The idea behind SlimJOY BootBurn Active XXL is that you take it (a mango flavoured powder that you add to water) before a workout and you’ll burn more calories than usual. It is even said to work when you don’t exercise. This is a bit of a stretch, but you will notice a slight thermogenic effect. Our main problem with this supplement is the inclusion of yerba mate, which has been linked with a whole host of cancers. It’s quite expensive as each box only contains 15 days worth, but there is a money-back guarantee (although you’ll have to send any returns back to Slovenia).
We have looked at the SlimJOY Boot Burner Active XXL in closer detail and examined the ingredients, to see if it lives up to its claims of being clinically proven.
SlimJOY Boot Burn Active XXL is a once-a-day powder supplement (mango flavour) which is designed to be dissolved in water and consumed 30-60 minutes before a workout. It claims to be clinically proven, and that it can help users to burn as many calories during a 20-minute workout session as they normally would during a 100-minute session without it, due to its thermogenic effect. It is made by Sensilab, a supplement company based in Slovenia.
Yerba mate (green mate) is the most worrying ingredient in the supplement. It increases the risk of esophageal cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer, bladder cancer, cervical cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and possibly laryngeal or mouth cancer. This risk is especially high for people who smoke or drink alcohol.
There are also other forms of caffeine in here, and these can cause effects such as jitteriness, anxiety, raised blood pressure and increased heart rate, increased need to urinate, insomnia, and disruption to sleep patterns.
SlimJOY Boot Burn Active XXL, at the time of writing, costs £19.90 from the official SlimJOY website. This is a 33% discount on the original price of £29.90.
This price is for 15 sachets, which should last the customer for 15 days if taken as directed.
SlimJOY Boot Burn Active XXL is a once-daily weight loss supplement made in Slovenia by Sensilab, although the brand name is SlimJOY. It has a long list of ingredients, including many vitamins, to apparently help to burn fat quickly and effectively.
The product is made by Sensilab, who appears to be based in Slovenia. However, their email address is a UK one, according to the official website: [email protected]
They stock a range of supplements under the SlimJOY brand name.
Sensilab/Slim JOY claim that their Boot Burn Active XXL supplement is clinically proven and does the following:
The SlimJOY Boot Burn Active XXL may work for some people. There are a couple of thermogenic ingredients in there that will raise the core temperature of the body, thus using more energy and calories to bring it back down to its normal temperature. It does work – but making it out that this will work if you’re lying on the sofa does no one any favours. The amount of extra calories burned without physical exercise will be very slight.
The claim about it giving you results from all types of physical activity – well, it’s quite obvious that any physical activity is going to help you lose weight. It’s a bit of a non-claim, if we are honest.
The amount of caffeine in there, in the guarana, green tea leaf extract, and yerba mate extract will make some difference, as we know that has some effect on weight loss.

These quantities are correct per 3g serving of the supplement.
Yerba increases the risk of many cancers, and, alongside the other ingredients containing caffeine, can cause side effects such as increased need to urinate, heart palpitations, jitteriness, anxiety, disruption to sleep, and insomnia.

We would probably like this supplement a lot more if it wasn’t for the fact it contains yerba mate. Whilst effective to an extent, the potential side effects of cancer far outweigh any benefits. The rest of the ingredients are ok – they do work for some people, and the dosage is ok. In fact, the caffeine dosage is on the high side, which, although can cause some adverse effects for some people, makes it more likely to work in terms of weight loss.
What we don’t like is the lack of independent reviews of the supplement. Usually, when people like supplements, they shout about it in forums. We can’t find any mention of this on any British or American websites. You are also taking the risk of ordering something from Slovenia – to return it to there is costly, and you do not get the shipping fee back.
We do not recommend the SlimJOY Boot Burn Active XXL to our readers.
