Sweet Nothings Overview

What You Need To Know About Sweet Nothings

Sweet Nothings is a supplement in tablet form that you take to prevent sugar cravings. The sole ingredient is Adigam, better known as Gymnema Sylvester, which temporarily makes the tongue unable to taste sweet flavours such as chocolate and candies. So if sweets are your specific weight issue it may help to prevent overindulgence and cravings.

We have major concerns about the free trial offer from the official Sweet Nothings website that claims to give you a free bottle for the price of the postage. It sounds good but without any terms and conditions provided, it probably does come with strings attached.

What Are The Side Effects Of Sweet Nothings?

Side effects should not be an issue. However, if you suffer from diabetes you should seek advice from your doctor as it could interfere with medication.

How Much Does Sweet Nothings Cost?

Buy via Amazon and 1 bottle of 60 tablets costs $23.87, or $59.00 which includes fulfilment by Amazon. Confusingly, both these prices are from AvPac Health, the company behind this supplement. There is no explanation about why these prices are so different for exactly the same item.

Visit the Sweet Nothings website and it gets even more confusing. Here AvPac are offering a free trial for the price of the postage which is quoted as $1.99.

In truth, the postage is NOT $1.99. We were quoted $6.95. The so-called free trial comes with further free gifts of eBooks and discount eBooks. We don’t believe that AvPac is giving away their product for free and without any terms and conditions to see, in our opinion, this is likely to be a scam.

Our Verdict On Sweet Nothings

We are wary of Sweet Nothings. The supplement itself looks OK and if you struggle with a sweet tooth, you may find it helps. The tablets are mainly composed of filler ingredients, but with 11% of the formulation containing the active component Adigam, you may find it works as described or at least has some effect upon your taste buds. There is not much customer feedback, but the little that there is looks genuine and is mainly positive in tone.

Our main concerns lay with AvPac the company behind the supplement. There is no listed address beyond a Long Island PO Box, and the company’s sales model is very flawed. How could a genuine company afford to give away free samples of a whole free bottle of the product? And why does the official website urge you to sign up for the free sample just for the price of the postage, without expecting something in return?

The simple answer is that you will undoubtedly fall prey to an auto-ship scam or similar. The advertising states that it is not an auto-ship agreement, but as the advertising also states that shipping is $1.99 when it is in fact over $6.00, it is obvious that these claims don’t mean very much at all.

Here at the Diet Pills Watchdog, we have covered many different types of scam. We don’t trust companies that make “too good to be true” tempting offers because, in all the years of writing these reviews, offers like these have never worked out well for the customer! We don’t trust that this time will be any different!

We do not recommend Sweet Nothings to the Watchdog readers.

Sweet Nothings Key Features

Sweet Nothings is a tablet that is for one purpose only and that is to prevent sugar cravings. It contains Adigam as the sole active ingredient and comes with an added minty taste.

Adigam is derived from an Indian herbal extract called Madhunashini – the word means “sugar destroyer”, but is probably best known in the West as Gymnema Sylvestre which does show up in many weight loss supplements. According to research, it interferes with the body’s ability to taste sweetness. So if you struggle with the temptation of sweet treats, taking this supplement should block these urges and cravings.

Sweet Nothings Facts

  • Each bottle contains 60 tablets
  • Postal address is AvPac Health PO Box 14731 – Long Beach, CA 90853
  • Customer service phone number (949) 264-3118

When we first saw the Sweet Nothings website it triggered alarm bells. It looks like a scam site with powerful messages, shouty large text, and lots of promises about bonus free goods. Most worrying, there are red arrows located all down the page directing you to click on a special free sample offer. It seems that the company really want you to do this, but should you?

In our experience, free samples generally mean scams where the free sample turns out to be a lure to get you to sign up to an expensive and impossible to cancel auto bill agreement.

How to Take Sweet Nothings

  • Take as required
  • Because Sweet Nothings is completely safe, you can take as many tablets as you need to deal with your cravings
  • Effects last for around 30 minutes

Worryingly there are no terms and conditions publicised. In addition, the company seems to be sending out a whole full bottle of 60 Sweet Nothings capsules as a sample and nothing else. You can’t actually buy the supplement from the official website (although it is on sale via Amazon); your only option is the free trial offer.

We feel we are certainly being suckered into something here, as we have never ever seen a legitimate free sample offer that offers you a totally free product that you can’t actually buy from the site!

Sweet Nothings Concerns:

  • You could use up your supply very quickly
  • The free trial offer? How does this even work?
  • Conflicting information on the website
  • Pricing seems very weird with discrepancies on Amazon yet being given away free from the official website

At the head of the page is a man called Drew Avery – the face of the company and a self-styled Health Investigator. He is possibly the man behind this supplement and AvPac, although we cannot find any further details about this company.

Drew Avery co-hosted a fitness show in Texas for a couple of years, has been a model, and he shows up on YouTube video interviews talking about health and fitness, so may be known to some readers in the USA. Source

Despite Drew Avery being a minor celebrity, if you want to try Sweet Nothings, buying via Amazon is by far the safest bet!

Does Sweet Nothings Work?

It should work. According to research, Gymnema Sylvestre, Madhunashini, Gurmar, Cow Plant, or Adigam – just some of the names for this herb, can help block the absorption of sugars so may be a useful tool against diabetes and obesity.

However, it also has an immediate effect because it interferes with the ability to taste sweetness. So if you struggle with the temptation of sweet treats, taking this supplement should block these urges and cravings for around 30 minutes. According to scientific investigation,

“The herb’s impairment of sweet sensation is profound and dramatically alters the perception of sweetness in sugar, chocolate, and candy without altering the perception of the other primary tastes.”

Many of the clinical tests have been carried out using the herb in tea rather than in tablet form as here, so what is less sure is whether it will work as well as the natural ingredient.

Sweet Nothings does contain a lot of filler ingredients in the tablet because the weight of the tablet is 700mg, yet only contains 77mg of Adigam. That said, customers have noticed the sugar blocking effects.

What Are The Ingredients of Sweet Nothings?

Serving size is equal to one tablet (700mg). It contains one active ingredient.

  • Adigam (11%) (77mg): Adigam, Gymnema Sylvestre, Madhunashini, Gurmar, and Cow Plant are just some of the names of the same plant – a woody climbing shrub that grows in Africa and India. It is well known in Ayurvedic (traditional Indian) medicine where it is sometimes called the destroyer of sugar. It may have many benefits as a treatment for diabetes because it may affect the way the body processes sugar. It is best known for its effects upon taste buds and by blocking sucrose and sweet receptors, it temporarily makes sweet flavours tasteless.
  • Other ingredients: Sorbitol, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Calcium Stearate, Steviol, Glycosides, Sucralose.

Does Sweet Nothings Have Any Side Effects?

Side effects should not be an issue. However, if you suffer from diabetes you should seek advice from your doctor as it could interfere with medication.

Caution:
Not suitable for individuals under 18 or women who are pregnant or breast feeding, without medical supervision. Speak to your doctor first if you are taking prescription medication especially diabetes or blood sugar medication.

Are There Any Customer Reviews For Sweet Nothings?

Sweet Nothings is on sale via Amazon as well as the official website, and some Amazon customers have left feedback comments.

There are only 9 reviews at the time of writing with some of them dating back to 2016 so Sweet Nothings does not seem very popular. However most customer comments are positive,

I have NO self control over anything sweet or chocolate and was skeptical over this product but I can say it works 100%. . Could not believe I only ate 1 bite of a chocolate cookie which is a favorite of mine and anytime I have a cookie I can’t stop at just one I just wanted to eat 5 or 6 at a time!

Tried this today for the first time. It definitely worked! 60 seconds, then tried a soda. Took the sugar taste away immediately so I tried other things just to make sure. Completely amazed. This will help decrease my desire for sugar and in turn, weight loss. Great product.

Works pretty instantly. Not only reduces sweet cravings, but make you not want to eat anything at that moment. I will definitely continue using this product. I keep some at home and at work.

Not all customers are satisfied,

Waste of money

And,

Hated the taste. I tossed them.

Does Sweet Nothings Offer a Money-Back Guarantee?

Buy from the Amazon site and there is a 60-day money-back guarantee. The company also reached out to the customers who left negative comments offering a refund.

There is also a money-back guarantee offered on the official website. This is what it says:

“Sweet Nothings has a 100% 60 Day Money Back Guarantee! But, it won’t take you 60 days to know if Sweet Nothings works…it won’t take you 60 minutes…in fact, if you’re not convinced in just 60 seconds that Sweet Nothings has turned off your sweet tooth… we will gladly refund the $1.99 shipping!”

We are not sure we believe any of this!

Where Can I Buy Sweet Nothings?

You can only buy Sweet Nothings via Amazon.

You cannot buy this supplement directly from the official website, because it seems that the company are only giving away free samples.
