Protein World Vegan Blend Overview

What You Need To Know About Protein World Vegan Blend

Protein World Vegan Blend is a protein powder that has been designed with vegan customers in mind. Rather than sourcing protein from Whey powder or other milk products, the protein in this shake powder comes from a blend of pea, hemp and quinoa proteins. The product also features digestive enzymes to aid digestion, as well as caffeine and green tea to help to boost calorie burn and aid weight loss. The product is also soy-free, lactose-free, gluten-free, kosher, and halal.

What Are The Side Effects Of Protein World Vegan Blend?

Protein Shakes generally do not cause many side effects. Too much protein can cause digestive side effects such as diarrhoea or constipation.

The amount of caffeine found in Protein World Vegan Blend is small; just 24 mg per serving, but in combination with other sources of caffeine (tea, coffee, and energy drinks), it could cause side effects. Side effects of caffeine can include headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia. Green tea can also cause constipation.

How Much Does Protein World Vegan Blend Cost?

Protein World Vegan Blend can be purchased from the official Protein World website. A small tub containing 400 grams costs £18.99, and a large tub containing 1.2 kg of the protein powder costs £31.99. Delivery charges may also apply.

The product is also available to purchase from several third-party retailers. A 400 gram jar contains 10 servings, a 600 gram jar contains 15 servings, and a large 1.2 kg jar contains 30 servings.

Our Verdict On Protein World Vegan Blend

Protein World Vegan Blend appears to be a relatively good option for consumers who want a protein shake suitable for vegans, provided that they like the taste and texture. Many people have posted negative reviews of the supplement, calling its taste vile and undrinkable, but there are others who feel that it is one of the better tasting vegan protein shakes available.

Protein World has received a lot of negative attention due to their questionable ad campaigns, potentially mislabelled products, and repeated run-ins with the Advertising Standards Agency over the accuracy of their product descriptions. Although they have rebranded as more body-positive, they have been forced to change the descriptions of some supplements as recently as March 2018; Protein World does not seem to be the most reputable brand.

There is no money-back guarantee, and customers have 14 days from the date of delivery to returns unwanted goods (provided that they are unopened).

Overall, we do not recommend Protein World Vegan Blend to our readers.

Does Protein World Vegan Blend Work?

Protein World Vegan Blend is a shake that is high in protein, with a relatively low fat and carb content. With each shake containing 182 calories (plus additional calories depending upon what it is mixed with), it could definitely aid weight loss if used as a meal replacement shake. It contains a variety of vitamins and minerals, and so consumers are unlikely to develop nutritional deficiencies if using this supplement as a meal replacement shake.

Each shake contains 3 grams of fibre; fibre helps the consumer to feel full, and so ideally we would like to see a slightly higher fibre content in a meal replacement shake. Beyond this, it seems to be a good protein shake option for vegans.

Protein World Thermogenic Blend

  • Guarana Extract (22% caffeine) 100mg: A berry that is naturally high in caffeine, it is often an ingredient in energy drinks and diet pills. Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive. Source
  • Green Tea extract (40% polyphenols)] 100mg: Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins, especially EGCG, increase thermogenesis in the body, whilst caffeine increases energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism slightly for few hours. Source

  • Bifidobacterium Bifidum 1Billion CFUs: B. bifidum has been linked with a range of beneficial effects, most prominently in the immune and digestive systems. It appears to have a range of miscellaneous benefits as well, including an ability to improve alcohol-damaged-liver injury and to treat diarrhoea. Source
  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus 1Billion CFUs: The most commonly used probiotic in supplements, L. acidophilus creates an unfriendly environment for “bad” bacteria when it breaks down. Supplementing is often thought to be an all-purpose way of restoring the healthy balance of bacteria in the gut. Source

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Protein World Vegan Blend?

There are some customer reviews for Protein World Vegan Blend; as the product has been reformulated it is possible that some of the customer reviews are for the older formulation. On the Protein World website the product is rated at five stars, but on Amazon, the average rating is just 1.6 stars out of five.

As vegan protein shakes go, this is a really good one! Vegan protein shakes aren’t the nicest, but then again neither are any protein shakes!! But we don’t drink them for their taste! I love the ingredients in this blend. I made with water, ice and blueberries and it was easy to drink.

Do not buy!! I am so disappointed with this purchase, I have used slender blend for the past 8 months and after very recently becoming vegan I became very excited to buy this product. I have tried the shake today and the texture is watery, grainy and leaves a horrific taste in your mouth. I now have 1.2kg of protein and a wasted £32. The original slender blend shakes are amazing however this is absolutely appalling.

This stuff is so so vile. It tastes like some kind of dry green bean powder mixed with off vanilla, it’s gritty no matter how much you shake or blend and honestly I’m used to vegan substitutes tasting a bit off but this is unbelievably bad. So disappointed. I’ve tried mixing it with other things to avoid the flavour but nothing works.

Does Protein World Vegan Blend Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Protein World claims that they offer a money-back guarantee, but clarify that it only applies to unopened products. This is, therefore, not actually a money-back guarantee.

Customers may return products within 14 days of receiving them (although the company confusingly mentions several different returns periods within the same paragraph, ranging from 14 to 28 days). In any case, customers are unable to claim a refund if the package is opened. To arrange a refund on an unopened package, customers must email the company to receive a returns form and must cover the costs of returning it themselves.
