So What Is Torch Fat Burner and What Are The Ingredients?

Each serving of 3 capsules contains 885 mg of the Torch Fat Blend, and 1,225 mg of the Metabolism Accelerator Proprietary Formula. The ingredients used in each of these proprietary formulas are listed below. Because it is a proprietary formula, the individual quantities used are unknown.

Torch Fat Blend (885mg):

  • Conjugated Lenoleic Acid (Clarinol®): Conjugated linoleic acid may help to reduce body fat, but may not cause changes to body weight. Human studies of CLA have produced contradictory results, and it is described as not only a relatively poor fat burner, but also an unreliable one.

  • White Kidney Bean Extract (Phaseolous Vulgaris): One study in humans showed that participants who consumed white kidney bean extract, in addition to being on a multi-component weight loss programs (diet, exercise and behavioural intervention) lost more weight when compared to those who just followed the multi-component diet.
    Source:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17658120
  • Gymnema Sylvestre (Leaf): Several studies have shown that this herb can support healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Research is still in preliminary stages, but a few studies are publishing promising results.

  • Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl: There is some evidence that supplementation acetyl-l-carnitine can reduce body fat, although the strongest results were seen in the elderly. The ingredient also boosts energy levels, and is used to treat fatigue.
    Source:http://examine.com/supplements/L-Carnitine/
  • Rutaecarpine: This chemical comes from Evodia, and may reduce the effectiveness of caffeine, breaking it down quicker in the body.
    Source:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21468923
  • Bioperine®: This patented Black pepper extract increases the amounts of nutrients that are absorbed into the body in the digestive tract. It may also increase the absorption of various drugs, which may lead to potential side effects.

Metabolism Accelerator (1,225mg):

  • Bitter Orange Extract: Bitter orange peel has been proven to raise the metabolism and aid weight loss. However there are some concerns about its safety.
    Source:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22991491
  • Green Tea Extract 50%: Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins and caffeine both increase energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism slightly for few hours.
    Source:http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/70/6/1040.full
  • Caffeine: Numerous studies have shown that caffeine boosts energy levels and alertness, as well as mildly boosting the metabolism. The effects shown in studies are small, and some studies are inconclusive.
    Source:http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/weight-loss/expert-answers/caffeine/faq-20058459
  • Guarana Extract (Seed): A berry that is naturally high in caffeine, it is often an ingredient in energy drinks and diet pills.
  • Raspberry Ketones: Whilst there is a small amount of evidence that raspberry ketone can cause weight loss in rats, there have never been any human trials on the potential weight loss effects of raspberry ketone.
    Source:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/becky-hand/raspberry-ketones_b_2727943.html
  • N-Methyltyramine Hydrochloride: Theoretically, it increases lipolysis, although tests in rats found the opposite. Also known to increase cAMP, which plays a role in the metabolism.
  • Synephrine HCL: An active compound found in bitter orange extract, this stimulant raises the metabolism.
    Source:http://examine.com/supplements/Synephrine/
  • Rauvolfia Canescens Alpha Yohimbine (Rauvolfia Canescens): Yohimbine is one of the active compounds found in Rauvolfia Canescens; it is thought by some to increase rates of fat lipolysis, but there is mixed evidence from clinical studies.
  • Coleus Forskohlii (Forskolin): A plant belonging to the mint family that is thought to boost the metabolism. However, the clinical trials performed using this ingredient have shown no weight loss, even when the participants’ lean muscle mass increased and fat mass decreased.
    Source:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2129145/

The only individual ingredient quantity customers are provided with is that there is a total of 275mg of caffeine per 3 capsule serving.

So What Does All This Mean?

There are numerous stimulants in this diet pill. Yohimbine, bitter orange extract and synephrine have been associated with a wide variety of side effects, as listed below, which could prevent some groups of people from taking this diet pill.

Raspberry Ketone has no support from studies in humans to suggest that it might aid weight loss- at this stage, studies indicate it could help to reduce fat mass, but research is preliminary and only in rats or test tubes.

Green tea, caffeine, bitter orange extract, and white kidney bean extract are all proven weight loss aids, although, as mentioned above, some have better safety profiles than others. The only negative thing about the presence of white kidney bean extract in this diet pill is that the dose is not anywhere near the quantities used in successful clinical trials.

CLA is a poor and unpredictable fat burner, and there are some other ingredients with mixed clinical evidence to support them. The use of both Rutaecarpine and Bioperine together is unusual, as Rutaecarpine reduces the effectiveness of caffeine, whilst Bioperine increases the absorption rate of some ingredients, including caffeine and bitter orange extract.

Does Torch Fat Burner Have Any Side Effects?

Torch Fat Burner contains a long list of ingredients, some of which are associated with a variety of side effects. Because the product consists of two proprietary formulas, no individual ingredient quantities are known, and therefore it is difficult to establish just how likely side effects are.

The product contains both bitter orange extract and synephrine, which is extracted from bitter orange. Side effects associated with the use of Bitter Orange extracts include increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, fainting, and even heart attack and stroke in healthy patients.

The Mayo Clinic has recommended avoiding use of Bitter Orange extracts because in their opinion, the risk of using the product is not worth the pay-off of any potential weight loss.

The effects of synephrine and other bitter orange extracts are enhanced when combined with caffeine. Consuming large quantities of caffeine can lead to headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness and insomnia.

The potential side effects of consuming yohimbine include nervousness, irritability, insomnia, headache, skin flushing, anorexia, nausea, gastric distress, diarrhoea, vomiting, heart palpitations, tachycardia, dysuria, pain, increased blood pressure, dizziness, sweating, weight gain, constipation, and anxiety.

Caution:
Keep out of reach of children. Check with a qualified health care professional before taking this product, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, under years of age, have any known or suspected medical conditions, and/or taking any prescription or OTC medications including but not limited to, antidepressants, stimulants, allergy medications, and medications for high blood pressure and/or other cardiovascular conditions. Do not consume synephrine, phynelephrine, caffeine, or thyroid boosting compounds from other sources including but not limited to tea, soda, coffee, other dietary supplements and medications, or any other type of stimulant. Never exceed the recommended maximum dosage.

Any Torch Fat Burner Reviews From Customers?

Customers have left a huge number of reviews for this product on bodybuilding.com. Overall, the reviews are incredibly positive, although there are a few people who were disappointed with the product.

Love this product! I have been searching for a fat burners to use along with weight training to help me burn more fat. I read the ratings on this one and decided to give it a try. I hadn’t found anything since Oxy Elite Pro that helped me burn fat effectively. This doesn’t give me jitters or make me sweat and has made a noticeable difference since I bought it 2 months ago. I definitely recommend giving this product a try.

I have tried many fat burners. I am typically really sensitive to all other fat burners. I tend to get really sick and nauseous, jittery, etc. with this product I get the energy I am looking for without experiencing any jitters. My energy has lasted me all day. It suppresses my appetite to where I don’t totally forget to eat but I get full at the perfect timing. I have tried to also be more aware of the ingredients in the products I take. This product has s many natural ingredients! I have loved this product and I recommend it to everyone.

Ive using Torch for a couple weeks now and it has been working really well so far. Does a great job suppressing my appetite without causing me to drip sweating at work or making my heart feel like its going to explode. No jitters or side effects to speak of so far. Cant beat the price. Highly recommended.

Barely any energy boost and no results as far as aiding in weight loss, I thought maybe it was just me as sometimes you don’t react well with different products just because of body tolerances etc. I had asked my wife to try as well and she had no notable boost of energy or aided weight loss either. I always read reviews and appreciate the information from everyone.

So Does Torch Fat Burner Work?

The customer reviews and ingredients list suggests that this product does have some fat burning and metabolism boosting capabilities. Some of the ingredients may be ineffective or mild, but with such a wide variety of ingredients, the product will aid weight loss.

Whilst it does seem to be effective, there are also numerous potential side effects that could occur whilst using the product; if serious side effects occur, consumers should stop use of the diet pill immediately, and therefore the high risk of side effects would hinder the consumer’s weight loss.

The proprietary formulas used in the product also mean that it is not clear just how much of each ingredient is used in the diet pill.

Where Can I Buy Torch Fat Burner?

Torch Fat Burner is sold by numerous different online retailers, including direct from the manufacturer’s website.

HIT Supplements, the manufacturers of Torch Fat Burner, sell their product for $35.99 plus delivery. The product is also sold from bodybuilding.com, at a price of $39.99 per bottle. Occasionally, the website offers deals on Torch Fat Burner; At the time of writing, customers could purchase three bottles for the price of two. From Amazon, the product is available for $33.74, plus delivery charges.

What About A Guarantee

There is no money-back guarantee offered by the manufacturer. However, bodybuilding.com, who sell the product, have a comprehensive returns policy, often providing store credit where an outright refund is unavailable.

Watchdog Verdict

Overall, Torch Fat Burner from HIT Supplements appears to be a strong fat burner that has good reviews from customers.

However, looking at the ingredients used, it is clear that the product is made from a mixture of strong ingredients that could cause a variety of side effects, and a number of mild, unproven or just ineffective weight loss ingredients.

Some of the ingredients may also be present in insufficient quantities, such as white kidney bean; clinical studies show the ingredient should be dosed at 2000 mg per day, but it makes up a part of a proprietary formula of only 885 mg.

The high risk of side effects should put some customers off buying this product, especially if they have high blood pressure, other cardiac related health issues, or have experienced a sensitivity to stimulants in the past.

The lack of a money-back guarantee is not ideal. However, the product does represent fairly good value for money, retailing at less than $40 for a 45 day supply.

Overall, we would not recommend this product for our readers in general; whilst it may be suitable for some people, overall it is less than ideal.

  1. I have sent back the second package you sent without my permission . I did not subscribe to this and do not want it. Did nothing! You charged me 80 bucks for something I didn’t ask for. I want my money returned. This is crap. Another rip off in my opionion.

  2. I too thought I was buying a one time item, only to receive another unwanted or ordered bottle a month later…and no clear way to stop future shipments. Please stop any future auto shipments.

  3. This is a scam, I was told the price was $9.99 what i though was a one time charge, two months later i come to find out i was being charge $140 which turned into a monthly fee with $10.00 increments monthly. Very deceiving with no weight loss at all.

  4. I was very disappointed with customer service – I received one bottle of this in August but was charged over $250 since June when I ordered it. the ‘free trial’ is not free. You have to ship back within 18 days (how are you supposed to ‘try it’ and get it back within 18 days) to receive refund (at day 18 they charge you the $74) and then they want to charge you a restocking fee. This was a financial disaster for me.
