What Consumers Really Think About Diet Pills

Finding the right information about Diet Pills can be a seemingly impossible task for the uninitiated. Simply getting the right advice from honest sources, with no hidden agenda can be hard enough. Add to this the fact that there are so many scams and low quality sites, it’s no wonder that people get frustrated.

We wanted to get to the bottom of this once and for all and find out what you, the consumers, really think about diet pills. By doing this then we can bring you what you want, in the way you want.

So the only way to do this was to get out there and ask the real public exactly what they thought. We set loose Kelly, our intrepid reporter, with her camera team and spent a couple of days finding out what people really think.

What Did We Find Out?

To be honest the reaction was worse than we thought.

Despite so many people wanting to lose weight every year, and up to 80% of people looking for an effective, low cost solution they could use at home, there is still a massive miss-trust of the diet pill industry.

The main concerns we got from people were:

  • Many people think buying diet pills on the Internet could be a scam.
  • Most are put off by the amount of low quality websites flogging diet pills.
  • Many people have heard mixed reports over whether they work or not.
  • They wouldn’t know where to go to get honest advice.

In many ways this didn’t surprise us. When we first set the Diet Pills Watchdog up it was mainly for these very reasons. We could see with our own eyes exactly what was happening.

Everywhere we looked there were really low quality sites built by amateurs who were then trying to offer advice as if they knew what they were talking about.

So What Can Be Done About the Problems?

Because the Internet has exploded faster the Authorities are struggling to keep up, which means the scammers are usually one step ahead.

It is slowly changing but as long as there is big money to be made, then the crooks will try everything they can to get their slice of the pie.

It is hard to get hard and fast figures but some of the research we have looked at suggests the Diet Pill and weight loss market can be worth up to $3 Billion per year! With numbers like this then it’s clear to see that the scams will continue for a long time yet.

Personally we would love to see far more action from the Authorities, both in the way the scams are dealt with (by being much speedier) and the way existing products are examined and the claims verified. It is here where the problem lies because at the moment the beauty of the Internet is that there are no borders and freedom of speech is readily available.

In essence there is no singular Authority that has worldwide control over what can and can’t be said. In one respect this protects the freedoms but on the other hand it means that the conmen can only be controlled in the Country they are actively trading in.

This has been pretty good in the USA with a number of high profile cases where the scammers have been fined multi-millions of dollars for ripping of the public. We are now finding that these same guys are now hitting other countries now, with a big interest recently in the UK in particular.

So How Can I Protect Myself?

If you are reading this far, then luckily you are in the right place. We understand how the whole Diet Pill industry really works and we are probably unique in being the only Diet Pill review site that has the interests of the public at heart, as the primary goal.

We set up our own unique 6 step rating system which allows us to give an objective rating system to all the products we look at. If a product falls short of any of these points then it can only be rejected:

  • Full Ingredient Profile and Information
  • Clinical Studies
  • Free From Side Effects
  • Reputable Manufacturer With Complete Details Revealed
  • Real Customer Testimonials
  • Full Guarantee

We also take several other factors into consideration, so even if the manufacturer can meet these criteria they can still be rejected.

For example if there is any sort of “free trial” to get you to try the product it is instantly rejected. We have seen so much misery caused by this scam that it could still be the greatest product in the world but if it uses a trial to get you to buy then it is history.

We do this as the “free trial” has been the biggest scam in the Diet Pill world, and the sooner it is wiped our completely the sooner consumers can begin to trust the whole industry.

What About All the Low Quality Sites Out There?

One of the impressive things about the Internet is that it gives anyone with a computer and Internet connection the ability to have a voice. The downside is that literally anyone can set a website up and either start flogging diet pills themselves or recommend products to others.

This will be impossible to police as the ultimate test of how good a website is, is totally subjective. What we all think quite rightly differs from one person to another and so it should remain.

However, the trust of the consumer is paramount. A high percentage of people think there are too many “low quality” websites so shouldn’t those who have some control in this area clan it up a little?

Will People Ever Trust the Diet Pill World?

Good question, and one we have asked ourselves many times. As we have shown the only way is to have a rating system like the one we have developed.

People really are looking for honest help and advice when choosing a Diet Pill, so what better place to find it then the Diet Pills Watchdog. You can see the full list of Approved diet pills HERE.
