Original Trimspa contained a now banned ingredient until 2004 when supplements containing a controlled ingredient were banned in the USA because of the risks to health. When this happened Trimspa X32 was devised as an banned ingredient free version making it a very different product to the original supplement.
Trimspa was a diet supplement originally marketed as an appetite suppressant by Goen Technologies in the USA. Although today it is under new ownership and relatively unheard of, once this supplement had an extremely high profile and was advertised on prime time TV.
The Trimspa image was helped along by celebrity Anna Nicole Smith who is still the public face of the brand on its website advertising.
Original Trimspa (not the X32 version) contained a banned ingredient and worked in the way of all these type of diet pills. This means as a stimulant which increases heart rate, blood pressure and the metabolism plus an appetite suppressing effect. The ingredient was banned because of the vast number of side effects including heart damage and an increased risk of seizures.
When this happened, the company switched to marketing Trimspa X32.
Anna Nicole Smith was a one-time stripper and wannabee model. Her striking looks and breast implants caught the attention of Playboy giant Hugh Heffner and she was voted Playmate of the Year in 1993.
She became a model for clothing brands and had some success as an actress in the 90s. However many people around the world will remember her wedding photos after marrying 89 year old multi millionaire J Howard Marshall – 62 years her senior in 1994. He died in 1995 and then followed a protracted legal wrangle while she tried to claim his estate.
In the 2000s, Anna Nicole Smith suffered personal tragedy and her work dried up. As a result, she put on a lot of weight, which was much reported in the media. After trying original Trimspa and losing a lot of weight, she became the spokeswoman for the product.
Her before and after pictures are impressive and Anna Nicole Smith put her weight loss down to Trimspa which really boosted sales. A TV marketing campaign helped with her catch phrase “Trimspa Baby”. However, the ban on the previous product had already come into force so the Trimspa supplement that enabled Anna Nicola Smith to lose the weight was no longer the same product now being sold as Trimspa X32.
It all went wrong. In 2007, the company was fined $1.5 million dollars for making false claims about the benefits of Trimspa X32.
In the same year, Anna Nicole Smith died of a prescription drug overdose and by 2008, the Trimspa parent company (Goen Technologies) were bankrupt.
At their height, they had sales of $141 million, $17 million operating profits, and spent $10 million on advertising alone. This was a big company to go down.
In 2010, Trimspa X32 was bought by new owners NAYA IP, LLC who re launched Trimspa X32 in 2013. According to the product website, Trimspa X32 is made to the same recipe as before which has been unchanged for the last ten years.
The company are based in New Jersey:
NAYA IP, LLC
831-38 Route 10
Suite 247
Whippany, NJ 07981
Trimspa X32 contains Hoodia as its appetite-suppressing ingredient along with green tea extract, cocoa extract and caffeine.
Despite the hype, this supplement looks pretty standard and although Anna Nicole Smith looks like a glowing endorsement, it is important to remember that this is not the same product that she lost weight with.
With all this in mind it is not surprising that Trimspa X32 is a household name in the USA and comes with plenty customer evaluation and feedback. It is a brand that many people have still heard of.
To use Trimspa X32 you are advised to take one or two capsules before each meal.
The advertising claims that Trimspa X32 is “The Original Classic for Enhancing Weight Loss”.
True because Trimspa X32 was devised after the ban but most people will associate this product with original Trimspa, which contained this ingredient.
This impression is reinforced by the pictures of Anna Nicola Smith, which still feature strongly on the website, including her before and after photos.
Statements like “The Legend is Back” further this impression.
The company say that this is the “same formula” and it is a little tricksy. Although the advertising makes it clear that Trimspa X32 is banned ingredient free version and claims Hoodia Gordonii as the active ingredient, it is easy to see the pictures of Anna Nicola Smith and believe this is the same product which helped her.
Although the banned ingredient was extremely dangerous for health but proven to work for weight loss whereas Hoodia has been discredited by the medical profession and will not do much at all.
According to the advertising,
TRIMSPA X32 supplements are clinically demonstrated to boost weight loss results when compared to a program of dieting and exercising alone
Trimspa is an appetite suppressant which contains proprietary brand X32 a branded formula plus chromium. The exact quantities of the branded formula are not given.
X32 Proprietary blend which contains the following ingredients.
Hoodia – is advertised as the principle ingredient and now it has been proven not to work it is hard to see how this supplement will work either. Some of the other ingredients look good and may promote health but we cannot tell exactly how much of anything is contained in the formula.
Green tea does contain caffeine so you may get a very mild stimulant effect depending on how much green tea is included in the supplement.
There appear to be very few side effects, according to customers. Many consumers have mentioned the lack of stimulant side effects and this supplement appears safe. Hoodia has caused side effects in clinical testing including itchiness and nausea but this does not appear to be a common reaction here.
Caution: Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding. Do not take if you are on any other medication without seeing your doctor.
Yes, plenty of people have tried this supplement and there is a mixed bag of opinion.
One customer reported;
Trimspa doesn’t do much…. but it helps a little bit
This customer went on to say that,
The good thing is you don’t get sick or jittery at all.
Some customers have been disappointed though.
I took this exactly as directed for months and never lost even a single oz.
However many customers have been pleased with it and have reported only positive features.
I think it’s a great product. I did not take it for an extended period of time but I do feel like it was helpful in weight loss.. Also, there aren’t any side effects like rushed heart rate or anything. It’s great
It appears to work best with dietary and lifestyle changes;
I took Trimspa for about 2 months, and with an exercise program and eating right I lost about 14 pounds.
Possibly, it may work a bit. According to many customers, it has helped them lose some weight especially when combined with dietary changes. The ingredients look safe and appear to be side effect free. This supplement may offer some support even if it is just as a placebo.
You can buy Trimspa direct from the product website. Each bottle of Trimspa X32 contains 90 capsules.
When you buy two bottles of capsules you get the third bottle free for $59.90 (interestingly buying one bottle only is not an option) plus $3.95 shipping to US addresses. International customers need to contact the company to find out the cost of shipping abroad.
Buyers should be warned that there is a “preferred customer” auto ship program which automatically sends you a new bottle of Trimspa X32 every month for $29.95 plus $3.95 shipping and handling.
We do not advise you to sign up to auto ship plans unless you are fully aware of the terms and conditions, be wary that they can sometimes be very difficult to cancel.
Trimspa X32 is sometimes available via Amazon.com but at the time of writing unavailable.
There is no money-back guarantee on offer.
Trimspa X32 is an interesting diet supplement with some powerful advertising. We find it a bit tasteless that Anna Nicole Smith is still being used to advertise this slimming pill long after her death but she certainly looks good in the pictures.
The supplement itself does not look that bad and some people have felt that it has helped them lose some weight.
We feel the major problem with Trimspa X32 is that it is just not quite good enough. The principle ingredient is Hoodia, which is proven not to work, and we feel that the company behind Trimspa X32 is just cashing in on the name and past glories.
Our verdict is that Trimspa X32 is not quite up to scratch and an interesting back story is not enough to make it worth buying. Therefore we have no other choice but to reject this supplement.
Thousands of customers have cut the fat with this fast and powerful thermogenic fat burner. Can suppress appetite, boost energy levels and elevate mood without the jitters.
