The Cleaner Women’s Formula is a detoxing pill to be taken over the course of 7 days. It is designed to not only act as a colon cleanse, but also to improve the health of the entire body. Available in both a men’s and women’s formula, it flushes out the bowels, working as a laxative over the course of the week.
However, is it safe to take, and are the side effects manageable? We investigate the ingredients and see what customers think of The Cleaner Women’s Formula.
Pros
Cons
With a huge number of ingredients which have either a laxative or diuretic qualities, it is unsurprising that this product works primarily as a laxative.
The various ingredients also supposedly have other properties, which include treating parasitic worms in the body, regulating menstrual cycle, improving acne, removing toxins, killing excess yeast in the body, and making it easier to cough up phlegm.
The individual quantities of each ingredient are not known, and many are herbal remedies that have limited or no clinical evidence to support them.
The most common side effects of The Cleaner Women’s Formula are loose stools, increased bowel movements, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. The severity of these side effects varies between individuals.
A bottle of The Cleaner costs $17.95, and the 14-day formula is $29.95.
The Cleaner Women’s Formula is manufactured by Century Systems. The official website states that Century Systems was set up in 1988, and specialises in “natural products for the improvement and health of the body”.

The Cleaner is not designed to be a weight loss aid, and is instead a detoxing pill to be taken over the course of 7 days. It is designed to not only act as a colon cleanse, but also to improve the health of the entire body.
The recommended way of taking The Cleaner is to take 4 tablets on the first night of the detox, and to take 4 tablets in the morning and 4 in the evening for the remaining 6 days of the detox.
Consumers are reminded to drink 8-10 glasses of water each day while detoxing because the ingredients can cause dehydration, thanks to their diuretic and laxative properties. The maximum number of capsules per dose is 8: using this quantity would make the 14-day bottle last for one 7 day period.
If stools become watery, stop taking until stool solidifies and restart with 1-2 capsules. It is generally recommended that the customer adjust their own dosage to suit their reactions to the pills.
One concern we do have with The Cleaner is that prolonged use of laxatives and diuretics can lead to electrolyte imbalances in the body. Electrolytes, including calcium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and sodium, regulate a number of body functions. An electrolyte imbalance can cause abnormal heart rhythms, weakness, confusion and seizures. Laxatives can also interfere with the absorption of medications, and so people being treated with prescription medications should consult their doctor before using The Cleaner or any other laxatives. Taking laxatives regularly can even lead to dependency and decreased bowel function.
According to websites that stock this supplement, The Cleaner Women’s formula is;
a powerful total internal cleansing support system. It includes organ and parasite cleansing in easy to swallow capsules. After use of the Cleaner®, clothes may fit loosely in the stomach area due to the elimination of waste.
The Cleaner is fast and powerful yet gentle enough to allow you to travel, work and continue your normal routine.
Customer reviews, in general, agree that The Cleaner Women’s Formula does work to flush out the bowels, working as a laxative over the course of the week. Many people do report that they lose weight whilst using the product, but as the official website points out, this is merely weight from body waste that has been removed, not fat loss.

The ingredients of The Cleaner Women’s Formula Proprietary Blend are as follows:
Customer reviews show that a range of side effects is possible.
Most commonly experienced are loose stools, increased bowel movements, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. The severity of these side effects varies between users. Dehydration can occur if not enough water is consumed each day whilst using the product. Other reported side effects include acne, constipation, hot and cold sweats, fatigue, a general lack of energy, headaches, bloating, gas, heart palpitations, and muscle cramps.
One consumer had a routine blood test a few days after using the 7-day Cleaner, and was informed that her Potassium levels were dangerously low, which accounted for her suffering from heart palpitations and muscle cramps whilst using The Cleaner. Excessive usage of laxatives can cause an imbalance in electrolytes
Some customers felt the side effects were so bad that “functional activity is impossible”.
There are numerous reviews for the Women’s Formula version of The Cleaner on Amazon and the other retail sites that sell The Cleaner.
The number of customers who have experienced unpleasant side effects is worrying. Whilst some customers try to pass this off in humorous anecdotes, it is clear that for many people, using The Cleaner is not a pleasant experience:
I woke to excruciating abdominal cramps. I attempted to go to the restroom on many occasions but to no avail and the cramps persisted!…. I was left feeling tired, fatigued, drained, and sweating hot. It has now been well over 24 hours since my last dosage and the effects are still there! I am frightened now to consume food or beverage for fear of the unknown repercussions! My face broke out from the releasing of the toxins (because I have never suffered from acne), and I am dehydrated beyond belief! My appetite is gone (possibly more from fear than lack of hunger). All and all I think it’s impossible not to loose weight or constantly expel gook out of your system. This herb will take you hostage!
However, even though many reviews mention various side effects, many of these same reviewers leave 4 or 5-star reviews, because at the end of the week they have lost weight, feel detoxed, and despite the side effects, the product acted just as described.
There are also some people who find fantastic results without any negatives such as abdominal cramping.
This product was wonderful. It worked without cramping my stomach and without urgency. I will definitely purchase again. I really helped jump start my weight loss plan.
Some customers also noticed benefits other than weight loss and increased bowel movements:
Without going into details I had some noticeable changes in my daily evacuations. After the 7 days I noticed not only a difference in my bathroom habits but the dark circles under my eyes were gone and I felt fewer aches and I seemed to have more energy.
However, other customers did not experience any results from using The Cleaner. This may be to do with the amount of water that they drank, as drinking little water whilst using a laxative can make stools painful to pass, and can even cause constipation in some cases.
This product did not work AT ALL for me. … Bought myself a bottle and I just finished the bottle two days ago and it didn’t do a thing to me.
A 60-day money-back guarantee is offered on The Cleaner Women’s formula.
The Cleaner Women’s formula can be bought from Amazon in two different sized bottles: 52 capsules, enough for a 7-day detox or 104 tablets, which is enough for 14 days of detox. This should be used as two separate 7-day detoxes for health reasons. A bottle of The Cleaner costs $17.95. The 14-day formula is $29.95.
The Cleaner can also be bought from The Vitamin Shoppe or from GNC.
Considering the number of side effects that have been reported, and the risk of electrolyte imbalances which can lead to serious side effects, it seems that using The Cleaner could be a greater risk to health than the possible benefits of removing toxins from the body. It is a glorified laxative, with a whole range of added ingredients that supposedly make it a whole body cleanse rather than just a colon cleanse. Many of these ingredients have been used in traditional Indian medicine, but they have been under-researched in general and may cause various side effects.
Weight loss is a side effect rather than the primary purpose of this detox tablet, and it is not a viable weight loss aid, as any weight that is lost is from the increased amount of bowel movements over the course of the week, as well as possible dehydration.
Finally, the worst part of The Cleaner is the inconvenience it will cause a user for a week or more. Customers suggest that the results can last for several days after the last tablets are taken, and advise to always be within close proximity to a toilet. Some even recommend taking a few days off work, to be in the comfort of their own homes. Even though some users reported as much as 10 lbs of weight loss, the amount of pain, inconvenience and discomfort it took to achieve this weight loss makes The Cleaner Women’s Formula a product not worth buying.
All factors considered we have to reject The Cleaner Women’s Formula.

I started taking the Cleaner for Women as suggested. First night 4 pills and I drank 1.5 liters of water. Woke up the next morning took another 4 pills and drank another 1.5 liters of water. Ended up urinating for almost 15 minutes before getting into the shower. Yes I’m eliminating without any problems and frequently throughout the day. During the day I drink another 1.5 liters of water and again before bed with 4 pills. I was so bloated I looked about 9 months pregnant. I woke up this morning with stomach cramps, nausea and the worst migraine. I don’t think I’m going to continue taking this product. I can barely see to read for side effects and I had to have my roommate right this comment for me.
It works but I also notes this site stated there was no money back guarantee, but there definitely us. It’s written right after the listing if all the ingredients
Ok so let me start by saying. My husband and I were excited about this cleanse. We started the cleanse on Dec 24th. 4 pills once. Day two started in with 4 pills twice, slightly loser stool but nothing to alarming. (We have done other cleanses before… did not work) Day 3…. 4:30am I wake up running to the bathroom! Diarrhea!!! Sickly feeling, NAUSEA!!! OMG! followed by constant diarrhea now and vomiting twice. Feels like the stomach flu. Sweats, shakes, pain, misery! I had to lay in bed literally for 24 hours and could not even move other then shuffling to the bathroom. Which was right in the bedroom thank goodness!!! OK so here is the deal people. You MUST MUST MUST drink plenty of water when on cleanses, do not I repeat do not eat wreckless or drink (alcohol)wreckless. I won’t lie I did both. Hubby ate wreckless (does not drink). So after I felt semi better following day mid day I was able to gather myself, was room down, lysol EVERYTHING (in case it was a flu bug) and shower and wash sheets towels and EVERYTHING just in case. Two days later guess who was also MAN DOWN! My hubby! Same symptoms. So 28th he got ill but shared previously her was having loose stools and did not decrease pills. I stopped them all together after that terrible experience and so did he. Fast forward we KNOW it was the pills because the children were all up in bed with us and did not get sick. Not a bug but Cleaning out bugs (parasites and crap) so here are my suggestions:
1. Do NOT eat stupid (holidays we can all be more indulging then usual)
2. Do not start on a holiday unless you will eat better and have discipline
3. Start with 4 and decrease to 2 twice a day. 4 twice a day was TOO MUCH!!!
5. DRINK DRINK DRINK THAT WATER!!!! YOU MUST!
6. BE PATIENT it will work even with 2 pills. (I think…. today is Jan 16th and I started back on 2 pills drank a big cup of water. We will see.)
The Cleaner WORKS! But pay attention to your own body and follow my instructions.
Peace.
