Sletrokor

Sletrokor is a weight loss aid manufactured and sold by 18Nutrition, a company based in Los Angeles, USA. However, the manufacturers make misleading statements about how the product could aid weight loss. Sletrokor can also cause a wide range of side effects, yet none of these potential side effects are mentioned on the product website. The manufacturer states that they offer a money-back guarantee and that customers can try the product 100% risk-free, but this is incredibly misleading, as opened products cannot be returned. To top it off, 18Nutrition have a terrible reputation for poor customer service.

There are many tricks used by diet pill manufacturers to encourage customers to make a hasty purchase. These include making dramatic claims about their product, claiming that they have very limited stock levels available, and claiming that they are offering hugely discounted prices on their products. The manufacturers of Sletrokor use all of these tactics to promote their diet pill, but many of these tactics are misleading to the customer.

Below we take an in-depth look to see just how effective Sletrokor really is.

Sletrokor Overview

What you need to know about Sletrokor

Sletrokor is a weight loss aid manufactured and sold by 18Nutrition, a company based in Los Angeles, USA. Sletrokor supposedly aids ‘easy weight loss’ by reducing hunger, enhancing a healthy metabolism, and increasing levels of serotonin in the body.

However, the manufacturers make misleading statements about how the product could aid weight loss. They only list a few of the ingredients used in the diet pill on the website, and use these ingredients to suggest that the product increases the metabolism and reduces the consumer’s appetite. In reality, it appears that the main ingredient is a carb blocker. This will inevitably lead to customers feeling either mislead, or disappointed that the product failed to work for them as described.

What are the side effects of Sletrokor?

Sletrokor can cause a wide range of side effects. None of these potential side effects are mentioned on the product website, and the manufacturers claim that the product is safe to use. The presence of a laxative means that Sletrokor should not be used for more than two weeks at a time.

For a full list of what could happen, please see the Side Effects tab below.

How much does Sletrokor cost?

When initially visiting the Sletrokor website, customers are immediately faced with a box prompting customers to enter their information and order a product. Here the website states that Sletrokor is “just $35.99 per bottle*”.

However, on the actual ordering page, customers are given three purchasing options: a single bottle will cost $59.99 plus $5.99 flat rate shipping. There is also a buy two, get one free offer, meaning that three bottles will cost $119.97 with free shipping. Finally, there is a buy three, get two free offer, meaning that five bottles will cost a total of $179.95 with free shipping. This offer is the option that is referred to in the “just $35.99 per bottle*” statement.

Sletrokor Key Features

Sletrokor is a weight loss aid manufactured and sold by 18Nutrition, a company based in Los Angeles, USA. Sletrokor supposedly aids ‘easy weight loss’ by reducing hunger, enhancing a healthy metabolism and increasing levels of serotonin in the body.

The manufacturers of Sletrokor claim that they have an award-winning formula, with 30,000 plus happy customers, who have lost over 1,100,000 lbs between them. They also claim that the product has been ‘voted as #1 weight loss pill of 2015’ but offer no evidence for this. The website also states ‘Try it 100% risk free’, but the company does not accept returns on opened products.

18Nutrition also have a product called Vitakor which we have reviewed here: https://www.dietpillswatchdog.com/vitakor/

Sletrokor Key Points

  • Manufactured by 18Nutrition
  • 60 capsules per bottle (15 day supply)
  • Company notoriously difficult to contact

The company lists some contact details on the official website, including a contact phone number (800.614.1820). However, customers have complained that the phone line is almost never answered, and calls are never returned. Some customers have been able to receive refunds via their banks when failing to contact the company, although this is not guaranteed.

The company’s privacy policy strongly suggests that 18Nutrition, who manufacture this product, will sell customer information on to other third parties. This information includes the customer’s phone number and email address, and so customers could receive offers for ‘other products that may interest you’ via email and telemarketing.

How to Take Sletrokor

  • As a dietary supplement take two capsules immediately before mealtimes with 8 ounces of water. Do not exceed two capsules per meal or take this product with more than two meals per day. This product should be used in conjunction with a sensible diet and exercise program.

Phaseo vulgaris appears to act as a carb blocking ingredient; by reducing the amount of carbohydrates that are digested in the stomach, it effectively reduces the total absorbed calories from a meal. Successful clinical trials have used doses of 2000 mg per day, but it is unclear how much of this ingredient is included in Sletrokor because it is comprised of a proprietary formula. Chitosan appears to have a blocking effect upon fat and cholesterol, binding in the stomach with some fat, allowing it to pass through the body undigested. Many of the studies of Chitosan have been of poor quality, and results have varied hugely. One overview of fifteen relevant trials concluded that ‘Results obtained from high-quality trials indicate that the effect of chitosan on body weight is minimal and unlikely to be of clinical significance.’

Cider vinegar could theoretically act as a mild appetite suppressant, but the clinical trial associated with the theory used fresh vinegar rather than a powdered supplement. It is unclear if a powdered supplement form of apple cider vinegar would work in the same way to suppress the appetite. The effect is also very mild, with only a very small increase in the rate of weight loss seen over a prolonged period of use.

Sletrokor Concerns

  • No money-back guarantee
  • Difficult to contact company
  • Misleading claims on the product website

Garcinia Cambogia has very positive animal based clinical trials associated with it, but the evidence in humans is hugely varied, with some studies showing that it does not affect the appetite or metabolic rate of the consumer, and that it does not aid weight loss. In one clinical trial, participants taking a placebo lost more weight than those taking Garcinia Cambogia.

Cascara sagrada is a laxative, and so could create the impression of immediate weight loss, as the consumer loses water weight and has increased bowel movements, tricking consumers into thinking they have experienced immediate results. Laxatives do not have any effect upon stored fat in the body.

Gymnema Sylvestre is still relatively under-researched for weight loss purposes, but initial studies have had promising results. However, it may not work for all consumers, and it is not suitable for use by diabetics.

What does Sletrokor claim to do?

According to the official Sletrokor website, Sletrokor has the following benefits:

  • Supports healthy cholesterol
  • Boosts serotonin
  • Reduces hunger
  • Enhances healthy metabolism
  • Aids reduced blood pressure
  • Increases immune function
  • Shoots down leptin ratio
  • Increasing levels of serotonin

Does Sletrokor work?

The customer reviews that we were able to locate strongly suggest that the product does not aid significant weight loss. Many customers are complaining that the product does not suppress the appetite; the main ingredient that will suppress the appetite is cider vinegar, and clinical trials show that the effects of this ingredient are very small.

Garcinia cambogia is thought by some to act as an appetite suppressant, but there is no clinical support for this at all. There is also very little evidence to support its use as a fat burner, and more evidence to suggest that it does not contribute to weight loss at all.

The main ingredient that could aid weight loss is Phaseo vulgaris, more commonly known as white kidney bean extract. This acts as a carb blocker, but as the dosage used in this product is unknown, it could potentially be present in insufficient doses to impact upon weight loss. It will not work when used in conjunction with a carbohydrate-free diet.

Sletrokor also contains a laxative; this will not aid weight loss in the long run, but could give the initial impression of weight loss, as the body expels more water and waste matter.

Chitosan is considered to have minimal impact upon body weight, and so will probably not aid significant or noticeable weight loss. It may help to lower cholesterol levels.

The ingredients used in this diet pill could aid some weight loss, provided they are used in adequate doses. However, the pill will not hugely suppress the appetite, or boost the metabolism.

Sletrokor Ingredients

The listed ingredients used in Sletrokor, as promoted on the website are as follows; Garcinia Cambogia, aloe vera, cascara sagrada and gymnema sylvestre.

The full supplements fact information box as provided on the official website provides a much longer ingredients list, as detailed below.

The ingredient quantities used in the diet pill are also not listed although a total dosage of the proprietary formula is listed. Each serving of two capsules contains 1500 mg of the proprietary blend. Consumers are instructed to take up to four capsules per day, providing a total of 3000 mg of the proprietary blend.

  • Legume Protein Concentrate (Phaseo vulgaris): More commonly known as white kidney bean extract. One study in humans showed that participants who consumed white kidney bean extract, in addition to being on a multi-component weight loss programs (diet, exercise and behavioural intervention) lost more weight when compared to those who just followed the multi-component diet.

  • Chitosan: a type of fibre extracted from the shells of crustaceans such as lobster and crabs. It may block the absorption of dietary fat and cholesterol. Studies suggest its effects are minimal.

  • Cider vinegar (as powder): One Japanese study has suggested that consumption of apple cider vinegar daily may lead to a very small amount of weight loss, compared to consuming water. However, over the three-month study, those who took the apple cider vinegar only lost 1-2 pounds more than their water drinking counterparts.
  • Garcinia Cambogia: Test tube and animal research suggest that HCA, the active compound in Garcinia Cambogia, may be helpful in weight loss because of its effects on metabolism. Whilst some studies have found it has no effect upon either appetite or metabolic rate, others showed increased weight loss compared to the use of a placebo.

  • Aloe Vera: When taken orally, Aloe is thought to treat a number of different ailments including fever, itching and inflammation, stomach ulcers, diabetes and asthma. It is also used as a general tonic. However, there is little clinical evidence to support any of these uses.

  • Cascara Sagrada: This used to be an FDA-approved drug to treat constipation, but it was demoted to a non-prescription dietary supplement after manufacturers refused to provide any evidence supporting this plant’s safety. It appears to be safe for short-term use, but should not be used for more than 2 weeks.

  • Gymnema Sylvestre: Traditionally used in Indian medicine, several studies have shown that this herb can support healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Research into Gymnema Sylvestra’s role in weight loss is still in preliminary stages, but a few studies are publishing promising results. It appears to lower blood glucose levels.

Sletrokor Side Effects

Phaseo vulgaris can cause some side effects, including stomach pains, stomach discomfort and tenderness, bloating, heartburn, increased bowel movements and flatulence. The use of carb blockers may seriously reduce or limit the creation of alpha-amylase, the enzyme that breaks down carbohydrates in the stomach. Whilst this will aid weight loss in the short term, it may become unhealthy to continue this in the long term.

Consumers who eat large amounts of carbohydrates whilst using the diet pill may experience sudden diarrhoea following meals. This is because of the large amount of food that is being passed through the digestive tract without being fully digested. It is also possible that carb-blockers may interfere with vitamin absorption. Whilst in the short term, this may not cause significant health problems, the use of carb blockers should not be long term.

Garcinia Cambogia can cause side effects such as nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache.

Gymnema Sylvestre can cause blood sugar levels to lower; if dieters have not eaten for a long period of time when taking this product, they could develop very low blood sugar levels, which can cause dizziness, light-headedness and even fainting.

Chitosan can cause an upset stomach, constipation and gas. Those with shellfish allergies may react to Chitosan, but as it is taken from the outer skeleton of shellfish, the risk of allergic reaction is lower than if it were taken from the actual meat.

Cascara Sagrada is a laxative, and so will cause increased bowel movements, and could cause diarrhoea, dehydration and even constipation. Laxatives are not suitable for long-term use, and so this product should not be used for more than two weeks at a time.

Caution: Not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. This product will not be effective in combination with a diet containing no carbohydrates at all. Not suitable for those under the age of 18. If you have a known medical condition including diabetes or hypoglycaemia and have questions about the advisability of taking this product, consult your physician prior to purchase. May contain shellfish derivatives.

Sletrokor Customer Feedback

One of our readers requested that we review Sletrokor; the feedback for this product from some of our readers is overall very negative.

I placed my order on the 11th. I was supposed to receive a confirmation of my order. I checked my credit card account. The charges appeared 2 days later and I still have not received an order confirmation. I tried calling the 800# and no one will answer the phone.
I have to leave a message. Instead I went to the contact us on their website filled out the contact me, and asked they cancel my order. I also called my back to file a dispute. Thank goodness I have print screens of my transactions. Something just doesn’t seem right here.

I bought this back in January. Made me very ill I was in the hospital for 9 days. When someone finally returned my call, I was asked to return the product at my own expense. I mailed them on March 27, 2015. Still no credit to my account or contact with anyone. Now I can’t find the 800 number. Anyone else with this issue??

There are some positive reviews of sletrokor.

I have been using Sletrokor for two months now and am very satisfied with the results. Although I have not weighed myself nor am I exercising, I can tell a difference in inches lost. And I find I get a full feeling with less food. Because I have a goal of losing 50 lbs., I will continue using the product. Thank you.

Sletrokor Money-Back Guarantee

The manufacturers state on the main page of the Sletrokor website that they have a 100% money-back guarantee. However, this is a very misleading statement, as the terms and conditions reveal that the returns policy is limited to a 15-day period, and that it only covers unopened bottles.

1. We have 15 days return policy for our products. Please note that we accept unopened bottles only.
2. In order to process Your refund, You must supply 18Nutrition with your name, order ID and delivery address. If You provide us with insufficient or incorrect information, refund will be delayed.
3. In order to qualify for a refund, you must provide us all the information we ask for, and comply with all other terms specified on this website for such purpose.
4. To claim your refund under this guarantee, please contact support team from Contact Us page.

Where To Buy Sletrokor

The website states that a single bottle will provide a 1-month supply of the product, but the directions for use show that if used as directed, a single bottle of 60 capsules will only last for 15 days. This makes this diet pill incredibly expensive to use.

The company also encourages the customer to purchase shipping insurance costing $7.99, and the checkbox for this add-on is already checked when visiting the order page.

Watchdog Verdict

We are not impressed by Sletrokor at all. This diet pill is incredibly expensive for a mere 15-day supply, with a single bottle costing $65.98 when taking shipping fees into account. The manufacturer states that they offer a money-back guarantee and that customers can try the product 100% risk-free, but this is incredibly misleading, as opened products cannot be returned.

The manufacturers, 18Nutrition, have a terrible reputation for poor customer service, and numerous customers have reported that they rarely answer the customer service phone number, even though they state they maintain standard office opening hours.

The company also sell the customer’s information onto third parties, and so ordering from 18Nutrition could lead to customers receiving phone calls and emails from other companies trying to sell them products.

Overall, there are few redeeming factors for Sletrokor, and many issues we have with both the product and the manufacturing company. We do not recommend Sletrokor to our readers.
