Manufactured by Omega Pharma, XLS Medical Appetite Reducer is designed to increase stomach contents, which is said to reduce the amount of food that can comfortably be consumed. The main ingredient is Glucomannan, which is clinically proven to aid with weight loss. Over time, the reduced calorie intake helps to reduce food portion sizes and lessen the chances of snacking between meals.
Pros
Cons
With a solution the manufacturers claim can control excessive appetite using a safe, natural fibre, we see if this “appetite reducer” is the answer to less calories.
By taking the “Appetite Reducer” capsules prior to eating your meal should help to increase stomach contents, which is said to reduce the amount of food that can comfortably be consumed. Over time the reduced calorie intake helps to reduce food portion sizes and lessen the chances of snacking between meals.
Delaying gastric emptying helps to maintain a more level blood glucose level, avoiding the peaks and crashes means you reduce the changes of an energy crash after eating a large meal. This is often the trigger to reach for the sugary snacks to boost energy levels again!
In the ideal scenario, such practice would help to form a habit of reduced dietary intake so that you eat healthy meal sizes and less likely to overeat.
This is all well and good providing you consume sufficient amounts of this high-density fibre to work. Without knowing the amount in this supplement it’s impossible to tell if XLS Medical Appetite Reducer will do as it says, reduce your appetite!
Whilst the manufacturers claim that there are no known side effects, some consumers have reported feeling bloated and having stomach cramps with similar ingredients that act in the same way, such as Glucomannan and Konjac Root.
Boots sell XLS Medical Appetite Reducer priced at £10 for 30 capsules.
XLS Medical Appetite Reducer is manufactured by Omega Pharma who produces skin care and health products and is based in Belgium. Although the company owns around 2,000 brands they are better known by their flagship product, XLS Medical Fat Binder.
This brand is prominently in the media spotlight at the moment, most likely to build up exposure before the New Year “weight loss season”. If you’re based in the UK you cannot fail to notice the marketing of the “Fat Binder” alternative, with prime time TV adverts shown most days.
You are recommended to take 2 to 3 capsules each day with water around 30 minutes before your main meals.
XLS Medical Appetite Reducer forms part of the “XLS Medical” brand of weight loss supplements by Omega Pharma. There are three supplements in the range, including the already mentioned XLS Medical Fat binder and lastly XLS Medical Carb Blocker. They all use the same branding, which immediately gives you the impression they are pharmaceutical clinical products. They are all available over the counter without a prescription from your doctor.
XLS Medical Appetite Reducer claims to be a natural product designed to reduce appetite, cravings and compulsive eating habits.
It’s said to do this with the aid of clinically proven and patented ingredient by helping you to feel full after eating, helping to control appetite when hunger sets in!
Taken with a low-calorie diet and regular physical activity, this supplement claims to be a side effect free way to control and lose weight. In fact claims of losing an average of 2 1/2 kg weight loss within 2 months are made by XLS Medical!
There are plenty of studies showing the benefits of Konjac Root and similar high-density fibres in promoting weight loss predominantly by increasing satiety and stabilising blood glucose levels.
In 8 weeks, the Amorphophallus konjac group experienced a mean weight loss of 2.50kg compared to a mean gain of 0.68kg in the placebo group
In fact the study referenced by Redusure(TM) is taken from research in 1984 into the effects of Glucomannan on obese patients (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6096282), whereby 1g doses daily were taken by the test group. Both the test and placebo groups were instructed not to change their diet or exercise patterns throughout the study.
This is a common problem we see when reviewing diet pills containing this particular ingredient, all too often insufficient amounts are consumed for any significant effect to be noticed. So be warned, referencing clinical studies doesn’t mean that the supplement contains the same amounts!
So in summary, with no indication of ingredient amounts, it’s impossible to tell how effective Appetite Reducer is.
Its ingredients are scientifically proven to aid weight loss and you are covered by a full 60-day money-back guarantee from a trusted company, making Phentatrim a very popular choice in the diet world.

This supplement contains a patented ingredient called Redusure, which is produced by InQpharm a pharmaceutical company that researches and develops a number of compounds. The company own the trademark, manufacturer and distribute it worldwide.
This was encouraging knowing a pharmaceutical company is behind the main active ingredient but unfortunately, there is no indication of the ingredient amounts used in XLS Medical Appetite Reducer!
Well, in any case let’s take a look at what’s inside this supplement:
The big positive with supplements like this is that they contain no stimulants, so you are not going to experience those jittery side effects often associated with caffeine and similar ingredients.
Whilst the manufacturers claim that there are no known side effects, some consumers have reported feeling bloated and having stomach cramps with similar ingredients that act in the same way, such as Glucomannan and Konjac Root.
There is a distinct lack of reliable consumer reviews for this supplement. Despite selling on Amazon, no customers have given any feedback.
With no testimonials on the official website, it’s impossible to gauge how truly effective consumers have found it. This suggests it’s either a new supplement (which it’s not), it’s an overlooked supplement or simply not too effective!
There appears to be no money-back guarantee on offer from the manufacturer, although there may well be one depending on the retailer. Of course, the standard returns policy and distance selling regulations will apply.
Boots sell XLS Medical Appetite Reducer for £6.66 for 30 capsules.
To be honest, it was hard to get excited about this product!
With little information available, we simply felt this product was severely lacking. There is no doubt that Omega Pharma is pushing their flagship product and so it’s not surprising information and exposure of XLS Medical Appetite Reducer is somewhat scarce.
There is little doubt in our mind that this supplement is the weakest of the products in the XLS Medical range. If you’re looking to reduce calorie intake then we would suggest looking at XLS Medical Fat Binder or its cheaper alternative Proactol Plus.
In consideration of our findings, we do not recommend XLS Medical Appetite Reducer.

I’ve been talking the XLS medical and have lost a stone in three weeks and had no side effects at all.
As anyone got side affects. I started taking them a few days now. I my tummy feels like and sounds like it’s full of wind. And I can’t stop breaking wind. And the other I’ve got diarrhoea (if that’s how u spelt it). I be had a few close calls now. They better work with the wind and the runs.
I think x l s medical was good ive lost 2 stone since ive been on it Gerry mears
I have only been using XLS Appetite Reducer for 4 days so it is early days but I am most hopeful.
I have lost 1 kilo because It seems to have helped me to control my eating.
My appetite was reduced by day 3 when I nearly gave up because I didn’t think it was working.
I have tried so many diets including the high fat low carb diet recently and put on 4 kilos so I am desperate to find something that works for me.
I’m so hoping that XLS Appetite Reducer continues to work for me .
Hi i am on Xls medical appetite reducer and i find it brilliant, i am on it over a week and all the compulsion to binge eat is go ne.. Iv lost half stone in a week without dieting. Iv tried hundreds of diet supplements over the years and this is by far the best..
I take XLS Appetite Reducer and have found that it meets my needs on several levels. I take 3 capsules around midday, have a busy, irregular schedule and am not distracted by hunger pangs. When I eat, I can be comfortably full with small amounts of food. I have noticed that I don’t have problems with shakiness due to low blood sugar. Another pleasant and welcome side effect is that the root controls IBS symptoms! I have used Glucomannan but must take 8 or 9 capsules to get the same results as the XLS capsules. Granted, XLS does not reveal the amount of Konjac each capsule contains, and I have noticed that some days I need to take more than on other days, but I prefer the XLS product. I think konjac root works, whether it’s the XLS Redusure or Glucomannan.
