The makers of Ultimate Burn describe ephedra as the most effective weight loss supplement in history! However the FDA banned it in 2004 for supplement use because of its dangers to health. So are Schwartz labs really getting away with marketing a controlled substance? And if ephedra really is so popular, how come nobody appears to have bought this supplement?
Fat burning diet pills come in all shapes and sizes and can vary from a simple caffiene pill combined with some antioxidant rich ingredients to something that may see you climbing the walls and strung out on stimulants.
Ultimate Burn is a diet pill that looks to be more into the latter category and comes with a warning on the label that advises you that “this product is a hot as hell”.
It contains several stimulant ingredients including caffiene, Citus Aurentium and Methyl Synephrine as well as ingredients believed to affect your thyroid hormones such as Acacia Rigula , Guggelsterones and more.
It looks strong and the ingredients are in high amounts. According to the advertising,
This formula is designed create the ultimate fat burning environment and deliver incredible results fast.
However the Ultimate Burn star ingredient is 27mg of ephedra extract which the product advertising says is:
The most effective weight loss supplement in history.
Could not stay banned for long.
This is not actually true. The fact is that ephedra supplements were banned from sale in the USA in 2004 and are still banned to this day. There have been no changes to the law.
The FDA brought this ruling into force in 2004 following overriding evidence of adverse effects and deaths that ephedra supplements were known to cause. These included heart attacks, increased risk of stroke and other associated problems. This ban has not been cancelled so it is strange that Schwartz labs are now claiming to be selling Ultimate Burn as an ephedra supplement.
However, things are not always as they appear. Ephedra after all is a natural plant which grows in both the US and China and there are numerous different varieties.
The important thing to remember about the ephedra ban is that this referred to the substance contained in this natural herb called ephedrine, not the plant itself.
In many cases, so called legal ephedra is derived from Ephedra Nevadensis a native American variety which was used by the Mormons to make tea. It does not contain ephedrine and has no relevance to weight loss but the ephedra name is enough to make it desirable for supplement advertising.
The Ultimate Burn product information does not specify the type of ephedra used in this supplement, but most diet pills that today claim to contain ephedra are using this harmless variety and simply trading on the name.
Take (2) capsules, 1-3 times a day and ensure you drink plenty of water.
The company behind Ultimate Burn is Schwartz Laboratories who are based in Cincinnati. They sell a rang of their own supplements including Growth Hormone HGH – which they claim is made using real growth hormone (derived from the urine of pregnant women – although they do not mention this fact) and believed to benefit anti ageing.
They also make Protein Pancake Mix – a pancake mix with added protein plus a wide range of vitamin and protein supplements for general health , body building and weight loss. Schwarz Laboratries also carry out custom manufacturing for other supplement companies.
According to the advertising…
Schwartz Laboratories has left no stone un-turned when it comes to research and development of this next-generation fat burner.
They go onto explain,
The purest grade ephedra, containing actual ephedra alkaloids, provides the cornerstone to this amazing formula.
Quality is crucial to proper effectiveness and Schwartz delivers you the finest ephedra on the market.
This is nonsense. Ephedra supplements are banned by the FDA and with good reason because they were dangerous and caused common and harmful side effects even death in some cases.
Ulitmate Burn is a fat burning diet pill. Each serving is equal to two capsules. Ingredients list refers to serving size and not capsule contents.
This supplement contains a high number of ingredients and may cause numerous side effects. There is a cocktail of adrenaline boosting stimulants as well as some weird ingredients thrown in which do not seem to have any relevance to weight loss.
This formula is untried and as far as we know untested. Many of the ingredients scrape through just on the side of legal and we don’t think this supplement looks safe. Funnily enough the ephedra probably is safe but it probably will not have any effect.
It seems that Schwarz have devised a fairly strong looking diet pill and added together a hotch potch of stimulants that are supposed to mimic ephedra. However the synephrine ingredients come with some equally unpleasant side effects, and just because they are currently legal does not mean they are safe.
Zero feedback for this supplement so we cannot bring you any true life experiences. However judging by the ingredients list you can expect side effects.
These may include:
Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding.
Do not take if you suffer from a medical condition related to heart or blood pressure.
Avoid if you have a thyroid related condition, glaucoma or any history of mental disorders such as depression.
Do not take in combination with prescription medication because of the risk of interactions and discontinue use if you experience side effects. See you doctor for further advice.
Do not take if you are sensitive to stimulants including caffiene.
If there are, we were unable to find them.
We don’t think that this supplement will work for weight loss. However it may work as a stimulant so this may help you may reduce your appetite. Most people find that being under stress takes away hunger pangs so it may have some effect.
The heat complex part of the formula does not look very convincing. When taken in sufficient quantities, research has indicated that capsaicoinds, the compound that causes the fiery sensation of chilli peppers, increases the metabolism and promotes fat burning. One clinical test carried out in Thailand found that after eating a whopping 5g of chilli peppers (ouch)the metabolism was increased for 30 minutes after ingestion.

We are not very impressed with Ultimate Burn. This supplement comes with some frankly silly advertising that claims the formula contains ephedra, a banned and dangerous ingredient, that according to Schwartz could not stay banned for long. Total nonsense Ephedra is banned and there has been no change to this.
Some of the ingredients are a matter for concern. The Synephrine derivatives including Acacia Rigidula are known for dangerous side effects around the heart and blood pressure and this supplement will affect your central nervous system. It is important to remember that the diet pills industry is largly unregulated and just because ingredients are legal this does not mean they are safe. Has this formula ever been tested? It is unlikely.
Ultimate Burn does not seem popular nor well known. It is hard to find anyone who has taken it and there does not appear to be any customer feedback. It is an easy decision, we reject Ultimate Burn. It just does not look good enough or safe enough to make it onto our approved list.
