is a brand name from a company called Comfort Click, who seems to specialise in beauty products and personal care and have won awards for business in Gujarat, as well as something called the Herbal retailer award. The listed address is Comfort Click Ltd, 106 Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon, CR0 6AD.
You can contact Ortte via the live chat service on the official website. We found the customer service to be very helpful and prompt in answering our questions.
According to the advertising on Amazon, Ortte Skinny Tea has the following benefits:
The Daytime Tea looks appealing. We like many of the ingredients, and feel that the combination of green tea and lime leaves will probably taste good. Buckwheat has many health benefits as well as protein, so you may find that the tea does fill you up in the morning. In addition, it does contain natural vitamins and antioxidants. Because this tea blend contains dandelion, it will probably increase urination so you will need to ensure you drink plenty of water to avoid the risk of dehydration.
We are not as keen on the Evening Tea. This does contain a blend of different types of laxative including Senna, which will probably have a laxative effect. You should not take Senna for more than 7 consecutive days so although the amount contained here may be low, we can only go on medical advice.
We don’t think that Ortte Skinny Tea will work as described and although there may be some benefits to some of the components, the drawbacks outweigh them. There is no reason to increase urination and take laxatives because doing this is not good for general health or for long term weight loss.

Serving size is equal to one tea bag. Ingredient quantities are not provided beyond the percentage of each one compared to the other. This is not very helpful when we do not have a starting point of a real figure.

There may be side effects for some users. These may include:
Some people take Lotus Leaf for relaxation, so it may have a mild sedative effect.
Some people are allergic to Buckwheat so if you experience abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, swelling, or difficulty in breathing, you should seek medical advice immediately. Buckwheat is not so commonly available in countries like the UK, so it is possible to have an allergy without being aware of it.
Caution: Not suitable for individuals under 18. Avoid if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not drink this tea if you suffer from allergies. Skinny Tea contains Buckwheat, so may cause some individuals to experience an allergic reaction. Speak to your doctor before use if you have an underlying medical condition, or are taking prescription medication.
There do not appear to be any independent customer reviews available.
There is no money-back guarantee.
The easiest way to buy Ortte Skinny Tea is via Amazon. It is on sale via Amazon UK, as well as the various Amazon sites across Europe.
We are not overly impressed by Ortte Skinny Tea. Although the Daytime Tea sounds quite appealing, we have concerns that the overall tea package may cause adverse side effects. In addition, we are concerned that it is manufactured in China so may not conform to safe manufacturing standards.
Other concerns include the lack of ingredients information, the lack of a money-back guarantee and the lack of customer feedback. We are not very impressed by a Croydon based company selling a Chinese supplement, and then calling themselves Scandinavian. This seems a little tricksy to us, and deliberately intended to create a misleading impression about the origins of this supplement.
We don’t really trust Ortte Skinny Tea, so we do not recommend it to the Watchdog readers.
