There is supposedly a clinical trial that lends support to the effectiveness of Zenoctil. The problem is, the information provided by InQPharm, the company behind Zenoctil, conflicts with the actual published study, and the full details of that have not even been released. Zenoctil seems difficult to purchase; there is some limited availability in Malaysia, but that’s about it. There is no money-back guarantee and very little ingredient information.

Pros

  • Some clinical support

Cons

  • No money-back guarantee

Having a clinical trial to support the use of certain ingredients is incredibly important for diet pills, as it helps to assure potential customers that the product will work as advertised. However, it is also important that these trials are conducted professionally, and that the full results of the trial are published, to allow clarity and accuracy. Zenoctil has supposedly been studied in a clinical trial, but the numbers just don’t add up, and actively differ between different reports of the study.

Below, we take an in-depth look at Zenoctil to see what benefits this weight loss supplement actually offers consumers.

Zenoctil Overview

What you need to know about Zenoctil

Zenoctil is a weight loss supplement that is manufactured by InQPharm. It is seemingly only available in Malaysia, and even there is has limited availability, with numerous online retailers listing it as out of stock or “low in stock”. The ingredient blend has clinical support to suggest it would aid weight loss, but the ingredient quantities are not listed at all, making us question the strength of the supplement.

What are the side effects of Zenoctil?

There are only four active ingredients in Zenoctil, but all of them could potentially cause a range of side effects.

Green Coffee Bean and green tea both naturally contains some caffeine; Consumption of caffeine can cause a variety of side effects, including headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, heart palpitations, increased urination, dehydration, jitteriness, dizziness, and insomnia.

There is also an amino acid in Green Coffee Bean called homocysteine that is associated with an increased risk of heart disease. Green tea can also cause constipation.

Banaba contains some compounds that could increase the absorption of caffeine, increasing the possibility of side effects occurring. Banaba can also affect blood sugar levels, and so may not be suitable for diabetics. Diabetics should consult their doctor before taking Banaba, and should only take it with their doctor’s approval and supervision.

Garcinia Cambogia can cause some side effects including nausea, digestive tract discomfort, and headache. Its long term safety is unknown, as clinical studies typically focus upon short term use of up to 12 weeks.

How much does Zenoctil cost?

It appears to be quite difficult to buy Zenoctil online, and many of the websites that used to stock it report that it is no longer available or that it is out of stock. The product may still be available in Malaysia, where the product is manufactured.

The only website we could find it listed as in stock is Watsons, a pharmacy chain located in Malaysia. The website states that the product is “low in stock”. They offer two packs of 60 capsules and one pack of 20 capsules in a bundle deal (140 capsules total) for RM218.04 (about $53).

Zenoctil Key Features

Zenoctil is a weight loss supplement that will supposedly act as a thermogenic fat burner. It contains Xanitrol, a patented blend of four compounds (that individually are actually very common in diet pills), green tea, green coffee bean, banaba, and Garcinia Cambogia.

Zenoctil Key Points

  • Manufactured by InQPharm

Zenoctil is manufactured by InQPharm, an international company who have offices in Malaysia. They describe themselves as a life sciences company “developing health solutions that combine Science, Nature and Technology for successful modern lifestyles”.

Directions for use are as follows: Take 2-3 capsules 30 minutes before each main meal. Do not exceed 6 caplets a day.

InQPharm can be contacted through their official website.

Zenoctil Concerns:

  • No money-back guarantee
  • Not widely available (limited availability in Malyasia)
  • No ingredients quantities provided (not even proprietary formula)

What does Zenoctil claim to do?

The manufacturers provide the following description of the product’s benefits:

Zenoctil™ is a clinically tested fat burner (thermogenic agent). It is made from natural ingredients using a non-drug formula. With no known harmful side effects, Zenoctil is safe for long-term use.

Zenoctil™ is the only fat burner that contains Xanitrol™, a patented compound of essential bioactives from extracts of commonly used food sources. Zenoctil™ helps to burn stored body fat and prevents excess fat storage. It also helps to reduce stress associated with dieting while maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Zenoctil™ is a safe and effective way to burn fat and sustain weight loss.

InQPharm, the manufacturers of this supplement, also describe the supposed benefits of the individual ingredients used in their patented formula:

  • Garcinia Cambogia: “Its main active ingredient is Hydroxycitric acid (HCA)… HCA enhances the function of Zenoctil™ as it is a powerful thermogenic agent that prevents excess carbohydrates from being stored as fat in the body.”
  • Green Tea Extract: “The proprietary extract from dried green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), contains the most potent and effective concentrations of Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), L-Theanine and caffeine that promote fat oxidation (Thermogenesis). The high concentration of L-Theanine functions as a stress reducing agent that enhances alertness and relaxation.”
  • Green Coffee Extract: “The extract from the coffee bean of the arabica species contains polyphenols, a standardised amount of chlorogenic acid and caffeine. Chlorogenic acid helps to maintain normal glucose metabolism and promote healthy insulin levels, thus effectively controlling appetite and food cravings.”
  • Banaba Extract: “Obtained from the dried leaves of Lagerstromeia speciosa, the standardised Banaba extract contains Corosolic acid. Corosolic acid helps to maintain normal glucose metabolism and promote healthy insulin levels, thus effectively controlling appetite and food cravings.”

Does Zenoctil work?

The manufacturers of Zenoctil do not release any ingredient quantities at all, even the amount found in the proprietary formula. This makes it harder to establish whether or not this product would be effective at aiding weight loss.

The manufacturers state that this supplement has been clinically tested, and cite a clinical trial on their official website (Kumar KMP, Ganapathi B, Reddy S, Idiculla J and Hegde S. A double blind, randomised placebo controlled trial of Xanitrol™ in reducing body weight of overweight and mildly obese subjects). However, there is no evidence outside of the Zenoctil website that this study ever took place; it has not been published in any journal and is not referenced anywhere else. On clinicaltrials.gov, which provides a record of clinical trials, there is a study called “Efficacy and Safety of Zenoctil in Reducing Body Weight” which was sponsored by InQPharm; however none of the weight loss figures here match the numbers provided on the Zenoctil website. There are several possibilities; they could be completely different studies, it could be a mistake, or the company have just invented statistics to put on their official website in order to sell their supplement.

Without reliable clinical trial data for the combined ingredients, we have to rely upon clinical trial data regarding the individual ingredients used in Zenoctil.

Garcinia Cambogia is seemingly a fairly unpredictable weight loss aid. In one study that is often misquoted, the participants who took Garcinia Cambogia did lose weight whilst on the trial, but the placebo-taking group actually lost significantly more weight than the Garcinia Cambogia-taking group. There are also studies that show no changes in metabolism, appetite or weight loss whilst using Garcinia Cambogia. At best, Garcinia Cambogia could aid weight loss in some people, but its mechanisms are not well understood, and it seems to be highly unpredictable at best.

Green Coffee Bean and Green Tea both contain some naturally occurring caffeine, which could increase energy levels and slightly increase the consumer’s metabolic rate temporarily. However, it is unknown how much caffeine in present in this supplement. Green Tea can also increase thermogenesis thanks to the EGCG content, which can increase calorie burn and help to aid weight loss.

Banaba is thought to be a mild carbohydrate blocker and may increase the effects of caffeine. However, there are no studies that look into Banaba’s weight loss potential in detail.

Overall, Zenoctil’s ingredients could theoretically cause some weight loss, but without knowing ingredient quantities, we are far from optimistic.

Zenoctil Ingredients

The ingredients found in Zenoctil are detailed below. Zenoctil contains a patented blend of ingredients called Xanitrol, which consists of a proprietary blend of “unique extracts” from four ingredients, Garcinia Cambogia, Banaba leaves, Green Tea and Green Coffee. Because it is a proprietary blend, no individual ingredient quantities are provided.

  • Garcinia Cambogia: Test tube and animal research suggests that HCA, the active compound in Garcinia Cambogia, may be helpful in weight loss because of its effects on metabolism. However, numerous studies in humans have found it has no effect upon either appetite or metabolic rate. Source
  • Banaba leaves: This plant extract may help to lower blood sugar levels, which may help with weight loss efforts. Banaba appears to act as a mild carbohydrate blocker, as it contains compounds that can inhibit the absorption of carbohydrates from the intestines. More research is needed to see whether this effect translates into weight loss or not. Source
  • Green Tea: Green tea is high in a group of antioxidants called catechins. Studies have suggested that catechins increase thermogenesis in the body, whilst caffeine increases energy expenditure by boosting the metabolism slightly for few hours. Source
  • Green Coffee: Contains caffeine. Whilst it was thought that this ingredient was a significant aid in weight loss, the relevant research has been discredited as it was fraudulent. Currently there is no evidence that it aids with weight loss more than any other source of caffeine. See our article for more details.

Zenoctil Customer Feedback

We struggled to find any customer reviews for Zenoctil online. There are some customer testimonials on the official website. Customer testimonials are inherently biased because they have been selected by the manufacturers to present the product in the best possible light.

Thanks to Zenoctil™! I can lose more weight than just doing physical activity by itself.

I feel healthier after losing weight. Thanks to Zenoctil!

Lost 10kg and 20cm on waistline.
Puan Nurul, 28 years old

I am so thrilled, I’d like to share my experience. I can’t believe I could lose my fat belly and trim off 2 inches from my waistline in just 2 months! I’ve been using Zenoctil™ and I have dropped 3 kilos and about 4% of my body fat. From a size 16, I now fit a size 14. It’s like a dream that needs to continue as I still want to lose more fat. I’ve been enjoying the evenings out with my friends cycling around the neighbourhood. It’s nice to feel light and I look forward to getting lighter. I find that I could do more activities too because I seem to have high energy levels. I look forward to outdoor activities like the plan to go hiking in the woodlands with my friends this summer.

Zenoctil Money-Back Guarantee

There is no money-back guarantee on offer for this product, as it not sold directly by the manufacturers. The returns policies of individual retailers that sell this product may vary.

Where To Buy Zenoctil

It appears to be quite difficult to buy Zenoctil online, and many of the websites that used to stock it report that it is no longer available or that it is out of stock. The product may still be available in Malaysia, where the product is manufactured.

Watchdog Verdict

We are not hugely impressed by Zenoctil. The manufacturers state that there is clinical support for the formula used in Zenoctil, but the information provided on the official website actively conflicts with the results of a trial published on clinicaltrials.gov. This is very suspicious, especially as the cited study is not published in any journal, and the full details of the study have not been released. The manufacturers also fail to provide any ingredient quantities, or even the amount found in the proprietary formula.

The product has incredibly limited availability, with many websites listing it as out of stock. It appears to only be available in Malaysia. There is no money back guarantee offered on the product.

There are no independent customer reviews for this product, but the company have added some customer testimonials to their website.

A single box contains just 60 capsules, and as consumers are instructed to take 6 capsules a day, a single bottle will only provide a 10 day supply. This is both inconvenient and means that the product is expensive to use in the long term.

Overall, we do not recommend Zenoctil to our readers.
