Sometimes it can be difficult to sort out the ingredients that have a reputation as a weight loss supplement, and the ingredients that actually have clinical support to prove this, especially with diet pill companies all claiming that they use the most effective ingredients. The manufacturers of Skinny Fiber have made some dramatic claims about its ingredients, so we decided to see which category they fell into.

Below we take an in-depth look at Skinny Fiber, to see whether or not it can aid weight loss by suppressing the consumer’s appetite and supporting the metabolism.

    Skinny Fiber Pros

    • Glucomannan has some clinical support

    Skinny Fiber Cons

    • Majority of ingredients have no clinical support
    • Lots of reports of side effects
    • Expensive supplement

What You Need To Know About Skinny Fiber

Skinny Fiber is an appetite suppressing weight loss aid that also supports the metabolism, according to its manufacturers. The manufacturing company operate as a multi-level marketing company, and we have concerns about the company’s customer service, as they have an ‘F’ rating on the Better Business Bureau.

What Are The Side Effects Of Skinny Fiber?

There are numerous reports of unpleasant and even serious side effects from customer reviews. Side effects appear to include trapped gas, increased bowel movements, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, bloating, vomiting, constipation, nausea, and acid reflux.

We also found one report of a woman who had a blocked colon, who had to be prescribed laxatives and ultimately have a colonoscopy, and another report of a woman who had developed polyps after taking this supplement.

How Much Does Skinny Fiber Cost?

Depending upon where Skinny Fiber is purchased from, the supplement can be very expensive. When ordering through the official website, a single bottle costs $59.95, plus delivery charges. Each bottle contains 120 capsules; consumers are instructed to take two capsules before each meal.

If taking the product before two meals per day (four capsules per day), a single bottle would last for 30 days, but if consumers are taking the supplement before three meals a day (six capsules per day), a single bottle would last for as little as 20 days. There are discounts available on bulk purchases.

    Our Verdict On Skinny Fiber

We are not impressed by Skinny Fiber at all! The product is incredibly expensive when purchased directly from the manufacturers or from a distributer. There are some concerns from some distributers that amazon sellers are actually selling fake versions of Skinny Fiber, and not the authentic product, but we were unable to verify these claims.

Glucomannan does have clinical support for its use as an appetite suppressant, but it appears that the amounts used in Skinny Fiber are less than the amounts used in successful clinical trials. There is far less clinical support for Caralluma Fimbriata, and no clinical support at all for the use of Cha De Bugre as a weight loss supplement. The use of digestive enzymes could aid digestion, but they are not necessary.

We found lots of reports of side effects, which were mostly digestive and temporary, but some people did report more serious side effects that required medical attention, such as a blocked colon.

We dislike the Multi-Level Marketing Model that the company operate on. MLM companies often focus more on recruiting new distributers over actually selling the company’s product range, and this seems to be the case, at least on the official website. We advise our readers to not sign up to become a distributer for any Multi-Level Marketing company, especially if signing up involves a sign-up fee or the need to purchase a ‘starter pack’.

Glucomannan may be a good option for some people who want to reduce the hunger they feel when trying to eat a lower calorie diet. However, it is available at many health stores at a fraction of the cost of Skinny Fiber, without the addition of numerous other ingredients that have little or no clinical support.

Overall, we do not recommend Skinny Fiber to our readers.

    Skinny Fiber Review

Skinny Fiber is an appetite suppressing weight loss aid that also supports the metabolism, according to its manufacturers. It contains glucomannan, a fiber that absorbs water and expands in the stomach, making the consumer fell fuller, quicker, and helping them to eat less overall. Because glucomannan affects the stomach, and is not a chemical appetite suppressant, it can only support dieting efforts, and will not affect emotional eating. Whilst the product is caffeine free, it does contain Cha De Bugre, which is a stimulant ingredient.

    Skinny Fiber Facts

    • Manufactured by Skinny Body Care
    • 120 capsules per bottle
    • Manufacturer operates as a Multi-Level Marketing Company

The most prominent information given on the Skinny Fiber website seems more concerned with finding new distributors to sell this diet pill, rather than any sound advice about how to use it and what it actually contains.

The company appears to operate as a Multi-Level Marketing company, with distributers receiving commission on their own sales, bonuses for recruiting new distributers, and commissions and bonuses based upon the sales of the distributers in your ‘downline’, i.e. the people you have also recruited to be distributers. Again, on the page explaining how distributers can make money with Skinny Body Care and their products, the enroller bonuses are mentioned before commissions on general sales.

    How to Take Skinny Fiber

Directions for use are as follows: Take this product (2 capsules) with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other fluid, 30 minutes before meals. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking.

The Skinny Fiber website is mostly restricted to the casual visitor, with product prices and many of the pages being hidden unless you sign in. This can be awkward, and we dislike the fact that prices are initially hidden.

When you attempt to buy Skinny Fiber direct from the product site, skinnybodycare.com, the website requires you to enter the name of “the distributor who referred you”. Even attempting to register with the site and become a site member takes you back to entering the name of your distributor. The prices are not visible until you enter the name of a distributer; we were able to access the full website by going to a third party website set up by a distributer and clicking on the buy now button, which led us back to the official website, but now signed in with full access to pricing.

    Skinny Fiber Concerns:

    • Manufacturer has poor reputation – F on Better Business Bureau
    • Expensive supplement
    • Majority of ingredients lacking clinical support

Skinny Fiber has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website, the lowest possible score. They have ignored multiple complaints on the BBB website, and the only complaint that they did address was not dealt with to the customer’s satisfaction.

Skinny Fiber is one of numerous weight loss products manufactured by a company called Skinny Body Care. The manufacturers of Skinny Fiber are based at 423 Bussen Underground Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63129. Their contact information is available on their official website, but consumers may be encouraged to contact their distributer first, and only seeking help from the company directly if the distributer is unable to help.

What Does Skinny Fiber Claim To Do?

The manufacturers of Skinny Fiber claim that the supplement has the following benefits:

    • All Natural Weight Management
    • Supports Normal Detoxification Processes
    • Support Healthy Digestion
    • Provides Antioxidant Support
    • Digestive Enzymes

They also go through the main ingredients of the supplement, detailing their supposed benefits, but not citing any studies or sources:

What if you could eliminate the #1 enemy of weight management…overeating? With all natural Glucomannan, it just got easier! Glucomannan is a unique all natural soluble dietary fiber believed to expand in your stomach to help make you feel full and eat less!

    Caralluma Fimbriata
Known as the Natural Appetite Suppressant, Caralluma has been used for centuries in countries around the world to help manage appetite and eat less. In fact, some call it “famine food” for its incredible ability to suppress hunger and appetite and enhance stamina.

    Cha De Bugre
Known as “The best kept Brazilian Secret,” Chá de Bugre is not as commonly known as many other ingredients, but is just as powerful. Believed to help suppress appetite, Cha de Bugre has many other benefits as well. In fact, many people use it to help reduce cellulite, increase overall health, and even gently stimulate healthy metabolism…a key for healthy weight management!

    Does Skinny Fiber Work?

The clinical research for Glucomannan is very promising, suggesting that it is an effective appetite suppressant, but all of the available studies suggest that the optimum dose for maximum weight loss is 3000 mg per day, spread out over several doses. It appears that the dose of Glucomannan in Skinny Fiber is lower than this, even when taking three servings per day!

Caralluma Fimbriata has some limited clinical support, but it appears to take a long time before it starts to work, with studies suggesting that appetite suppression is only noticed after a month of use. However, participants in studies also reported no weight loss. Source

Cha De Bugre has no clinical support linking it with weight loss at all.

Overall, we are not convinced that taking Skinny Fibre will contribute significantly to weight loss. Consumers may notice a slight decrease in appetite thanks to the glucomannan, but as the dose is less than recommended in clinical trials, it is not as effective as it could be. However, due to the presence of other ingredients, including a stimulant, adjusting the dosage to meet the recommendations of trials is a bad idea, as it could lead to other side effects developing.

What Are The Ingredients of Skinny Fiber?

The ingredients used in Skinny Fiber are listed below. No individual ingredient quantities are listed, as the product contains two proprietary formulas. This makes it more difficult to establish the potency and effectiveness of the supplement. The quantities listed below are per serving of two capsules.

    Proprietary Blend 1100 mg

    • Glucomannan (tuber) powder: Glucomannan is an ingredient that is derived from the root of an Asian plant called Konjac (Amorphophallus konjac). Glucomannan is a soluble fiber that has the capacity to absorb as much as 17 times its own weight in water. This means that it swells as it absorbs water, creating bulk in the stomach. It is this effect that causes a suppression of appetite. As it is considered a dietary fiber, Glucomannan is often used to treat constipation or to improve bowel movements.Several studies have suggested that Glucomannan causes a notable reduction in weight, prompting the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to definitively state that it can cause a loss of body weight when taken. However, one should note that not every study claims the same effect, and that weight loss can only be achieved when combined with a healthy diet.
      Source: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-205-glucomannan.aspx?activeingredientid=205&activeingredientname=glucomannan
    • Caralluma Fimbriata (whole plant) powder: Although touted as an appetite suppressing weight loss aid, this plants appetite suppressing qualities seem to take time to manifest (a month of use or more), and even when appetite was reduced in studies, no weight loss has been observed. This may be because of the relatively short period that the clinical studies observed participants for.
      Source: http://examine.com/supplements/Caralluma+fimbriata/
    • Cha de Bugre (leaf) powder: There is a lack of clinical trials or definite medical knowledge about this Brazilian plant. It is often used in Brazilian diet pills for appetite suppression. Also known as Cordia salicifolia, this fruit may have some health benefits but remains unproven for promoting weight loss.

Does Skinny Fiber Have Any Side Effects?

There are numerous reports of side effects in the customer reviews we found, including trapped gas, increased bowel movements, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, bloating, vomiting, constipation, nausea, and acid reflux. The ingredients used in Skinny Fiber can cause a range of different side effects. As individual ingredient quantities are not listed, it is difficult to establish the likelihood of side effects developing.

Glucomannan works by absorbing water in the stomach, making it very important to drink plenty of water when taking the product and adjust the dosage if problems occur. Consumers who do not drink enough water when taking glucomannan may experience constipation and stomach cramps. As glucomannan is a fibre, it is likely that its usage will increase the rate of one’s bowel movements. Diarrhoea may also occur. Those who experience diarrhoea should cease using the product immediately. Glucomannan also affects blood sugar levels. Diabetics should consult their doctor before taking any glucomannan-based product.

Caralluma Fimbriata might cause some side effects such as stomach upset, intestinal gas, constipation, and stomach pain.

There has been almost no clinical research into Cha De Bugre, and so there is a lack of information available about what side effects could be caused by the supplement. This does not necessarily mean that the supplement is side effect free, especially as the product is often described as a stimulant ingredient.

Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Diabetics should consult their doctor before purchasing this or any other glucomannan product. Not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing or breathing after taking the product, seek immediate medical attention. Do not exceed the recommended serving. Do not use if inner safety seal has been broken. Not suitable for anyone who is sensitive to stimulant ingredients. Consult your doctor if you are unsure about the suitability of this or any other supplement.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Skinny Fiber?

There are hundreds of customer reviews for Skinny Fiber online, including on amazon, where the majority of the customer reviews are rated one star.

This product is amazing! I have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. I have had nothing, but the best experience while taking Skinny Fiber. It does everything that it states. I will definitely purchase this product again and again.. I’m very happy!

I have been been taking this product for a while but when I saw how much less it was at Amazon I jumped on it! The product works well with taking off the inches more than pounds but also with making you healthy from the inside out. Well worth the money! You have to take about a month before seeing results and after that you can really tell a noticeable difference!

Helps with my in between snacking! Haven’t lost any lbs as yet. Will keep working at it a little longer.

this product did not make a bit of difference. I had no weight loss, no metabolism change, no extra energy, nothing in the reviews I read on this product were accurate. DONT BUY

Below are some of the reviews that have been left by our readers in the comments section:

I recently bought the buy 3 get 3 free Skinny Fiber. I tried it for two months but nothing happened, it did nothing for me. Tried to return it but I had mistakenly thrown away the first bottle and they absolutely refuse to do a refund. Because of (one empty bottle) they will not help you at all. So if you do try this, “Be sure to keep all the bottles.” Not impressed with product or company.

I took this tablet prior to lunch and dinner for a month. I was feeling rather sick before the final weekend (nausea and loathe to take the tab) so much so, that I didnt take the last three days of tabs. After ceasing the tabs I became very sick with chronic pain in my abdomen. I had an xray to discover a blocked colon. I spent two weeks taking heaps of laxative solutions and still not out of pain. Nine weeks now and I have a colonoscopy booked in a couple of weeks.. this will determine if Skinny Fibre has left residue in my bowel, I believe this is the case but we will see. I will write an update after the examination, which requires a general anesthetic, so its no small deal. In the meantime, if you have read this far, hold off taking this stuff until you hear back from me about the results (or not) of taking this tablet. PS .. absolutely no change whatsoever on the weight loss factor for the entire month either.

I had a very bad reaction to Skinny Fiber. I followed the directions and was on it for about 2 weeks when I stated getting trapped gas and very bad reflux with nausea.

The reflux got so bad it flared up my Asthma giving me a bronchial infection. I started coughing and the cough lasted 3 weeks. I had to go on an expensive acid blocker and even more expensive Asthma drugs. The entire mess cost me a few hundred dollars. The SF was given to me to try by a couple friends who had not had any luck with it. So at least I was not out any money there. I asked the person online selling it if it interacted with meds, if certain people should not take it etc and I was assured it was perfectly safe. I drank a ton of water, that was not hard because I am a big water drinker anyhow and I took it as directed so I know I did nothing wrong.

How this unregulated crap is sold without any testing or proof is beyond me.

I strongly suggest that people avoid it.

Anyone who says it works and is oh so wonderful is either selling it or getting paid to say so.

Does Skinny Fiber Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Skinny Fiber set out the following refund terms and conditions:

The Company will refund the purchase price of Product or exchange it pursuant to the following.

    1. If the Distributor (and/or his or her Customer who ordered directly from the Company) is not completely satisfied with the First Product Purchase, he or she may send to the Company the unused portion of the First Product Purchase within thirty (30) days of the original purchase date and the Company will refund 100% of the purchase price (less shipping and handling). If the First Product Purchase is returned after the thirty (30) day period, no refund will be given.

    2. Any Commissions paid to the Distributor and his or her Upline for the Product returned by the Distributor or Customer will be deducted from the respective Upline Distributors’ accounts or withheld from present or future Commission payments. A Distributor agrees that he or she will not rely on existing Downline Organization Volume at the close of a Commissions period, as returns may cause changes to his or her Title, Rank and/or Commissions payout.

    3. All shipping or courier costs for the return of Product will be borne solely by the Distributor unless otherwise prohibited by law. Any damage or loss that occurs to returned Product during shipping will be the responsibility of the Distributor.

    4. The Company will exchange Product if the Product is damaged in shipment, incorrectly sent due to a Company error, or of substandard quality. However, when an exchange is not feasible, the Company will refund the amount of the returned Product. If Product is damaged or defective, a Distributor should contact the Company within ten (10) days of receipt of the order.

Customers who order multiple bottles should be aware that the company will refuse all refunds where there are missing bottles, even if they were completely empty. We have found many reports of customers being refused refunds of hundreds of dollars, because they had thrown away an empty bottle!

Where Can I Buy Skinny Fiber?

Customers who want to order direct from the official Skinny Fiber website need to have a referral from a distributer. Customers cannot view any pricing information or sign up to be a distributer, without entering the username of the distributer who referred them. This incredibly frustrating for anyone who does not personally know a distributer. However, there are numerous websites that have been set up by distributers that allow potential customers to access the website, including the pricing options.

A ‘starter package’ of a single bottle costs $59.95 plus delivery charges. A ‘bonus pack’ contains 3 bottles, and costs $119.85, being marketed as a buy 2, get 1 free offer. The largest pack is the ‘premier value pack’, containing 6 bottles, and marketed as a buy 3 get 3 free offer; this pack costs $179.70 plus delivery charges. Delivery charges can be as much as $11.64, which is obviously significant! In comparison, many other companies offer free delivery on larger purchases.

There is also an auto-ship option; unlike other companies that offer an auto-ship option, this is an opt-in service, where customers need to click the button to add this to their order. The auto-ship button states:

OPTIONAL: I would also like to join the hassle-free autoship program and have one new bottle of Skinny Fiber shipped to me each month for the same low price of $59.95 plus shipping. I understand I can cancel my autoship at any time.

The product is also available on amazon. Here a single bottle costs $22.95 plus delivery charges. We have seen complaints from some distributers of Skinny Fiber, stating that they are not allowed to sell on amazon as a part of their contract, and claiming that any Skinny Fiber sold on amazon is a fake product. One distributer went so far as to state that consumers should never pay less than $60 per bottle, so that they can guarantee that they are getting the real thing.

This product is a scam as is my distributor. I am a registered nurse and took SF exactly as directed. I lost NO weight. I asked for them to honor the 30 day money back guaranty. I’ve been asking for directions on where to send the bottles and get a refund. I’ve sent 15 emails over six weeks. The only replies I received were rude, insulting, condescending and very unprofessional. I still don’t have the return information. My distributor was gettingskinnywithheather.
Run away from this product and distributors!

      1. LaWanza says:

        Hi Barbara,

I know Heather! She’s definitely not a scam artist. I’m sorry for what you have endured and will take this info back to Heather and the rest of SBC.

    2. Clare says:

Lol wow i may have been stupid enough to try this product until I read Peggy’s story so basically what you are saying its near enough cured you of diabetes ( if your nearly of all your meds including insulin) I don’t think so, sorry not medically possible you see if their was a pill to make your body start making insulin again diabetes would be gone this pill would have been snapped up by the medical world. So for the sellers to come out with this rubbish to sell it I wouldn’t go near it

      1. KimK says:

Please read up on Type 2 diabetes. This type of diabetes is the most common and a patient usually comes off of insulin once weight is under control. Kim, RN

    3. april says:

You say here that cha de bugre is a stimulant. i checked on Web MD and they say that it is not a stimulant. Which is it?

      1. Watchdog Staff says:

        Hi April,
Whether Cha De Bugre is a stimulant depends on the amount consumed. As there is no indication how much is included in this supplement then its difficult to know the effect (if any) of this ingredient.

    4. Chad R. says:

I’m not one to criticize others, but I must speak out and say that this post about Skinny Fiber is completely ridiculous!

May cause side effects? Anything you put in your mouth could cause side effects. The all natural ingredients in Skinny Fiber come from plants. You don’t get a better food source than that. While I understand that it may not be for everyone and that i may not work for everyone, there certainly has been an incredible amount of people who have used it and lost weight. Lots of weight. My wife, in less than 3 weeks, has lost 22 pounds, and I have lost 13 on Skinny Fiber. We have not changed one thing about our routine which is NOT one of exercise.

Your use of the term “Pyramid Scheme” would have you indicating that SBC is operating illegally which is flat out a LIE! If you are spreading something that is NOT true in this article and the people in this comment section are reading that’s messed up! Speak the dang truth! Network marketing has been around for decades and has changed the lives of countless people who have worked hard in them. There are boatloads of people that get into an MLM business and they do absolutely nothing and think they are going to get rich! Those are usually the people that make stupid comments about it. You have to work hard at anything in your life for it to work and pay you.

Ignorance and lies create NOTHING good! I’ve just wasted 30 minutes of my life reading this stupid page and making this comment. What a waste!

    7. Cherie says:

Skinny Fiber does NOT work. I have yet to find someone who is not a Skinny Fiber representative with a positive review. The woman I purchased it through goes on and on and on about how wonderful it is but her latest FB profile pic has her looking larger than ever. I sent mine back for a refund nearly three weeks ago and am still waiting.

    8. Shirley says:

<3 I have been taking SF for 4 weeks now & have lost 25 inches!!!!! 5 inches off each thigh, 5 inches off my waist, 2 inches off each upper arm, 1 inch off my neck, etc. Skinny FIber WORKS!!! I have not dieted or exercised. I do have problems swallowing pills but these are capsules. A distributor told me to open the capsules & sprinkle them in yogurt or a couple spoons of applesauce & then drink at least 8 oz of water. I signed up & bought the buy 3 get 3 free so it's only $30 per bottle. I have been trying every diet there is for most of my life. Skinny Fiber is a blessing & to me it is a miracle. By the way learn the difference between MLM & pyramids. This is MLM. I am so thankful for everyone in this company. They support one another & all customers & all people trying to lose weight or get healthier. That is the purpose of the support groups. We offer weight loss tips, recipes, motivation, etc. All the info about Skinny Fiber can be found in the files in our groups. We have nothing to hide & nothing to lie about. There are billions of customers & distributors who use the product & can & do attest to the remarkable benefits. Also I had hurt my knee & had excruciating pain every time I stood up for over 5 years. After taking Skinny Fiber for 2 weeks my knee pain is gone!!! I love my Skinny FIber!!!! <3

    9. Michelle says:

Today is day 4 on SF and I’ve lost 2 Pds already. But since yesterday having bad stomach pain and diarrhea. Thought it was the grapes I had but now wondering if its from SF. It helps soooo much with my appetite. Might have to rethink this.

    10. Jackie Croasdale says:

I have been on Skinny Fiber for 6 weeks. On the 4th week I got diarrhea. It was bad. I got stomach cramps too! I stopped taking SF and the diarrhea went away. At first I thought maybe I had a tummy bug. I went back on SF and BANG…… diarrhea came back. Some one on a SF site asked if I had IBS, well I didn’t have it before using SF but I think I may have it now using SF!! I am really disappointed as it does fill me up so I eat less and I have lost 7LBS but I cannot take the constant toilet trips!

      1. Jenny Jackson says:

I stopped taking them. I took them for 4 days and it gave me stomach cramps that kept me awake during the night. I was about to go to the doctor because it was so painful. But the pain went away when I stopped taking them.

    11. Stephanie says:

I signed up to be a distributor early in July and I live in Canada. I purchased the buy 3 get 3 free, which cost near $230.00 after p/h and exchange. The day I signed up I created a group. I was guided by the upline to post recipes, stock photos that they share and testimonies. I said that I could not say I love a product and be telling my freinds it is great when I had yet to try the product.
The 30 day money back is based on date of sale, I received the product the 3rd week in August, 6 weeks after I ordered and paid for it. Guarantee was expired !
I watched secret groups that I was privy to . One post was looking for support to come to this site and write a positive testamonial, looks like a great number of distributors did just that. At times a DT(distributor)will ask others in the secret group to help her with a customer. So other DT’s go on that persons page and post positive comments about SF.
For the most part I think the people involved truly believe what they are doing is supporting a great product.and the people in their group. Many truly believe that they are helping people.
Call it Pyrimid or Multi level marketing, call it what you want. I call it Stupid me for being So gullible ! I ended up with one more bottle, while trying to decide if I wanted to sell this stuff, I am out over $300.00. With good conscious I can not sell this .

      1. Ann Wright says:

Ty, I have reservations about this product. I to noticed All the distributors posted the same information. I to agree that it’s a Challenge to navigate the distributors page. This is the 1st legit comment, I’ve seen posted about this miracle guaranteed weight loss product.

      2. Tracy says:

Stephanie you are not alone. I pretty much did the same thing but I wasn’t aware of a do not sell clause on Ebay and my website was shut down. There is no 800# to call and here’s what they told me.

As you can see these folks aren’t very professional and I had to find out from another source about why they did to me. There are over 80 right now selling their product on ebay and below cost. I think many people are like me, trying to make money.

    12. Louise says:

I am a distributor for Skinny FIber based in NEW ZEALAND! This product is sold worldwide. There are thousands of distributors around the world and they are easily found over facebook and the internet. I’ve been on SF myself for 4 weeks and I’ve lost 4kg after I hit a plateau on my weight loss. I’ve sold hundreds of bottles to hundreds of very very happy customers! A couple didn’t lose kg’s, but one lost 9cm off her hips in the first week. I don’t need to TRY and make it sell, because the results speak for themselves. Funny how Charla above says “I refused to buy it”, yet is on here posting information. And I also noticed that there’s an advert in here for another weight loss pill….I find that funny. Before you go writing a blog about a certain product, perhaps the try it before you open your mouth mentality needs to kick in. SF works! And for the customers mine where it hasn’t worked, it’s because they didn’t take it regularly. Skinny Fiber will ONLY work IF and only if you actually take it. No use claiming it doesn’t work when you keep forgetting.

    13. Peter says:

My wife is on this Skinny fiber for three weeks and it is helps her arthritis pain and backpain she has come off all the pain meds now after a year taking them she’s also last 10 cm off her waste.

I don’t recommend stopping any prescribed meds talk to you dr.

    14. Charla says:

it is so obvious that the first 36 people to post praise on here are the same person as the “positive” posts all came within3-4 minutes apart on the same day. Silly. This product is a joke. It is all about marketing and nobody really knows if it works or cares to be honest. I know people on the matrix and NONE of them even use the product! They are all in it for the get rich quick thinking that never happens by the way. The product really is just a pyramid scheme. TRUST ME! I know first hand. i refused to buy into it but have watched these friends of mine bust their butts trying to make it sell! JOKE!

      1. LaWanza says:

Now… If you never bought the product or sold the product, how can u know first hand what is going on? What you’ve post is an opinion based on what you think, not on any concrete evidence you have.

There are two truths about my journey with Skinny Fiber. I am losing weight and I am making money.

I also have a full time job in the corporate world. My job is the pyramid scheme! Clearly those touting pyramid scheme have no clue what it is.

My job is owned by investors. And only the CEO, Coo, VP’s and such make real money those of us that are managers and lower, who do all the work busting my ass 50+ hours a week, don’t see anywhere near what they make. We don’t even have that possibility as they at an elite team of ppl. And it’s the same with every corporate job everywhere.

SBC is definitely NOT what I just described.

    15. April says:

Those who are crying “PYRAMID SCHEME” have no idea even what one is. And shame on the blog authors for labeling Multi-Level Marketing as a “pyramid scheme”. Product is sold, commissions are paid. A “pyramid” is your basic corporate structure. Only the guy at the top can make the most money. The ones at the base of the pyramid (peon employees) have no chance of making the same amount of money, no matter how hard they work. I invite any one who claims MLM to by a pyramid scheme to read the book “The Flip Flop CEO” — it’s written exactly for people who don’t understand the industry.

      1. Rosemarie says:

Well said April and shame on this watch dogger for saying so as well, she obviously knows nothing about the company and how we support and help people with weight problems, I think anyone wanting to write a watch do report should have to take the product as well, to feel the results not just look for bad comments and then write her pro’s and con’s from “research”… Again once said corporate america is a pyramid scheme…shame on you for putting such negetivatey associated with a product helping more than not not everything works the same or 100% for everyone

    16. Angela says:

Haha I’ll give you a negative comment! I am in the process of returning the garbage. I did everything I was suppose to, exercise, eat good, drink water. …took the capsules at least half hour before meals and I still ate the same and was hungry an hour after I ate. After taking the capsules my stomach would feel so uncomfortable and I can’t express how much gas I had. It completely backed me up and I had a very difficult time going. The ordering process was kind of a pain but I had high hopes! I was only able to literally speak with someone one time to verify shipment but after that, the line kept cutting me off. I had to email them and wait for answers. Very irritated right now. Oh, and just for fun, as a little test, they claimed that the product expands tremendously, so I put it in a cup of water. Up to 10 hours later still checking throughout the day, no significant difference whatsoever. What a waste…..

      1. Angela says:

Oh I forgot the biggest annoyance! I put on 10 lbs! Like I didn’t already have enough to lose!

        1. Kenneth says:

Angela, body chemistry varies…sometimes what people do not understand is that you must detoxify your system before taking any fat burner…detoxification removes all those toxins and makes the fat burner works…i do have such issue from someone and i advised the person to detoxify using some natural herbal detoxifiers from Traditional chinese medicine like Constilease and gastrifort and the effect was wonderful…so find some good detoxifier and detoxify for like 5 to 10 days and try skinny fiber again…you will confirm its ok…thanks

          1. Margie says:

Which toxins are removed from the body in order for weight loss to begin?

    17. stacy says:

Are all the positive comments on here from distributors? I find it fishy when there is not one negative comment on here.

      1. stacy says:

oops I guess I didn’t read enough of them

        1. Tracy says:

Stacy I wouldn’t sell for them nor ever use their product again. I purchased in bulk and like many others sold on Ebay. I didn’t know there was a clause about not selling. The product is expensive if purchased individually and a lot of people can’t afford it. The Skinnybodycare folks tell people don’t go to Ebay or Amazon because of fakes. That is BS, because 9 out of 10 people selling are trying to make a profit. I got banned and I learned the hard way that it is forbidden. There are over 80 people selling. Has Skinny Fiber helped me? Yeah I’ve lost a few pounds but nothing significant and I exercise every single day and post menopausal. If anything, it has made my hair and nails grow. I agree most of the people on here selling the positives on here are Distributors. Never again.

      2. Jenny Jackson says:

I have been taking skinny fiber for four three days, and it gave me horrible stomach cramps!!! I won’t be taking them anymore!!!!

    18. Terri says:

Several months ago I joined a group that was supposed to be dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle and weight loss. I soon discovered that it was also operated by a woman who sold Skinny Fiber. Thus, through the open forum of the group, I was able to learn a great deal about the product via personal accounts of SF fans…and I must agree with Max in that it is definitely a money-making-operation first and foremost because the rest is really just common sense and the placebo effect.
      1) Drinking a solid 64 ounces of water a day (particularly before meal times) will of course make you feel full faster/limit your appetite. My mom started that 3 years ago and has used it to go down 8 dress sizes.
      2) People who take SF are told to stay away from soda/sugary drinks, limit carb intake/processed foods, eat 4-6 small meals a day, and to be more active. Combine that with 64 ounces of water and it sounds like you’ve finally managed to get yourself on a diet plan. The only difference is that people are afraid to break this one because it might inhibit the “magic” of the SF.
      3) Many people who take SF claim that it has helped with IBS and thyroid problems among other things…A background in healthcare tells me that this is more likely a result of the diet and healthier lifestyle that the SF requires of you, not the SF itself.

      1. Natalie says:

I’m with you Terri and Max. I believe it’s just one massive money making scam. No doubt it will only be a matter of time before it’s unveiled as such.
I myself was suckered into purchasing the product, after joining several Facebook pages dedicated to ‘healthy living’ yet run by SF distributors. I started to smell a rat when, after about a month, I had put on weight. With no dietary changes except for consuming and bucket load of water every day and swallowing the tablets. When I started asking questions on one Facebook page things became apparent to me that the distributors clearly have no knowledge of the process behind how the product works. Everyone who replied to me on the page claiming they were having success had changed their diet and were exercising more. I challenged that by pointing out the obvious in that anyone would of course lose weight by doing that! To add to that, the ‘expert’ advice received from my distributor after first receiving the product was only to increase water intake, try to do a few days of cardio a week, and to follow a ‘sensible’ diet. Again, I challenged that a sensible diet is subjective and could be anything from low fat, to low sugar, to low carb. So which one was it? No one could answer. I too offered the theory that the pill was acting as a placebo. Their response? Remove me and my comments from the Facebook page (was the husband of the distributor who did it too – wouldn’t want the wifey to lose business/money now, would we?!!!).
After that I contacted Skinny Body Care to give feedback on that experience, and to ask TWO questions. One: How do I utilise the money back guarantee? And Two: if I actually decided, after finding out the process of how to get my money back, to continue with the product, how could I do so without going through the same distributor. Their reply? “You are welcomed (yes, ‘welcomed’) to purchase through another distributor by using a different email address and credit card”. That was it!!! I replied back to ask AGAIN how to apply for the refund, and have still not received a response (that was weeks ago now). So their money back guarantee is a SCAM right there in itself
As for the product. I think it’s a scam for a few reasons. Sure, the fiber (and the copious amounts of water you have to take with it) will fill you up. But read a little into that particular affect fiber has on the body, and you’ll soon realise it’s not a good thing for your stomach to be stretched so much!!! The result of such stretching then requires more product/food to fill the gap! Their solution? Pop more pills!!! Or on the flippside, what’s going to happen when you stop taking the pills? You’ll need to fill that whole with food, that’s what!! And therein starts the vicious Skinny Fiber cycle again – people will assume they ‘need’ Skinny Fiber to keep the pounds off, and buy more product. It’s a scamming company’s DREAM!
Not to mention that the testimonials for EVERY Facebook page are the same. Some pages have tens of thousands of followers, yet very few photographic testimonies (of their own). Why is that? I’ll tell you why. It’s probably because they’re fake. I came across a comment on a Blog recently, while doing some Google searching on whether Skinny Fiber is a scam, which was from an ex-distributor who claimed her conscious finally got the better of her and she shut down her Facebook page and stopped sellingthe

      2. Pam says:

Amen, Terri! I can’t believe the number of people who don’t recognize water + healthy diet + activity (WITH or WITHOUT Skinny Fibre) obviously = weight loss! It’s. marketing ploy. Period. If you need more fibre to assist in feeling full prior to meals try fruit, increased vegetable intake, bran etc. Create your own disciplines regime…for FREE! Now there’s a novel, healthy idea.

        1. Tracy says:

Yeah I would stay away from these folks. SkinnyFiber has no 800# and that is not good!

    19. Sherry says:

I just dont understand why people dont just buy the Glucomannan at the health foods store. Its under $20. I use that and 5HTP and get the same result for 1/3 the cost of Skinny Fiber.

      1. Lynette says:

Hi Sherry, can you tell me what 5HTP is? Sorry, I’m reading through all of these comments and I’m not really up on health food items. Obviously from the looks of me! LOL
        Thanks in advance.

      2. Carol says:

There is more to Skinny Fiber than just Glucomannan. It also contains Caralluma, Cha Da Bugre (not sure I spelled that right) and 7 or 8 digestive enzymes. Each has their own role in helping you lose weight.

    20. Peggy Roberts Way says:

I have got some age on me so I can TRUTHFULLY SAY I have been on every weight loss every invented…and then some ! NOTHING and I DO MEAN NOT ONE SINGLE THING has ever helped me like Skinny Fiber has ! I started taking it in January and as of yesterday I have now lost 51 lbs……..and get this….I sit at the computer all day with ZERO exercise ! I WILL start exercising to firm it all up but I just wanted to let you all know what Skinny Fiber does with NO exercise !
My son is off all of his diabetes meds but one and has at this time cut way back on it. Myself, I am diabetic too and am off insulin, and been downgraded 3 times off of my other meds. So we both just have one to go, and that one is definitely on it’s way OUT ! 🙂
And you know, there is NOTHING TO LOSE ! Skinny Fiber is 100% 30 day money back guaranteed, no questions asked ! It can’t GET any better than this !!!! 🙂

    21. Sharon Christman says:

you need to get your facts straight before posting a negative review. SF doesn’t need FDA approval, It’s NOT a drug…………..we have clinicals to back up the product. I would post the link here, but you’d probably remove it. SF is NOT magic, and we tell ppl what to expect. It will make you feel fuller, it won’t take your appetite away completely (you need to eat to lose) Over time, it WILL curb or eliminate cravings. There are no stimulants in SF so you may not *feel* it working, but it is definitely working! I am losing slower than I have with diets before, but the great thing is, I AM NOT ON ANY DIET. I eat what I want, when I want and I am STILL losing. I LOVE THAT! My 35 year battle with IBS is history…….I am not experiencing pain from fybromyalgia any longer, and I feel better than I have in 30 years! You ppl need to do better research. I don’t know how you had trouble *navigating the website* when a 10 year old could do it…………..I just had my grandson go to my site and process an order as if he were buying it…………HE MANAGED with no problems! And how could you miss the fact that we have a 30 day money back guarantee??? And you are totally wrong about having to be on autoship to take advantage of any of the special pricing (re: Buy2/get 1 free; or buy 3 get 3 free). There are no such requirements. I would suggest you go back and do another, less biased review, but this time base it on facts.

      1. Martha says:

They also say it is sold from several levels of distributors and that is not true…We never touch the customers product they recieve it direct from the distribution center…It is not safe to purchase from an auction site such as Amazon or Ebay…only order from a Skinny body care website to insure you get a REAL product that does come with a 30 day empty bottle guarantee 🙂

    22. Max DeBerg says:

Lol, Can’t believe some of these comments, you are all making yourself look a little foolish don’t you think?
It is so obvious that this is a pyramid scheme designed to make money for those at the top and everyone who has commented here is brainwashed to say the same things to protect their income source.
The whole thing is set up to recruit more people below you so you make money off their sales, yes the ones who get in early make money off the misery of those below them. How do I know? Well my wife was conned into this by a “friend” before she eventually saw the light and got out. She never lost any weight and was only told to sign people up below her and get them promoting it. This is how a typical pyramid scheme works and will hopefully be made illegal very soon.
Wake up and smell the coffee people, you are all brain washed members of a cult led by a crazy religious leader (in my opinion of course)

      1. Watchdog Staff says:

        Hi Max,
In the interest of balance we are letting comments through at the moment, but please keep things polite and to the point without making accusations that may or may not be true.

        1. melissa says:

I sell skinny fiber and I take it no I dont make a lot of money but I love the results I get from using it .I usually make enough from sales to cover my one bottle I am required to order every month to stay distributor .some months I might make some extra cash but the way I look at it im losing weight for free

      2. Sharon Christman says:

I get so sick of ppl referring to a *pyramid scheme*…………we sell PRODUCT,,,,,,,,,,,,we are NEVER trained *to get ppl under us promoting it* If you knew anything at all about the industry, you’s realize how ignorant your comments are. No wonder your wife didn’t make any money with a support system such as you for back up. If she TOOK the SF AS DIRECTED, she would have had results, but with a negative husband like you, I’m sure she just gave up.

      3. Debbie King says:

if selling a product actually 2 products is a pyramid scheme then our entire country is set up as a pyramid scheme corporate offices -Donald trump-Warren Buffet all pyramid schemes …No this is how all companies are run you have a president-vice pres- and on down to those that clean the bathrooms all get paid….I am so sorry your wife did not stay in as it may have just took longer for her to lose you have to look at the whole picture -your health- what you are consuming daily-water intake and so much more … I love my skinny fiber it has made me a healthier person and I feel great even when all around me got sick this winter I did not get sick due to eating right and my skinny fiber : ) Debbie King feel free to email me if you like dking (at) net1.net and we can look at her diet and health issues.

      4. Heili says:

I’m not brainwashed one bit! But I am losing weight, helping others lose weight and making more than I ever could dream of at an office job. As a single mother I get to stay home with my toddler and seriously, it’s only been five months so I’m no where near the top and I’m making over a grand a week with hardly anyone below me. I recruit no one. They come to me and want information to enroll! It’s an amazing product and company. Shame your wife didn’t stick to it – by now she’d be making a ton of money and probably be at her goal weight.

      5. LaWanza says:

You are completely incorrect! I have been apart of Milne prograns before that I would consider a pyramid scheme. But from the FIRST week I began promoting, I made money! You don’t have to sign anyone under you to make money in SBC! Heck I don’t even promote signing up, I promote the product. Most distributors start selling after they have seen for themselves what the product can do. So clearly you have been misinformed!

    23. Bonnie Myers says:

I have to laugh at this. First of all I’m a mom. Second, I’m a distributor due to the results. The reason I’m laughing is you don’t even read your own posts. You posted about Glucomannan.

      *copy pasted content removed*

I do see you have changed your review. I looked at it after reading several comments. I use the product to help me loose weight. I don’t have to take antidepressants any longer. My Ulcer is gone and for the first time ever my Doctor has lowered my Thyroid medicine. And my hormones due to menopause are leveling out and no more hot flashes. All of this is in the first month of taking Skinny Fiber. I have an 11 year old daughter who has stomach trouble the doctor has not been able to correct are better. I have my doctor, a friends doctor (I was in the office with her) and a nutritionist all approve the use of Skinny fiber.

As far as it being a pyramid scheme. I have made more money in this in a little over a month than I did in over a year in real estate. I don’t have anyone under me. I am just following the free training that is provided. So, if this is a scheme KEEP ME IN!

    24. Lynda says:

I take Skinny Fiber and it does work, also I am now a distributor and you can not get the actual product on Amazon or EBay. The ones that sell on those sites buy a knock off product not the actual stuff. Just so people understand this product does work but youngsters buy from a distributor not from anyone on amazon or eBay .

    25. VALERIE says:

Please keep in mind that there are a lot of fake skinny fibers sold on ebay and amazon. please let your readers know that if they do buy from there, not to buy for under $59.95. the company does not sell under that price on auction sites or amazon.

as far as everything else, some of the information is not correct. as lack of support. distributers give excellent support and answer all questions before sending customers to the website. i do not mind a negative review on a product that has done wonders for me, but please do not send your readers to amazon or ebay. a lot of those pills are safe and users do not know what they are taking! very unsafe!
you can take a look at my personal website to see how i handle information apart from my support group
*sales page from this person removed*

    26. Julieantonio.16 says:

lol, shouldn’t you try to get at least some of the facts straight? Skinny Fiber works and articles like this will never change that. You shouldn’t write from the point of view that the people reading your article aren’t smart enough to do their own research and realize you are wrong. Skinny Fiber has a 30 day empty bottle refund policy, it doesn’t just assume you’ll feel full with fiber, although it does that too, and the enzymes are wonderful and amazing. I love Skinny Fiber, I haven’t felt this good in decades and I love knowing it’s good for me!

    27. Mark says:

The website is not hard to order from nor do you have to be on autoship to qualify for the buy 3 get 3 offer. You really need to get your facts straight before you post them.

    28. Ginger says:

I have to say I love skinny fiber. It isn’t a quick fix, they tell you that, or atleast they should be telling you that up front, the girl I bought it off did. So you may not see significant changes in a week. There is an autoship option, but it isn’t hidden or anything, the site I ordered off of was very straight forward and easy. And the 100% money back guarantee is an awesome thing, you don’t get that with alot of others. I didn’t have a hard time navigating the site either.
I’ve taken it since Jan and have lost almost 30 pounds and went from a size 20 to a size 13. I don’t even take it every day b/c I tend to forget.
I’ve tried alot of other things, HCG, Hydroxcut, Phentrime(sp), pretty much you name it I’ve tried it and I couldn’t be happier with the product.

    29. Judy Caughlin says:

I started using Skinny Fiber on Jan 20,2013. By May 31, I lost 50 pounds and a total of 25 inches. I have been heavy for over 20 years and tried many products. This is the first product that I’ve found that works. I wasn’t dieting or exercising while taking the product but it gives me energy so now I walk and I try to watch what I eat. I love Skinny Fiber…It has changed my life

      1. Debbie King says:

That is awesome Judy it has helped so many people my sister in law may get off her thyroid meds before long 🙂 So happy for you and all the others this product has helped

        1. Kimberly Dietz says:

Thank you for this review! I just started taking SF and I’m so encouraged by your response!:)

    30. P Watson says:

I have used and yes I do sell this product. I suffer from high blood pressure and high cholesterol and my doctor has told me it is safe to take. I have lost 30 pounds and lost most of my food cravings without any side effects. There is a money back guarantee, so I suggest this site does a bit more research before giving any product a “thumbs down” review.
